We chose this cruise because it was going to interesting places we hadn't seen before, and finishing in New York. Firstly we would mention that the ship was very nice, as was our room. Normally I take NCL, have been on several ships.
The Prima is not my thing, to sum it up:
The lay of the upper decks is not great, for example there is no walking/running around the ship track. The upper deck is taken in by a cart track and some other stuff. There is no real large deck sunning area.

My first impression upon boarding, the Norwegian Viva was wow it’s so new and shiny . Cruised the mediterranean to italy and greece. Let start with the ship. Not the top of the line when it comes to luxury. Staterooms are smaller than any other line we’ve been on. I choose this cruise because we wanted to cruise the Mediterranean. The ship is beautiful. We usually cruise an inside cabin to save money. When I entered the comforter was not clean. The room looked a bit disheveled. The room steward fixed the problem and was very nice. However 10 days we had cleaning carts outside our rooms in the hallway. My daughter and I did the 10 day cruise to Italy and Greece. It was GREAT UNTIL... a kid poop in the ADULT pool. I get it things happen. And I am pretty cool with those things that do happen. However what NCL failed to do was follow, implement and apply their own rules, regulations and policies. "ADULT POOL ONLY" "NO SMOKING" signs were posted where they were in plane sight.

We wanted to visit Italy and Greece. The breakaway was a little disappointing. We have cruised on ncl many times. Maintenance seems to be lacking. The curtain on the balcony door was ripped and not attached to the rod, the balcony door itself did not operate as it should. It was very difficult to open and close. Good points - staff always a smile, chat, helpful, jean our cabin person very good. Bar staff at shakers amazing, speedy remembered what you were drinking funny always a smile. Lots of bars and restaurants choices.
Bad points - Sheehan's huge bar often only 2 staff serving you can wait ages to get served. Very noisy.
