Canada is crazy cool! NCL not so much.

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Wait staff, ship's officers and crew, security & maintenance, as usual, are all top notch. Management is just the opposite. From 6 hours on the phone over 5 weeks unsuccessfully trying to get a return call from a "supervisor" at the NCL Air Department to rectify air connections that flew us into a City 200 miles from the port on the wrong day to condescending, rude, in-your-face "service desk" ...

DINING/DRINKS/SERVICE: We paid for the Meal Specialty Dining Package, Adult Ultimate Beverage Package and the Prepaid Service Charge. It was money well spent and a great value. We were able to eat at four specialty restaurants and the food in each was excellent. The Venetian Main Dining Room also had great food. Some of the desserts were better than what we had in the Specialty Restaurants. ...

Horrible service desk employee experience

On Thursday September 12 I had a rather testy conversation with a man who was working the customer service desk on that morning. I began the conversation by starting to explain that we had received a voicemail saying that my wife had left her purse in a public area and that it had been turned in to lost and found. What I actually got out of my mouth before being interrupted was “we received a ...

There were only two instances keeping this from being the perfect cruise. First was the extremely hard sell after my massage. It made me so tense that the wonderful massage I got was null. My husband experienced the same with his massage, plus his therapist tried to do upsell in the middle of his massage. It made it to where he couldn’t relax after that. When getting a massage a person does not ...

Anniversary Cruise

Took this cruise to celebrate our anniversary. Wanted to catch the eastern fall colours We have done several cruises (mainly with NCL) but we get the feeling that their shipboard experience has deteriorated considerably. It seems that everywhere you turn, they are charging extra for things that used to be complimentary. Maybe we are getting more critical after having been on several cruises, ...

Wanted to see fall colors. Loved Quebec City. Go see Montmorrecy Falls and Basilica St. Anne. Breathtaking and enjoyed fall colors. Sydney was nice but no big deal. Peggy’s Cove was breathtaking and gorgeous. Bar Harbour was soooo beautiful and lots of fall colors. Weather is a huge factor for this cruise. We were prepared with our coats, hats, scarves and gloves. But had St. John cancelled ...

Does not compare to Princess or Royal Caribbean

My spouse and I previously cruised on Princess and Royal Caribbean before so I had high hopes for Norwegian Cruise Lines until AFTER I read their reviews AFTER I paid off our cruise and found this website. Needless to say, we will NEVER cruise on this cruise line ever again. After reading the negative reviews on this site, I really did want to give Norwegian a fair shot and form my own ...

Simply Outstanding

This was our second Norwegian cruise and our first "cold-water" cruise. It was also our first experience cruising in a suite. To start, as others have pointed out, the ship was wonderfully refurbished although the layout remains quirky. That said, by day 2 it was easy to figure out where everything was and the best way to get their. Next the staff, start to finish, outstanding. El, ...

Fall Leaves were Great

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Gem

User Avatar

The fall leaves were gorgeous. The weather was too cold to enjoy the outdoor areas very much. I think in the future I might choose an itinerary with fewer ports, as we exhausted ourselves with port after port. However, some people might love that. But I did love the ports. And I would hate to have missed any of them. This late in the year (early October), it was dark for most of the ...
