Cuba and Key West ports from Port Canaveral. Very organized embarkation and disembarkation. Loved seeing Havana. We did our own tour witha private tour group and was very interesting and informative. Key West was great to see as well. We did the Trolley Tour through NCL to get an overview of the Key and then after, walked around on our own. We stayed in the Deck 6a cabins and was very quiet and sufficiently spacious and comfortable for 2 people with adequate storage. The staff were particularly attentive. Any issue was addressed immediately and with follow-up. They seemed to go above and beyond to make sure guests were enjoying their cruise. The open bar was great and there was plenty of staff available to serve. We have cruised Royal Carribean, Holland America and Celebrity and I would have to say that the service on the NCL SUN was outstanding. Nicely renovated ship too. The entertainment was also very good. Enjoyed the comedian and the big dance show, karaoke, as well as the numerous musical venues. Overall very pleased!! Read Less

This was our first family cruise and we had a blast. I was a little nervous choosing the EPIC due to recent negative reviews but we really enjoyed our cruise and had no complaints. Embarkation was smooth, and even though the line was long when we arrived to port around 11:15 it really didnt take all that long until we boarded the ship. Disembarkation took a little longer than I anticipated and we chose to carry our bags off. We went to the Western Caribbean and enjoyed all our port stops. It was windy the day we went to Great Stirrup Cay and tendering took long but I was happy to get on the island and we kept busy playing ping pong until our tender was called. We really enjoyed the food - we ate first night in Manhattan, 3 nights in Taste, one night at the buffet. We ate at O'Sheehans for lunch twice although the service was awful the 2nd day. We had breakfast every morning at the buffet and we always found something everyone in our family liked. We saw Burn the Floor, did the Cirque dinner one night and watched the Beatles band in the theatre one night as well - we enjoyed all 3 of these shows. We were in a family mini suite with our two teens and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of storage in our room. While some people complain about the split bathroom etc, that configuration actually worked in our favor. Someone could get ready behind the curtain, someone could brush teeth or put contacts in while someone else was showering etc. We can't wait to cruise again. Read Less

It had Open Bar that saved us a lot of money! It was so clean and the staff was so nice! All the other cruises we've been on we needed sea sick pills. This was so smooth you didn't even know you were in the water on a boat! We loved it. It wasn't too long of a trip. Just the right amount of time. If I were to go again I would go again on Norwegian. The price was low compared to other cruises. I wish we would have gone to their private island instead of the Bahamas. Next time we'll book a different location. We liked it because we didn't need to get dressed up to eat dinner if we didn't feel like it. We could eat any time we wanted to. We were waited on hand and foot even while relaxing in a lounge chair and the tips were added at the end of the trip. I'm sure we'll go again one day!! Read Less

My husband and two kids age 5 and 7 and myaelf cruised with a family group of 10 ranging in ages 5-80 to the eastern Caribbean. We all had a blast. The kids loved it and want to go again. They didn’t do any of the kids club stuff, wanted to stay with us. They had a blast eating whatever they wanted each day and swimming all day. We all wanted to stay another week and would go again. The Epic was a great ship and didn’t feel overcrowded like I was worried it would during Easter week. They did a great job having enough to do and open space for the amount of people it holds! I will try to cover below everything I wanted to know before going. Embarkation: quick and painless. We arrived around 11:45am and the line moved quickly. We were all checked in, had stopped at our room and were laying on the pool deck by 1pm. Food: excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed the meals each night and couldn’t stop talking about the quality. I’m an experienced foodie and still rate it very high. We ate mostly at Garden Cafe buffet for breakfast and lunch and Manhatten Room for dinner. Also tried Taste. All were excellent. Buffet had so many quality choices including amazing salad bar, and freshly made to order pastas, noodle soups with veggies and omlets. Entertainment: wow! The Beatles band was a hit for all 10 of us and so much fun singing and dancing. Burn the Floor was amazing and so were the comedians, dueling pianos and other bands that played at dinner, pool deck and at night. Never a lack of fun entertainment each night. Cabin: always clean and even though it was small there was lots of storage space. My 5’11” husband found the beds a little short. Balcony was spacious and perfect for us. I liked how the shower was separate from the toilet. Room steward was very nice and attentive. Did a great thorough job. Excursions: took taxis on Tortola and St Thomas to beaches. Gorgeous water and sand. $8pp per way. Very reasonable. Felt safe. tried to do stingray excursion on private island but it was too windy so seas were rough and we didn’t go. Beach there was great and plenty of chairs. Could have used umbrellas and more chairs with shade but it’s so windy there I can see why they don’t have umbrellas. They had palm trees scattered for some shade. Other: Pools are open as soon as you get on the ship so if you have kids with you, wear your bathing suits. Make tender reservations ASAP when you can. We were told morning of that next available tender was at noon! I didn’t make a reservation because I figured we could just walk on. The night before we got on the ship we stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port. Fabulous hotel and restaurant and great pool. Would def stay there again and even add an extra day to just swim and enjoy it more. Shuttle to cruise booked through the Radisson but had to wait over an hour from our reservation time. Next time would skip that and take an Uber. The Epic was a fabulous time for all ages and we’d all go again! Read Less

We had the most EPIC vacation on the Norwegian Epic (pun totally intended). The ship had a great layout, the service was great and we really, really loved the food. The Chinese restaurant was the biggest surprise. This restaurant, along with the buffet, Irish bar and two main dining rooms, are included in the price of the cruise. The noodle bar that is part of the Chinese restaurant was great!! We ate there every other night. My six year old also loved the child care. The theming was amazing! He attended the pirate, spy and outer space nights and loved them. He even cried when we tried to pick him up early...he was having too much fun with all of his new friends. My only advice for next time would be to book specialty dining early. We enjoyed the Cirque show but would have loved to dine at the Japanese restaurant. It was booked completely. Also, if you are going to the private island, make sure you make a reservation for the tender to the island. We could have had an extra hour or two of island time if we had figured that out sooner. Don’t feel like this was clearly publicized. Overall we will book Norwegian again!! Read Less

I've been on many cruise with most being on Carnival. I think I've been on 19 Carnival, 1 Royal Caribbean, 1 Disney, and 1 Commodore (no longer around). We usually cruise on Carnival because it's cheaper, but we thought this was one of the best cruises we have been on. We had been on a similar route, and did our own thing as far as excursions go, but the class of people on board and certain services on the ship (spa for one) was better. Carnival does have it's pluses like 24 hour pizza and better buffet food (like burgers). I wish Norwegian would up their game a little there. Carnival dining staff seems more friendly in general as well, but we did have one awesome waiter the last 2 nights in the main dining room. The circus dinner show we saw was awesome (although was an up-charge). The Priscilla Queen show was great as well. We liked the option to pick at minimum 1 included feature when booking (depending on the room up to 5). We chose the drink package and the drinks were spot on. No skimming on the pours. The organization of the embarkation, debarkation, and tendering was better on Norwegian. The Thermal Spa was our favorite thing, but can see where it's not for everyone. We did have a VERY rude staff member of the photo gallery when trying to buy pics (and we are pretty easy going people), but we tried to not let that influence our opinions of the staff as a whole. I'm sure I'm missing some things, but that's my quick review. Read Less

I've Cruised on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. I wanted to try a different Cruise Line. I wanted to go to Key West Florida 3nt over the Weekend short Getaway NCL had exactly what I wanted. 2 ports, it was also my friend birthday. I didn't like the agent that booked the cruise. 1st impression means everything. Once I got on the NCL Sun even checking in, everything changed. I was in awe. Loved it. Drinks was free. It's nice to get a drink anytime without worrying about running up your tab. I'm not big on name brand handbags, but I seen a handbag that caught my eye. I wanted it. It didn't have a price. The 1st sales person said wait until tomorrow and she would find out what the price. 2 hours later I stop by again. I ask a different sales lady. She said She know the price and sold it to me. Thumbs up to her. 5 star for NCL I wish during my 16 years of cruising I would have gone on NCL. There is someone at the door to spray/ sanitize your hand when you enter to eat. Yess Read Less

We had been on a prior criuse with NCL to Bermuda. This was so much nicer with great staff and wonderful food. The cabin could have been a little bigger because the space between the bed and counter was very narrow. The balcony was big and had two chairs and a small table. No problem with the shower or toilet area. Really don't understand the people that complained about this. Entertainment was very professional and no problem getting a seat. The food was really good, we did choose the upgraded three dinner package. All the restaurants were top notch. The NCL tour was really good and the tour guide Roseanna was very informative about the history and the countryside. It was better than we expected. The smoking is now confined to a small area which makes for a better experience. The ,transportation to the ship and return was well run. Overall a really nice vacation. Read Less

I chose Epic because when I was booking i was going to be a solo traveller (however I ended up with 3 friends joining me ). I had a studio cabin on my own as none of us wanted to share our rooms. The cruise was nothing short of fabulous . I loved every minute of it. My tips are: - the shampoo/conditioner is great for shampooing your hair but not for conditioning your hair - take your own - the hairdryer is fabulous- dont worry about taking one - attend the solo mingle each day in the studio lounge- different people seem to go each day so I met different people most nights - stay in a solo cabin because then you have full access to the studio lounge where others hang out. One girl staying in a balcony was told she couldn’t come in except for the solo gatherings which she was a bit sad about Read Less

For our 10 year anniversary, we decided to do a trip on board the EPIC with the Western Caribbean itinerary. Just a few things to consider as you read my review. We love the larger ships, but know larger ships are not for everyone. With a larger ship there will be a lot of people, there will be a wait or two, there will be people you find annoying and there will be people you like. At times, the staff will seem flustered, as you never know what may have just happened with a guest they dealt with before they now had to deal with you. (I watched a Maître D' get ripped a new one by a passenger that was obviously operating under liquid courage and the problem is something he created, not the crew member). Did I mention there will be a lot of people? Also know, I am an avid researcher of the trips I book, so I know what to expect going in when it comes to ship layout, room layout, etc. I learned there are people out there who all a TA to do everything, never do any research, and then run in to surprises when they arrive. In today's world of Tech, we have all the information needed to be prepared for a trip. We booked all of our dining reservations as soon as I could online. I believe it was 120 days out. Due to this, we never waited for a table. Always walked right up and was seated immediately. We did not do any of the shows in the EPIC theatre. We have seen numerous Burn the floor shows and Priscilla is not our cup of tea. If I had one recommendation, it would be to have a more appealing show in place of Priscilla, but not a deal breaker. Below will be an in-depth review of our Trip on the EPIC April 6th -13th. At the end I will cover the themes from the week. Embarkation: We drove into Port Canaveral Friday and stayed at the Homewood Suites about 2 miles for the port. The hotel was great. If you need a dinner place, Rising Tide Tap and Table was amazing. We waited for about 40 minutes to sit on the patio, but worth it for the view and the great food. They also had a great selection of beer choices from local breweries. We decided to park at PC. Yes it is a little pricey, but we built that into our vacation budget. I really like the control of when I can arrive and being able to walk off the ship, load the car, and to be headed back home. Arrived at Port Canaveral 9am Saturday and were in line by 9:15 (number 20 in line) doors opened at 930AM, was checked in a seated by 945 am with a group 1 boarding pass. (side note: they recently hired a bunch of new NCL port agents, so pack some patience as some information is mismatched from one agent to the next). The agent who checked us in was quite a delight and set the tone for a great trip. Boarding started a little passed 1130am, I was standing at guest services at 1142am. We were probably around the first 20-30 people on board and I am not priority, yet. Got POSH passes - worth it since the ship was sailing at capacity ($118 for the two of us for the week). More on POSH later. Once on board and finished at Guest Services, we went to headliners. Waited in line for about 5 minutes and made a couple adjustments to book the two restaurants I could not book online (Moderno and Shanghai's). After headliners we got our bearings until Taste was open, which we jumped into at 12:05 pm. Lunch was great and fast. After lunch we headed up to POSH for the first drink of the cruise (Red Stripe for me and something fruity for the Mrs.). Rooms were open and ready at around 2:00 pm. We had our first bag at 4:10 pm and the last three were there when we got back from the muster drill. We were planning to watch sail away from our aft balcony, but We were delayed due to medical emergency and according to a person in the affected party, it was a legit emergency. We pulled out at 8:03 pm (while we were at dinner). Did not affect anything, except a few dollars of taxes on the alcohol we consumed while still in port and a one hour late arrival to GSC, but the Captain extended our stay in GSC by an hour, so nothing lost. There were actually two more medical emergencies on our trip. One was handled when we arrived in Jamaica (we passed the EMTs walking up the gangway as we left the ship). There was also one in Grand Cayman that delayed tendering a little. Dinner was in Moderno and this is a favorite of ours. We did not have the dining package, so this was the only specialty restaurant we hit all week, but worth it for the pineapple. Great food and service as usual. I liked we kicked our cruise off with specialty before getting to the "I am not sure I can eat another thing" place of a cruise. Once we finished dinner we were able to jump back to our balcony and watch sail away, which honestly was really neat as there was quite the thunderstorm in the distance so mother nature gave us a great light show. Day 2, GSC: I was prepared for a 50/50 chance of going to GSC, but we made it. Not much to say here, but it is a beautiful island, so I hope everyone gets to experience it. Having the ship perks carry over like the beverage package and then the free food made it that much better. Being off early helped us tremendously as we go on the island, got great seats under a palm tree and did not move much. I was about 20 10 yards from a bar, but there were also servers walking around. As the day went on, the lines at the bar got a little longer but never waited longer than 10 minutes. I would suggest to go to the outskirt bars and not the ones in the middle right by the port dump off point. We did the Taco bar for lunch and waited in line for that about 10 minutes (ate around 12:15 pm). Excursion at GSC: We bought the snorkeling package ahead of time. We did the $50 shore excursion credit so with that and my Silver status discount, cost me about $9.00 or something like that. Worth it for priority tendering and not having to book my tender reservations. Snorkeling was okay, but you get the stuff for the day. Saw a few fish, but after an hour we had our $9 worth. Dinner this night was in Taste. The food was good, cannot remember what I had. I was going to do the whole photo journalism thing, but decided to leave my phone in the room. Service was friendly and fast, maybe one hour and 15 minutes total and we went around 7:30pm. We hung out in Howl at the Moon for a little bit, which is always fun. Day 3, Day at Sea: I will use this spot to talk about POSH. For us, this was totally worth it. Being our 10 year and having no kids with us, we wanted a little quiet the best we could get on a boat of 4000 people. If we didn't get passes, we would have been fine with Spice or the Deck 18 sun deck (I noticed they set up a small bar on the deck 18 sundeck at sea days, which is a nice touch. Back to POSH. This was worth it because we never saw more than 20 people when we were up there. It was quiet, the sun was always warm and there were umbrellas if it was not too windy. The loungers are padded and are covered with towel covers that hold because of elastic corners. There was always a strong breeze, so even though the sun was hot. The bar staff were awesome, remembered our names and took great care of us. You get a pitcher water on days you are up there, which for water drinkers like my wife and I, was almost worth the price of admission. I am not a tip ahead of time kind of guy, but I will tip with great service, and did. We grabbed some pre-dinner sushi and it was some of the best I have had. Price averaged around $8 a roll and I felt worth it. We then did a later dinner in Manhattan, so we dressed up a bit and enjoyed ourselves. Day 4, Jamaica We had a great time in Jamaica. There is shopping right off the pier that was decent. There is a market about a half a mile from the pier, but be advised, the are quite aggressive and stuff not really special to what you could get at the other shops. Your typical straw market goods. There is a jerk chicken street vender right inside the shopping mall area that is amazing. It is a good size portion too that can be shared between two people for a lighter lunch/ heavy snack. It was $10 and came with some of the best rice and peas I had, along with some of the best chicken I have had. Excursion: We did the Zip Line and Bobsled. This was worth every penny and we had a blast. The staff was hilarious, the zip line was through the beautiful forest and the lift ride to the top gives you some great views of the ship and the forest as you ride up. The bobsled is a lot of fun and a special thanks to the guys for joining me in the "Cool Runnings" bobsled send off. If you don't know, time for you to go rent the movie. We did a late lunch in O'Sheehans. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for a table, but it was worth it. The wings were excellent. For Dinner this night we ate in Shanghai's. You HAVE to make reservations, so be sure to do that asap. The food was great and service was fast and friendly. Only downside for us was we were still kind of full from eating lunch at O"Sheehans when we got back from port. So come hungry, if that is possible on a cruise. Day 5, Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman was a great port. We had an excursion, so tendering was not an issue and we took our time getting off the boat to go. We did a little shopping in GC, but not much. Excursion: We did the Taste of GC or what I will call the Grand Cayman Booze Tour. This was a lot of fun and our bus driver/ tour guide was pretty funny and very knowledgeable about the island. We went to the Brewery, the Rum Cake Factory, and the Rum Distillery. I will say, this is all tasting alcohol. It is great alcohol, but that is really all it is. You get to see the island, you get to hear history from your guide, but if you are not really a big fan of tasting great alcohol, this is not for you. You will get a buzz, so eat a big breakfast. We got back on board and all we wanted was so good Pub food because of all the alcohol we took on. So O'Sheehans it was. Great burger for some soaking up. We laid low the rest of the night. Day 6, Cozumel. Cozumel is a great port. The Pier goes right into a great shopping mall, where you can get a lot of great deals and things for your friends and family back home. We got off early, did some shopping, and then went and met for our excursion. Excursion: We did the Cozumel Taste and Cooking Experience at Playa Mia Beach Park. This was one of the best excursions I have done while on a cruise. My wife and I had so much fun and made some great food. If you like to cook, or like Mexican cuisine (I am a lover of both), you have to do this excursion. Your drinks are included and you get to eat a fabulous meal that you cook. You also get some time to hang around and use the amenities of Playa Mia Beach Park and there is some shopping there as well. Worth every penny. Dinner this night was in Manhattan. It was great and service was fast and friendly. Day 7: At Sea. You can see above about our At Sea days and how we spent them. I will add that we loved had our last day being at Sea. We got to relax from a busy three days in port. We honestly felt like it was our first day on the boat, and never felt the last day blues. Day 8: Time To Go Disembarkation: We decided to do the 9:30 am luggage tags. Got a great breakfast in taste and then we were in the lobby waiting at 8:20 am. (side note: this is a great place to people watch with guest services and people freaking out over what seems to be insignificant.) We got antsy and decided to walk off 8:45 AM. Was off the boat in about 10 minutes, as they have seemed to really work this issue out. There was a defined line to walk and staff spaced all throughout the walk to get off the boat. Found a porter, slipped him a $10 and we were in our car ready to pull out about 9:05 am. Final Comments: Dining: Food was good to great. I made all my reservations online, went to headliners to make a couple of adjustments. Never waited for a table. Highlights were Moderno (a favorite of ours), the sushi (best I have had), Shanghai's, O'Sheehans wings and the burger and the prime rib the last night. We only ate in the Buffet twice for lunch and once for breakfast - everything else was a sit down. Side note: I live in Charleston, SC and consider myself a foodie as we have an embarrassment of riches here in Charleston for food. The ever looming engines: There was never an issue with engines. The last night we were doing 22kts. Bar Waits: -When not using the Bar in Posh, I never waited longer than 5 - 7 minutes for a drink (including pool bar and the atrium bar). Cleanliness: -Boat was spotless. Room was spotless (Aft Balcony 13282). There is some construction going on aboard the ship and it seems the are trying to get things in order for going back over across the big pond. Was not a bother for us. The Crowd: Yes it was packed and busy, but this is a big ship. If you do not like crowds, never go on a big ship. You will wait from time to time for an elevator (we take the stairs a good bit to help with the food guilt as every calorie burned is one we can consume). Also, some people just have bad attitudes. Have a drink, you are on vacation. The Beverage Package: This was great to have and I did not have to worry about watching my bill all wee on what I was spending on drinks. Yes, some "premiums" are not included, but for me it did not make a difference. Cigar Lounge: It is worth mentioning they monitor and kick cigarette smokers out. Yes this is a big deal. Cigar smoke and cigarette smoke are completely different. Final Thoughts: My five star review is not inflated. I came to review to give a honest look at how great NCL can be. Yes, I get it is all about perspective, but its vacation, always pack some patience. We had a great time and I would go on the EPIC again. We never felt smoke was heavy, but maybe once, when passing through Casino. The ship does have a different layout than most, but do some researching and you will be just fine. We were really low key on this trip, as it was our first cruise just the two of us. We did a couple dance parties, some of the game shows, some of the music. Our best night was spent at Maltings listening to the Manhattan Band and having drinks. We got a treat with a member of four blue walking up and singing a couple songs and being awesome and doing my yell out of "Fly Me to the Moon" as he had a very distinct Sinatra feel to his voice. Our last night ended with us slow dancing to this song. Perfection. Read Less

My husband and I had never been on a cruise before and we definitely will be back! So I guess we can’t make comparisons. The staff and crew were friendly and helpful. The food was so awesome and the choices were great! We ate at three of the specialty restaurants with Moderno being our favorite. I have to have a gluten free diet and they had it noted. I didn’t even have to mention it. Lots of places make you feel like a freak when you have dietary restrictions. They even had special bread, which I didn’t expect. We saw several shows including the Cirque Epicurean show. Dinner is included and I think it was my favorite show! Burn the floor, Priscilla and the Beatles show we also saw and they were great! A really nice surprise was the awesome band in the Cavern Club? I believe the name was Blue 4? I apologize if I have it wrong because they are wonderful. The ship is like a city on the ocean. The cruise director Mandy is adorable and has a great voice for the announcements. She truly was born for that position! The one thing that was not great was our Best of Ocho Rios excursion that we bought through Norwegian. I won’t go into details, but I expect it to be up to the same standards as the cruise if I buy it through them. Thanks to all the staff and crew of the Epic for making our thirtieth Anniversary Epic! This was a sort of last minute cruise (booked end of January for 3/30-4/6 cruise). Despite all that was happening in regards to the Epic, we were going on this cruise to relax and that we did. Embarkation: We pulled into the pier parking lot at 10:10, dropped off are luggage, breezed thru security and check in (boarding group 10)and took a seat to wait. At 11:00 they announced that embarking was delayed due to passengers from prior cruise still being on the ship. Most likely caused by the facial recognition they were using when disembarked. With all that, we were on the ship, in our swimsuits in H2O with a drink at 12:30. Ports: Did not get off the ship in Tortola or St. Thomas as we had done those before. We were able to stop at Great Stirrup Cay. We had tender in group 2 and from time they called our group til we got on the island was 35 minutes. Island was nice, just chilled on the beach as water was a little colder than we like. Food was ok and beverage service was great. We spent most of our days at Spice H2O as we did not get off in 2 of the ports. Did not have problem getting chairs but we were there by 7:30 (we had the continental breakfast delivered at 6:30 every morning). It did get crowded on the sea days and by 10:00 you were hard pressed to find a chair. Never had to wait more than 5 min. for drinks at bar and most times the waiters coming around took our orders . Food: ate at Taste 5 of the nights and never took more than an hour. Food was good except for last night. Prime Rib was ehh. Not a problem just got something at buffett. Room steward took care of our needs. Disembarkation: Best I have experienced. Must have had the facial recognition figured out. Had a 9:00 disembark time. Had breakfast at buffett and went to public area to wait at 8:15. Called our color at 8:25 and were in our car leaving the parking lot at 9:03. Once got thru facial recognition you were considered thru customs. Was a great trip and would sail Epic again Read Less

We were on 7 day cruise. A local band from our town, Buffalo NY was on board along with 165 of us also from Buffalo to support them. There's so much to do on the ship, Bingo, Pool activities, complimentary shows/entertainment, they have an awesome sports bar, casino, spa, fitness room, lots to do for the kids! Rock climbing, water slides, tube raft slide, basketball court, ping pong tables, kids buffet, cookies all day long, unlimited self-serve soft ice cream or counter top ordering hard ice cream, kids playroom & kiddie splash park, Most of the staff was super friendly, many food options daily/nightly. Lots of food options for even the picky eater. My party had the unlimited alcohol package - hands down awesome! we also chose the gratuity package. The beds in cabins are very comfortable, room steward was efficient & took care of our needs. Everything was great! Read Less

This was our 2nd cruise with NCL. Our first cruise was on the Sky, so we weren't sure what to expect with a bigger ship. We had the beverage package and 3 specialty dining meals. We had our meals booked, but ended up wanting to eat at different times 2 of the evenings. We had no issues getting those switched around. The food was FANTASTIC! Cagney's is the best hands down. We ended up upgrading from a mini suite to a spa suite and I'm so glad that we did. We took advantage of going to the thermal spa at least once a day!! So relaxing. We didn't go to any of the shows, so I can't comment on them. We did go to the interactive games and karaoke and that was a good time. We enjoyed the water slides as well. Yes, granted there were a lot of spring breakers on this cruise, we didn't have any issues with any of them. For the most part there weren't that many that we too annoying. I've seen a lot of people complaining about them, but with booking a cruise for this time of the year, you should expect it to be busy with the spring break college crowd. I'd much rather deal with them than a million little kids running around, but that's my personal preference. None of that would be Norwegian's fault. All in all we had a great trip, we enjoyed our time shopping the streets of Cozumel, ate at Hooters and got in the water a little. We also had a fantastic day at Great Stirrup Cay and had perfect weather the entire trip! Our room was always spotless as well. We would go again! Read Less

My stay in the Haven was GREAT. Wonderful service and even though there were over 4000 passengers, we went right in to our Haven restaurant. No waiting. Shows were really special and the reserved seating ( another Haven perk) were right down front, so we could see everything. The specialty restaurants were all very delicious. Our favorite was the Italian, La Cucina. I had the best soup I have eaten in years there. We were all delighted with the good service and attention to detail. I do not know if I could go on any other line and have all the treats. All of our requests were handled and our butler was super. He brought extra coffee pods for our Nespresso when we asked and the PM snacks (cheese platters and chocolate covered strawberries) were delivered each day. A stay in the Haven is well worth the extra money. You only live once. The only problem is once you stay in the Haven you will not want a regular cabin any more. Read Less

My new husband and I wanted to try a cruise as part of our honeymoon. Neither of us have ever been on a cruise so we tried a 5-Day cruise out of Orlando. Since it was our honeymoon we went all out and got the Deluxe Owners Suite (17004) which was beyond amazing! Our butler Renson was great and very friendly. We did not use him too often but when my husband was given the wrong room key back at the pool, which we noticed later at the atrium bar, I was able to use the room phone to call Renson and he brought a new room key down to use a few minutes later! The food was delicious. We ate at the Haven restaurant, Teppanyaki, Brazilian steakhouse, Chaney’s Steakhouse and all were delicious! The shows were also entertaining. We saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Cirque Dreams and Burn the Floor! We cannot day enough good things about our first cruise experience! Read Less

This was our third time on the Epic, but first in the Haven. 8th overall cruise with NCL, but have also been on Carnival, RCL, and Celebrity. There were 4 of us travelling - 2 parents with 2 children sharing a 2BR (H4) suite. We picked this cruise because we had never been to Great Stirrup Cay and liked the idea of a shorter sailing because the kids were missing a few days of school. We flew to Orlando the night before and stayed near the airport. Took an Uber to the port - straightforward and simple ride that took a little less than an hour. Embarkation was great. We arrived at the port around 11:15. The line to check-in was long, especially with the 1800 travel agents who were joining us for this cruise. As Haven customers we were brought to the check-in area and were immediately helped. We then were escorted to the ship and were onboard well before noon. After a tour of the Haven area, we sat in the Epic Club restaurant for lunch. The food and service were top-notch, which is something that was very consistent the entire vacation. The Assistant Maitre D and his staff were very attentive and did everything needed to make our meals enjoyable. We then changed into bathing suits and rode the waterslides - no lines as folks were still arriving and boarding. Great time to take advantage of these amenities before any crowds. Overall meals were very good onboard. The 4 of us didn't have one bad experience. We ate at Taste, Cagney's, Teppenyaki, Garden Cafe, and Epic Club. Cagney's was amazing as always, with perfectly cooked steaks and consistent service. The restaurant was a little smokey that evening, so they sent chocolate covered strawberries to our room as an apology. (Totally wasn't necessary but shows how focused they are on making our experience a positive one.) We never waited more than a couple minutes for a table at any meal. For transparency, though, we do eat dinner at around 6:00 so that generally is earlier than most folks onboard. The Cruise Director (Mandy) was excellent. She ran quality events and was a great host for game shows. While there are old stand-byes like the Newlywed Show and Deal or No Deal, there were also new activities on this ship which were very entertaining. The Wheel of Ill Will provided some laughs and the digital scavenger hunt enabled me and my son to run around the ship and find/create specific photographs. Thanks for the innovation on the onboard activities! Great Stirrup Cay was quite a paradise. We were off the ship early and found our way over to the snorkel hut and grabbed some beach chairs. It never felt crowded on the island and we appreciated how the drink package carried over. Snorkeling was fun too, seeing many different fish species and the underwater sculptures. The equipment was quality and was reasonably priced - basically using our excursion credit. Tendering was easy enough. Would be better with a pier, of course, but not an issue. We didn't do an excursion in Cozumel. Walked around onshore for a little and then went back to enjoy the Haven pool area and amenities. At the end of the trip, we wished we had a couple more days onboard. That's the downside of a 5 night cruise - not yet ready to go home. After another breakfast in Epic Club (Steak and Eggs,) we collected our bags and walked off the ship. Customs was a breeze. I recommend using a porter to bypass the line - saved us at least a half hour and cost us a reasonable tip. The staff onboard were all great, very focused on both customers and doing their jobs. One morning I was walking around the pool deck at 7am (because the jogging track is covered on Deck 7) and saw so many staff cleaning and preparing the ship for that day's customers. It was impressive to see them working so hard to ensure a clean and safe experience for us. Already thinking about the next cruise after a relaxing week at sea. The ship does take a little time to get used to the layout, but then it's easy to find things. We had a great week onboard and I'd recommend this ship/crew to anyone. Read Less

I was reading reviews on here and was getting nervous. I even reached out to Norwegian about just how many negative reviews there were. They didn't reply whatsoever, but I figured the small group of us were just going to go on our vacation and make the most of it. The price was right and the drinks were included. Boarding was a little messy because there was a big group of travel agents, so they stopped the process for people like us in order to let them all on first. There wasn't much of a delay and we were on the boat before noon and in the pools, which was our goal. The waiters in the pool area came around somewhat frequently but the pool bar itself moved very slow. They did have two pop up bars in the pool area with basic drinks to help cut down on wait times. This boat is set up kind of strange where the entertainment is facing away from the pool. We found plenty of seating, it just took going up the stairs a deck. The food and service at each restaurant was amazing. I did make reservations for each night prior to departure. Great selection, delicious entrees. We had a group of 5, so dinner took about a hour and a half. Some might consider that long, but you are on vacation and with friends, why rush it. Burn the Floor was amazing. We were surprised to see it was an entirely different production from the Burn the Floor on the Getaway that we experienced in November. Priscilla was a bit too much. I left early. I wanted to at least give it a try with an open mind, but this production does not appeal to anyone aside from the LGBT community. Howl at the Moon was great, they kept the crowds having fun. The Beatles and 4blue in the cavern club both were terrific, but get there early because it fills up. The band at the pool was one of the best I have seen for deck entertainment. Mandy was our same cruise director from the Getaway in November and was just as lively and fun. The bathroom setup in the room was not quite as terrible as I had feared, but there is no reason to have a translucent door on the toilet. The beds are not short as some have mentioned. They are two twins pushed together and if you know bed sizes a twin is 75 inches while your typical queen is 80 in length. I am 5'10" and had no issues as long as I was near the top of the bed. Though we never actually met our room steward he had always adhered to the sign on the outside of our door and we communicated special requests via notes. Everything was serviced well. The gym was great and much better than on the Getaway, plenty of bars and public areas, though hallways are rather cramped. The cruise was great, I would go on the Epic and NCL again for sure, but there were two major complaints that need addressed. Bliss nightclub was really good, the DJs were great. But they stopped the music every 20 minutes, turned the lights on, and forced everyone off the dancefloor due to a broken glass. This seemed a way to just break up the party. Why do you insist on serving in glasses? There has to be another way to run this club so that you don't break up the party three times a hour due to a spilled drink. Really really dumb. The other big issue was tendering. NCL obviously is not equipped to handle a boat the size of the Epic for Great Stirrup Cay. They should keep the itinerary for this ship to walk off locations only. Cozumel was fairly quick with only a 10 minute wait to get back on. We waited over a hour to get off and back on at Great Stirrup. The island is nice, but I would have chosen to stay on the boat had I know what a huge disappointment the tendering process was about to be. I'll definitely cruise again and will probably look to NCL first when I do....the inclusion of the drink package and the good food and extra entertainment does put them a level above some of my other experiences. I'll try to keep this as brief and informative as i can. First, this was the cruise that experienced engine problems, missed all our ports and arrived late back to Port Canaveral, but this is a review of our experience on board and more importantly, the ship itself. This was our 7th cruise among several different lines, so the ship as a whole we really enjoyed. It's big, the food was very good comparability to other cruises, and we really liked the design of the cabin, we read lots of reviews critical of the separate shower/toilet and sink in the room. My wife and i found this cabin design very convenient. We had an aft balcony cabin, we enjoyed the view, however, there is noise on the balcony, it's not engine noise, it's noise from the wake of the water, we didn't find it annoying at all, but it was noise. there also is a slight spray from the wake that left a sea salt residue on the balcony, this also did not annoy us as we love the Sea and thought it was neat to have sea salt on our porch. We had the drink package and found it was well worth it as cruise ship drink prices are high, we did find it sometimes difficult to get a drink quickly as the bars are often busy and there could be more of them(bars) on the ship. The water slides were great, we took advantage of them while docked in San Juan for some engine repairs, most of the 4100 passengers were on land, which finally opened up the pool area for us and a few other passengers to enjoy(it's typical on cruise ships to not get a nice chair by the pool, as they're always crowded and there is a wait in long lines for water slides). A piece of advice, if your going to bring the 1 bottle of wine per person on board, NCL will charge you a $15 per bottle cork fee, i suggest you sneak it on in your checked luggage, the "cork" fee was pretty tacky. Overall it was a really good cruise, NCL did their best to keep the passengers informed and entertained on a disrupted cruise, and they gave us credit towards our next cruise, which we think was fair, in fact we already booked our next one . Just got back from a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Epic out of Port Canaveral, Florida. Here are my thoughts on the vacation. -UBP. Got the Ultimate Beverage Package for the week. Was totally worth it. Great selection of spirits, beer, and wine. The standard wine was excellent and was my drink of choice during the day. Totally saved us money. It was also nice not worrying about a tab at the end. Plenty of bartenders and really didnt have to wait in line for a drink. Best perk is that drinks are included on the private island. Very nice touch and adds the feeling that you are at an all inclusive resort for the day. Bartenders even remembered my drinks. -Food. Excellent food. My favorite was the steak house, French restaurant, and the Chinese. Chinese is included and not a specialty restaurant, bonus. Buffet has everything and very tasteful. Also, did room service which was great and offered pizza. Yum. Staff was very attentive and kept the food always stocked and very happy to help in anyway. -Entertainment: Broadway quality on the shows, make sure you take advantage and attend. You wont be disappointed. Nightclub Bliss was great for dancing. Also, during the cruise we watched the Super Bowl at H20 on the massive screen. Very cool experience. Plus they had a tailgating buffet of all the football food that you expected. Really a great way to watch the big game. Spa is massive and totally worth the pass price. Great place to relax after a long day on shore. Staff: Best part of the boat. Great staff that are always in a good mode and friendly. The hotel director, Nelson is great guy and very approachable. You see him everywhere around the ship. Our room attendant did a great job and kept our cabin cleaned and stocked all the time. Bottom line, this is one of the best cruises I've been on and I have tried them all. Great cruise of just about anyone. Singles, Couples, Families, etc. Will be back for sure. Read Less

The staff is amazing and they work so hard to make sure each passenger enjoys their vacation. There are so many things to do on this ship. The rooms are spotless and I loved having a bathroom separated from the shower area because we had two in our room so it made it easy to get ready for dinners and shows. The Food is great with such a big variety of selections. I recommend the specialty restaurants if you want fine dining I was very impressed! The best part of the trip was watching everyone from the staff to each and ever passenger smiling and feeling like a magical vacation!
