The good.. The ship was awesome and the ports during the Greek Isles cruise were all amazing , with exception to Olympia, which many on the ship considered a waste of what could've potentially been a full day at sea headed to Malta instead. It would've been nice to be able to enjoy the ship more and what it had to offer. Eliminating that port would've been great. This would've also allowed more ...
We recently had a very disappointing cruise on the NCL Star in July 2023. We have been on many NCL cruises dating back to 1996 on the Seaward and we have come to like a great many things about NCL cruises. One of the best was on the Jewel in 2019 to Australia and SE Asia. NCL has been one of our favorite cruise lines.
Our disappointment with our cruise to Iceland and Norway in July 2023 began ...
We chose this cruise because of its itinerary around the greek islands and were very pleased with every port.
However, the ship is old, something that was noticeable - small spaces, lack of activities, crowded swimming pool, etc.
The last theater show was always at 9pm, which meant we could only attend it if we had scheduled dinner for 7.30pm, too early.
The stops were long enough, but ...
First, I want to say that I chose this ship because of the 6 ports so going into it I knew the age/size of the ship and what not to expect ie lots of shows, big rooms etc. But traveling on NCL just 6 months prior and having a great experience i thought that customer service and detail would be of importance to NCL regardless of cost. The staff were rude, poor communication between staff and guest ...
Our family of five adults booked a suite for our cruise. We picked this for its itinerary---6 ports of call. Yes, all 5 of us in one suite. We had more than enough room for all, and the extra 1/2 bathroom was a godsend. There is plenty of closets and drawer space, and even when the beds were pulled out in the living room for the night, we still had more than enough room. The oversized balcony ...
We were on the Sky in Juli 2023 on the Dominican Republic & Antigua cruise. This was the third time on this ship (2012, 2016) and we found her in good condition, better than anticipated after reading reviews. The ship was clean and looked nice. There were a few maintenance issues though.
When in the elevators in the Atrium, you can see the wallpaper is peeling off the walls. This is an easy ...
I was so excited to book this cruise for my family; the ports of call were just what we were looking for, and the biggest selling point for me was 2 days in Florence rather than 1 like other cruise lines.
Despite the beautiful ports of call, the cruise itself left so much to be desired. To summarize, here's the list.
Pros:
- Ports of call
Cons:
- Cancelled the stop in Sardinia, ...
We chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary but everything else was fantastic. The staff were all excellent and very friendly - so key when you’re on vacation. The ship was kept very clean. The food ( selection and quality ) was great. We loved all the specialty restaurants that we tried. We had reserved dining before our cruise sail date so we were lucky. I had heard that others found it ...
Several years I started a series of blogs relating our adventures[and misadventures] of cruising with someone who has walking difficulties ie my husband.
For anonymity I call him 6.
You may remember the 70s series about Steve Austin an astronaut who was severely injured and rebuilt with bionics to the tune of 6 million dollars.
Well as a result of Rheumatoid arthritis hitting him in his ...
We live in Hawaii. My wife and I wanted to take our 14-year-old daughter on a big trip before she gets older and might no longer be interested in traveling with us. Our goal was to create family memories, expose her to different cultures and show our daughter that the world is a far bigger place than just Hawaii.
We booked the Norwegian 'Getaway' with the following itinerary:
Jul ...
