Hello, I have never written a review like this, EVER. Actually in over 30 cruises this may be the second one. We are Sapphire Latitude status, that’s a lot of NCL cruises. We did a back to back. June 3 - 15 Port Canaveral to Lisbon, 12 nights - June 15 - 24 Lisbon to Rome, 9 nights. BA Balcony cabin, room was a good location and we enjoyed it. Room steward was nice. NCL has stopped the ...

NCL Getaway - A Debacle on the Open Seas

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Destinations was top of mind as we explored the many choices of cruise lines. A Caribbean cruise was our top choice with as many ports as possible. Norwegian Cruise Line Getaway offered a 9-day cruise to the Dominican Republic, Saint Thomas, Saint Maarten, Antigua, San Jaun Porta Rico and of course the NCL private island in the Bahamas. With only 2 full days at sea, it seemed the best value for ...

First and probably last NCL cruise

We chose this cruise to try the NCL brand, the itinerary, and felt at the time, it was a good price. We enjoyed the size of our cabin and the view. We were in an accessible cabin (137** forward) due to my husband having mobility issues. With that being said, we were too far from the elevators and with items almost always left in the narrow hallways, my husband had to fold up his walker many times ...

Overcrowding at its Worst

I planned this cruise with a friend that I hadn't seen in almost 15 years. First, the good... the crew was absolutely amazing. From the moment we embarked until we said our last goodbyes, there was not a single crew member who we would not have given the highest regard. There were a few who stood out above the rest and we recognized them with Hero Cards and additional tips, but all were amazing ...

Boring, drunkards, over crowded, unorganized

Good: food variety and quality. Clean and pretty ship. Good port options. Reality: nickel and dime to death. Intentionally made it hard to keep water it drinks in room, no water fountains and only at a bar or open restaurant . Restaurants overbooked, wasted dining passes. Priority passes are worthless! No room on sun decks at all and no enforcement “no saving chairs or leaving chairs.” They ...

Less than special.

We are Sapphire level NCL cruisers who chose to explore this new ship for a birthday cruise. The concept is not for us. The ship doesn’t flow, and there are too few entertainment venues. The true atrium is gone, replaced by low-end furnishings and a Starbucks. In the evening, there was a musical group up against one wall - there was no stage. With very little seating, people milled about. Some ...

Mediocre at best

Took the grandkids for their first cruise. This ship is so unorganized. Staff running in way too many directions. Bars forget it you wait to get a drink and when you do get your drink it’s never the same as the last one! Whiskey sour how hard is that whiskey and sour mix, apparently very hard for this crew. There is no doubt the bottles are watered down there was no to very little whiskey in my ...

Beautiful ship, but that was it

My wife and I chose this ship for several reasons: the itinerary, the time of year, Port Canaveral is close to our home and it was a new ship we wanted to experience. The pros: large staterooms, food was good and our stateroom attendant was excellent. The cons: the buffet was way undersized for the amount of passengers, as was the entertainment venues. The ship is a virtual labyrinth when it ...

Bad experience

Let's start by saying the was decorated beautifully and kept clean 95% of the time. There were 12 bars on the ship, however, 6 didn't open until after 6 pm. I would have furious if I bought the drink package. If you found a bar open it was so crowded that it was almost impossible to get served. The bars were also understaffed. Not enough seating at all the food places. I went to the steak place ...

Not at all what I expected.

I had heard great things about NCL. This was NOTHING like I expected. From frayed front of house carpet, to raw food being served, to no food being served at temperature overall, it was simply horrible - the food was simple abhorable. We actually were thankful for port days, as those were the only days where we found decent food - well except for GSC - as the same nasty food was served at the ...
