The most fun I’ve ever had

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We arrived in Orlando and took an Uber to Cocoa Beach the day before the cruise. The beach is beautiful and we really enjoyed our evening. Next day our hotel provided transportation to the port. Ideally we would have arrived earlier because we ended up waiting in a very long line. However once we boarded the fun began! The Breakaway is a huge ship that has endless activities all day everyday. We ...

Rough seas, cold weather, beverages and food aplenty

While the seas were rough and the weather cold in Florida and the Bahamas, we had a lot of fun as first-time cruisers. Our trip took us from Port Canaveral Florida to Tortola BVI, St Thomas USVI and Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas). We enjoyed the shopping, history and the beach the most of any of the islands in Tortola. St Thomas is very small and commercialized, but the Jet Boat ride is one to not ...

Great Steam Room

We just returned from a cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway. It was a very nice ship. I thought the best feature was the steam room in the Thermal Suite. Most steam rooms aren't hot enough but this one was just right. The ship is very attractive and easy to get around. We thought that breakfast and lunch at the buffet was especially good. There was a large choice of items and despite the large ...

Living in the Haven

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We had experienced RCL's 2 bedroom suite but our family was intrigued with the Haven concept. We found it to be almost everything we had anticipated with one or two flaws. We were on Deck 15 and the main Haven area was on 16 which required a flight of 17 stairs, difficult for me at 93. So we needed to use the elevator which meant going out of the Haven area, use the main bank of elevators and ...

My husband, sister and brother in law sailed in early February. This was my 14th cruise, 4th with NCL and my brother-in-law's first cruise. After reading some of the recent reviews, I was afraid my brother in law would think cruising is the absolute worst, but that was not the case and he is ready to sail again! We arrived at the port just after 12pm, and were on the ship around 1245pm. The ...

Four friends just returned 02/12/20 from Norwegian Sun cruise to Costa Maya and Cozumel. The entire cruise was wonderful from the stateroom to the yummy food to the entertainment. We ate at two specialty restaurants, La Cucina and Cagney’s. The food in La Cucina was delicious. Two people ordered the tbone steak. It was great. Cagney’s was simply superb! Best steak any of us had ever had. And the ...

This was our 3rd NCL cruise and the first on the Sun and the first with our 3 year old daughter. We booked last min, about 2 weeks out for an amazing price; so we didn't really do any up front research on the ship it was more of a case of the dates work, the itinerary looks ok the price is great lets do it! Getting There: We flew from NY to MCO that morning and had arranged a transfer ...

Chose this cruise on a bit of a last minute special. We got Balcony Cabin for a great deal. I was a little skeptical due to the other reviews but don't listen to those negative cruisers. This was a fantastic cruise for my wife and I and worth every penny. The ship is bit older but still in great shape, clean, and serviceable where it counts. BE AWARE OF THIS THOUGH: It is best for ...

The Breakaway – Near Perfect Experience

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This was our second cruise on NCL’s Breakaway (in a row) and our fifth on the Breakaway Class. So, obviously we must like something about these ships. Happy to say – through smart cruising – we had a near perfect cruise experience for my birthday cruise earlier this month. I’ve grouped the key topics below, for easy read and finding: Embarkation/Disembarkation (Port Canaveral) – We ...

Had a wonderful time on the Sun. This was a short cruise for me, 5 days, but always had something to do. Had previously read negative things about the Sun, but I thought I would see for myself. A cruise it what you make it. This was a joint birthday cruise taken with my grand-daughter, as we share the same day. The food in the MDR, Tepanyaki, Moderno, and even at the Garden Buffet was very ...
