Embarkation - As expected, long lines. Got in line a half hour before our reserved boarding time and got through security right at our reserved time. It was fine - very busy, long lines, and as good as expected. Now the good impressions- 1. We had a balcony for the first time, and it was awesome, and it felt pretty roomy! We are now spoiled and can't go back to Oceanview. 2. Daily ...

Probably Looked Good on Paper, But…

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

While Prima is a beautiful ship, NCL tried to make her all things for all people and failed almost everyone in the process. It’s as if a dozen different designers worked on their own areas without communicating with anyone else. Cabins are spacious and comfortable and Ocean Boulevard is nice but these positives are far outnumbered by other negatives. The main pool area is grossly undersized. The ...

This was our 3rd cruise on Norwegian. Have cruised Carnival and Royal before Norwegian. We did a 7 day cruise to Dominican republic , Saint Thomas US V.I. and British V.I. Tortola. The cruise was just meh. We had been to all these ports before. Enjoyed ourselves in the Dom Rep and St Thomas. We did not go ashore in Tortola. The port call at Half Mppn Cay was cancelled due to the sea state. ...

We had cruise next credits that expired at the end of January, 2023, and had no opportunity to use them until this cruise; as we were on 7 cruises prior to this cruise in 2022. I will give you the pros and cons as I saw them for this cruise on the Norwegian Escape. Pros: 1) The band in Sid Norman's Pour House was nothing short of Fantastic!! (and I am a musician, so I am looking at them ...

Chose this ship because the concept - smaller ship with more intimate spaces looked great. The entertainment and specialty dining options really sold us. However, all specialty dining was sold out before we even got on. All entertainment was sold out by the time we boarded. I’ve been in line for 30 minutes at guest services several times and just keep getting conflicting messages and sent on a ...

NCL Prima- State of the art Disaster

So this was my 6th NCL cruise and was excited to check out NCL's latest class of ship. I've laways had a great time on previous NCL cruises and had high expectations for the Prima. Unfortunately, expectations can be a terrible thing, especially when they're not met. My high hopes came down to earth in a crash landing. We stayed in the Spa balcony cabin on an eastern Carribean cruise. Here is what ...

The service was mostly great most of staff were fun and friendly, our room person only replaced towels 30% of the time, had to go towel searching many times. Food wasn’t very good. Only one meal that I would want again and that was Teppanyaki. The steaks and ribs (at Taste and Savor also garden cafe)were so tough no one could eat them. Bayamo was a 50/50 some things ok others bad. O’sheehans ...

I love NCL but NOT Prima!

Cruising is my favorite way to travel. We were very excited for this new ship experience! We booked a forward facing suite with the large balcony (room 11704).Who knew that the balcony is essentially useless? The barrier - instead of glass for the beautiful view- is steel. One must stand in order to see off the ship. The layout of this suite is not well thought out. The desk area is so close to ...

Beautiful boat, but dining hot mess!

I have to start by saying that this cruise ship was the prettiest boat I've ever been on. I'm pretty sure I've sailed on all the major cruiselines that sail out of the US, and it was just beautifully done. The cabin was more modern and the boat was lighter and brighter overall. The showers were larger than other boats we've sailed, and I loved all the little sitting areas. Despite the gorgeous ...

Went on this cruise with some friends during winter break. We were really looking forward to seeing some new ports since we had done the western Caribbean itinerary in the past. First of all, the good: - The ship was beautiful and in great shape. Everything was very clean and neat as always with NCL. - Food was overall very good. O'Sheehans was quick and tasty on this cruise and the main ...
