Enjoyable cruise at half capacity

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Only 1,600 passengers on our cruise. The dining venues were good with no wait - especially enjoyed the Indulge Food Hall. The boat did not feel crowded. However, even at half capacity, the gym, the pool deck and the theatre were often full. Several of the shows were cancelled for "technical reasons" (No "Donna Summer The Musical" or "The Price Is Right"). A lot of beautiful lounge seats ...

Love the Escape, the itinerary wasn't that exciting

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

We were looking for someplace warm in the winter to escape the snow, and this fit the bill. Our first time on the Escape, really liked the layout. Lots of access to overlook the water - our last cruise was on Epic, which felt comparatively closed in. Dining was great, no issues at all. Entertainment was wonderful, loved Choir of Man, and one of the comedians was hilarious. Was annoyed that every ...

Glad to be back cruising

We like to cruise in January, and chose our cruise primarily based on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary. While Prima was enticing, we couldn't justify the extra cost at this time and wanted to see more reviews on that ship over a period of time. We loved our last two cruises on the Epic and Getaway and knew we wanted to try a different ship, so it was a choice between the Escape and the Encore. ...

Great cabin, terrific food in the specialty restaurants

We picked the Prima to experience this new ship. It looked interesting in the brochures. This was our 63rd cruise, 59 ocean cruises and 4 European river cruises. The first day was hectic as there were long lines for signing up for the shows and huge lines for breakfast the next morning in the deck 17 Surfside Grill. This got better each day. The ship was like a maze to us at first and it ...

We chose this cruise and this cruise line because we are Platinum Latitudes and receive some great perks from being loyal NCL cruisers. We chose to sail on the Prima because we wanted to try out the newest and latest greatest ship! I'm going to start with the GOOD: 1) This ship is beautiful and still smelled new when we boarded! There are a lot of activities to do and some great ...

Excited to experience my first cruise. Positives: Embarkation process was smooth and fairly quick. Loved the food. A lot of choice at the buffet. Quality of food was good too. Table clearing was so quick… the staff were on top of it. Wait staff in the dining rooms were prompt, attentive and friendly. Loved our chef at Teppanyaki. Enjoyed the comedy act. Enjoyed Choir of Man ...

My family ( me-45, husband-49, stepdaughter- 15, stepson-13) traveled on the Norwegian Escape for a sun-seeking winter holiday. We have cruised before- RC/Princess/Holland America, but this was our first experience on Norwegian. We booked two interior staterooms with a connecting door. Embarkation- Although we arrived in Florida a week prior to our cruise, we wanted to utilize the bus transfers ...

"The lift is going up!"

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

My wife and I are at the platinum level for the NCL latitudes program and we enjoy the Norwegian brand. We chose the Prima after rebooking from a Baltic cruise that also stopped in Russia. (enough said there) The common joke of all our fellow passengers was the elevator message in the Queen's language and accent being the lift is going up or the lift is going down. (you just read that in a ...

The Haven Makes The Difference

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

Whenever we cruise with the kids, we're stuck in a quandry. On the one hand, we don't like the "big" boats, the noise, the pandemonium, the mediocre food etc. On the other, the kids like this and need things to do. So, the last two times, we compromised by booking into the Haven - a "Family" 2 BR. Not cheap, but worth it. For the most part, the Haven is a quiet respite from the rest of the ...

Love the promenade and how spacious it is. It is conducive to spend lots of time outdoors. The stateroom was also spacious, especially the bathroom and shower. In general, this was a good cruise. As always, the staff, entertainment, and the food were great. Overall, this ship is different from other cruise ships in the NCL fleet. We have been on 15 out of 18 ships in the fleet. The inside ...
