Just came back from the 7 day Southern Caribbean on the Viva. Family of five with three teenagers.
Overall, an amazing cruise....one of the best out of many we have taken. We are used to the mega ships of Royal, and I wondered if the Viva would feel too small. I quickly realized it's fine. It really is a beautiful ship. I read many negative reviews here, but once being on the ship, I ...
After booking this cruise, and reading all the negative reviews I fail to understand most of them. We sailed on the NCL Pride Of America on the last cruise before Covid hit, and was very impressed. When deciding to take a vacation this year, and after comparing all the other lines we have been on, (IE: Carnival and Princess) and NCL, we decided on this itinerary and ship. The ship being new and ...
This was my 15th cruise overall and sixth with NCL. Previously, I have sailed on Royal, Princess and Carnival. My DW and I find cruising to be a great value and an excellent way to spend a vacation. We chose the NCL Viva because it was a brand-new vessel, the price fit our budget and we love all of the ports, some of which we have visited multiple times (i.e. St. Thomas, Tortola and ...
If you check out the NCL Viva tour videos on Youtube, you will get a far better grasp of how the ship is laid out than I can present here. However, let me offer a few tips:
All cabins 9750 and lower are located right above the Viva theater that turns into a disco at night. If you can't sleep with thump-thump-thump until 12:30 in the AM, stay elsewhere.
The cabin itself is very comfortable, ...
We just returned from a repositional cruise on the NCL Epic, which departed from San Juan, PR on 4/14/23 and arrived in NYC on 4/22/23 after stopping at St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Marteen, St. Thomas and Amber Cover (DR).
This was our 14th NCL cruise and 3rd since the restart. I traveled with my wife and we stayed in an inside room. Also, we cruised on the NCL Epic in 2014.
Our cruise on the ...
My perspective is based on having stayed in the Haven. In spite of the reviews found on this site, we were hopeful for a different experience. We had a wonderful time with family and friends on our trip. Whatever staffing issues mentioned in previous reviews were not apparent during our trip. The Haven crew was excellent! We stayed in a 2-bedroom family villa. It was amazing! While six people ...
We are Sapphire members with Norwegian . We chose this cruise because we have never taken a Southern Carribean cruise.
We booked the Haven 2 bedroom Villa. We had the best time of our lives on this cruise.
Our Butler and Room attendant took very good care of our needs on the cruise. The concierge booked the specialty restaurant for us. We only went to Le Bistro which the food and waiters ...
I don't know what ship the negative reviewers were on, perhaps they dont know to manage their own expectations. My experience was lovely. People complain about the ship design? If you didn't study the layout and aspects of fhe ship prior to booking and then get on board only to complain about the layout and aspects that's a "you" problem. You chose it. I found it no funkier than any other cruise ...
We just got off the Norwegian Epic one week ago and although I rarely do this, I felt it necessary to post this review. My wife and I read a significant number of reviews prior to sailing and, much to our chagrin, many were extremely negative. We really began to question our decision but the itinerary was what ultimately made the decision and we are so glad we hung in there. The entire experience, ...
Sailed out of San Juan which was a great port to start with. I have read mixed reviews about this ship and was not as excited for the ship as I was for the Southern Caribbean itinerary. However, it was a great ship and I found it very easy to navigate. I've been on the Breakaway and really liked that ship too.
Food review- My first stop on embarkation day was to O'Sheehans. That was meh...in ...
