This was our 7th cruise with NCL, and 4h on the Epic. Unfortunately, this will be our last time cruising with NCL. We did a cruise on the Spirit last year and we noticed a dip in quality and service with NCL. This was confirmed with our recent sailing.
It first started with our original cruise (04/2023) getting cancelled by NCL and the reason given was that the ship had been privately ...
Cons- The ship is old and in desperate need of upgrades. The biggest issue is the rust and soot that come out of the stacks and stains your clothes. Everything is covered in it, towels, floors and windows. Every barrier glass and window we saw was filthy. It does not wash out.
Understaffed and crowded. Lines everywhere for everything. Staff is polite but overworked.
Hard to see shows- ...
Our experience on the Epic was mediocre because of the noise and lack of seating in the atrium. All games and other activities took place there. Seating was extremely limited, so most people had to stand around to watch the games, etc. Not one venue, aside from the theater, has capacity for a group to sit and relax. The lounges had closed doors, so when we were walking by, either there was a ...
We had previously sailed on the NCL Escape and had such an amazing experience at the Haven that we tried out the Epic. I was nervous going into it after reading all of these reviews and can see that there is merit in a lot of the feedback so this is a bit more geared towards both the ship and the Haven experience.
We sailed as a family of five - with kids aged 5 / 7 / 9 - and stayed in the ...
We wanted to spend NYS Schools’ FEB Break in the Tropics, with great dive/snorkeling locations. The 2nd Guest Sails and Flies Free made it worth it. All in, our up front cost was $2K, which included airfare from Syracuse, NY to San Juan, PR. We did not do the 2nd guest free drinking package as it still would’ve been $109 + tax + $22 for each day. We also spent around $850 on the Epic on 2 ...
This cruise was booked over a year ago with my wife, brother and sister in law. It was a wonderful itinerary and the Southern Caribbean is always a winner as far as island stops go.
This is why I am so impressed by how NCL was able to mess up such an amazing cruise on paper.
Starting off with the Packages. NCL is well known for their “Free at Sea” promotion. However a warning to those who ...
After 30 total cruises and 4th on NCL, I have finally experienced a less than desirable cruise. On this cruise we were traveling with our son and his wife, along with our in-laws. Be booked this trip approximately 8 months prior to the sailing. It began when we booked the cruise and took the air package special with NCL. Upon booking, the NCL reservationist did not inform us that in order to be ...
Where to begin. Simple. WORST cruise ship ever!!!
CONS
This ship has been designed by designers for designers. Nothing works on that ship.
First, the staterooms:
NO bathrooms !!! The toilet is in a closet with only a sliding plastic door. So when you flush, the other person in bath thiks that nuclear war has been launched. The state room has no place to sit and the TV is smaller than ...
I don't know what ship the negative reviewers were on, perhaps they dont know to manage their own expectations. My experience was lovely. People complain about the ship design? If you didn't study the layout and aspects of fhe ship prior to booking and then get on board only to complain about the layout and aspects that's a "you" problem. You chose it. I found it no funkier than any other cruise ...
The ship was nice. The food was good. The accommodations were good. But bar service was terrible out on the pool deck. It was a 15-20 minute wait to get a drink most of the time. This was all week long. I'm not sure if it was because there were just so many people and everyone had the drinks included package or what. Inside bars weren't as bad but there aren't any close to the pool deck. The very ...
