We chose this cruise as a quick and cheap getaway to recover from the holidays and to regroup after the passing of my dad two days before Christmas. I had two good books and just wanted to relax and forget about reality for five nights. Plus, it was cheap. $1,100 for a balcony for two. We had sailed on this ship in April 2019 and had fun. We were allowed to board at noon, but got to the port at 12:45. The lines were long and people were sitting around waiting to get on. Apparently, they had to move the gangplank and that caused a backup. Also, the computers went down when we were checking in and we had to stand around and wait for that to be fixed. We were on the ship by 1:50. We went to the buffet and it was a madhouse, but we expected that. However, the layout is so poor. You have to get your own water/juice/tea. The machines are in a hallway-type part of the room where people are walking to get to the buffet. I love having strangers breathing in my water. The food choices were odd...bean stew? No one walks around offering beverages like on Royal Caribbean. We went outside to get two sodas at the bar. They only serve Pepsi products. Two small glasses of Pepsi were $7.20. They are $3.00 each and a 20% gratuity is automatically added. On our previous cruise on this ship, all drinks were included in the fare because it was a short cruise on a smaller ship. Maybe THAT is why we don’t remember it being so bad. Our cabin was a soaking wet rug by the bathroom and smelled musty. We had trouble even opening the cabin door because the rug was buckling. We were told to go to the 7:30 show and they’d put a dryer in there to fix the problem because there were “no other cabins.” We unpacked and went to the show. We returned to the cabin at 9:14 and the blower was still going and it was still smelly and wet. Guest Services came and offered to show us another cabin. We did not ask why we were told there were none. Anyway, the other cabin was directly under the pool and the smell of chlorine was so strong that we chose to smell mustiness instead and stayed where we were. Also, we were exhausted. At 10:30 that night, Guest Services called, woke us, and wanted to know why we didn’t contact them regarding the other cabin. We told them we had, we looked at it, and chose not to move. The next morning we went to Guest Services after getting a note on our door to contact them. We were told we could have an inside cabin to hang out in while the rug dried in our cabin. The employee explained this cabin hadn’t been used because the occupant “got on the ship, felt claustrophobic, and left immediately.” We accepted this offer and went to that cabin. The inside cabin offered was being made up and the occupants had ordered room service and their dishes were everywhere. We were told by another employee that this cabin was rejected by the people it was assigned to because of all the noise from the stewards’ work area right next door. Two employees, two different stories... We opted not to take this cabin either. The rug dried by Day 3 and we got used to the smell. The bed was extremely comfortable and the air was cold. We actually slept well. I will say Guest Services was excellent with trying to accommodate us. They sent champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries and also offered us a $100 credit to a specialty restaurant. We are at Cagney’s and it was delicious. The service was impeccable. Room service costs $9.95 per order, with 20% gratuity added. We ordered once and the portions were plentiful. We had the free continental breakfast one morning. We requested delivery between 9-9:30 am. It arrived at 8:40 am. There are a total of 12 deck chairs on the promenade deck, Deck 6. This was disappointing because they were always occupied during the day and is one of my favorite places to relax. Pool chaises were stacked by 6:15 every evening, so we couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the night sky. There’s no outdoor movie (or indoor movie), so that’s a disappointment. Costa Maya was ok. The shopping area had aggressive shopkeepers. One mumbled something about Americans when I didn’t want to come into their store. We stayed in the ship in Cozumel because we’d been there before and Deck 13 (or maybe it was 12) was empty and relaxing and peaceful. Attitude is everything, so we made the choice to have a great time. We had to overlook a lot, but we did have a good time. Disembarkation was a breeze and we were off the ship and in our car within 15 minutes. As a side note, I wish there was a way to teach people that it’s polite to wait for people to get off an elevator prior to them getting on the elevator! Read Less

First let me tell you the best part of this cruise; the price. 5 out of 5 I found a super deal on an inside room. $149 pp for a 5 day cruise is crazy. I did bid on an upgrade but it was not accepted. Entertainment 3 out of 5. The comedian was horrible, just not funny at all. The games were good and they forewarned about potential adult content when present. The Singers/Dancers were very good. The magician was excellent. Room: 5 out of 5 and yes we had an inside room. The layout of this inside room made it better than balcony rooms imo as far as usable space without tripping over each other. Lots of storage options as well. The room steward did a great job. Food: 3 out of 5. The buffets were good and there was certainly plenty of choices. However after having cruised with 2 other cruise lines this one fell short with the dining room options. The service was great and the setting very nice. But it is evident they are pushing people toward their extra fee restaurants. The New York Strip is the same quality as you would get from one of these “steak companies” that sell steaks out of the back of a truck. Not good quality at all. This was the biggest disappointment of the cruise for me. Every other cruise I have taken (5 others), the food has blown me away. This was our first cruise with Norwegian. Staff: 3 out of 5. Our room steward was awesome as was our waiters. I’m not a complainer. I didn’t file a single complaint all week. But on 4 occasions when I asked a question I received a very snippy response. Anybody can have a bad day but this seemed to be commonplace with the Guest services staff. One time I asked for an iron. I couldn’t understand the entire response so I asked the gentleman to repeat what he said. He used a raised voice and said “were sending it” and hung up. Another time was asking a question about declaration forms. They just seemed very stressed and poorly trained. I guess if my job was to listen to people gripe all day it might put me in a bad mood as well. I e just never seen this on the other two cruise lines I have used. The worst part was the public restrooms. 1 out of 5. Our restroom in our cabin was nice and well cleaned. The public restrooms were horrid. From over flowing toilets to no toilet paper to a bathroom with blood all over the toilet and floor. The worst part was after letting staff members know of the condition they were not cleaned quickly (within 30 min). Read Less

We are frequent cruisers but had not cruised on NCL for 10 years. This cruise on the Sun was a very pleasant surprise. The ship is in great shape - all the money spent in renovations during dry dock really shows! The food was very good in all the venues we tried. The food and service was excellent in the Seven Seas MDR. Norwegian is a much more relaxed "freestyle" experience and we enjoyed that after cruising on other lines not quite so relaxed. There were many, many activities available during the day and night with a good amount of live music around the pool, in the atrium, in the Bliss Lounge and sometimes in the Spinnaker Lounge on deck 12. My husband and I are dancers - social ballroom, country and western, Carolina Shag - and none of the venues had great dance floors. The production shows were good. The performers were very young with LOTS of energy in their routines! The comedian and magician were pretty bad. The two ports - Costa Maya and Cozumel were enjoyable and the weather was great with temperatures in the low 80s. We had a little rain one day, but other than that, it was a great January cruise. Our cabin was a mini-suite on the 8th floor. The room was great and had been updated during the dry dock. The balcony was a large aft balcony with a nice view of the ship's wake. One negative note - the aft rooms on the 8th deck are over the theater so there's noise during the shows and when they are practicing during the day. Port Canaveral is a very nice little port. People are more friendly and you don't have all the rush and stress of a large port like Port Everglades. I would definitely take this cruise again! Read Less

Port Canaveral is an easy enough drive and we were ready for little winter get away. We sailed on the Sun previously. Great experience began with the gentlemen who checked us in. Kudos to the Management of the Sun, as of our interactions with the all if the service personnel on the ship was positive. Our Steward, pronounced Yo Man could not have been better. Embarking and Disembarking were a breeze; in fact because of the size and management of the ship we never felt crowded. We also appreciated the ease of flow throughout the ship, no waiting and always a place to sit. I would recommend heading to the Seven Seas dining room upon embarking to avoid the first day buffet craziness. The entertainment was great, in fact I can imagine any of of the talented dancers and singers on Broadway. We were thrilled to have been selected to dine with the officers who were very gracious. The conversation flowed beautifully. We appreciated the opportunity to bid on and win a balcony upgrade. My husband and I especially enjoyed this benefit. I am an early riser and loved the early am quiet time on my private balcony while my husband rested. Read Less

The staff provided very good service. Our butler and cabin attendant did a great job. The entertainment was very good and the food was good. However, My wife and I contracted a ship-borne virus on the afternoon of the 4th day of the cruise. We both received numerous injections and 2 days of IV medications, after two trips to the Medical Center in wheelchairs. We spent the remainder of the cruise quarantined in our cabin. We were only allowed to eat Jell-O, crackers, rice and cold toast. We had to change our own linens and clean up even as we were vomiting and having violent diarrhea for 4 days, with 100-101 degree fevers. We cannot recall ever being this sick in our lives. In addition, the toilet did not flush due to a plumbing problem for many hours, and on two different occasions while quarantined, the hot water was out due to another plumbing problem on the ship. Even thought we paid $36 per day service fees during the time we were quarantined, NCL did not even entertain a partial refund. Their form response letter was unsympathetic and demeaning.. We will never go on an NCL cruise again Read Less

The entire cruise seemed to be focused around getting people as drunk as possible so they do not pay attention to the overcrowded ship with very poor options when it comes to entertainment and activities. Boasting the smallest pool on the seven seas, you would have to wake up at 4 am to get a decent spot at the pool. I didn’t see the staff remove anyone’s items from the lounge chairs when they haven’t been there for hours at a time. Want to go to Great Stirrup Cay? You better hope that the wind isn’t over 2 mph or your not getting on that island. I haven’t encountered a cruise line that has a private island that they can only use half of the time until now. The dining was the EXACT same throughout the entire cruise in the free dining areas. Their are so many better cruise lines to spend your money on. I would recommend that you skip this one. Read Less

So.. my hubby n brother n I... I am 54 years old just took our first cruise. 7 days. I'm going to give you my own opinion .. my impression ... Summed up... OH DEAR LORD!!! if y'all have ever been to Golden corral after church in Sunday ... You are just beginning to get the idea ... Multiply that a few times... This ship had 15 stories.. buffet on 15th floor . There were 4000 people on that ship .. getting anywhere was a nightmare of people ... Crowded doesn't even describe the confusion ... .. Unless you want to pay 500 bucks you have no internet (except ports where you might can get free WiFi).. TV has two channels .. bad b movies and bad b shows.. the rest are ship channels.. We never got in the pool .. crowded beyond belief . Very hard to even get a soda .. you had to find a bar and hope to get waited on. The only drinks are flavored water and unsweetened tea served in the buffet area no ice in rooms.. room service is extra Everything is charged to your room card which is connected to the credit card you have to file with then before you ever get there.. I spent first half of trip worrying I would end up with extra charges in my credit card .. The shows were full or sold out if you aren't there early to get a seat ... Or reserve one Disembarking for anything was a nightmare.. first figuring out where to go and when... Dear God the stress The food wasn't anything any other buffet in any restaurant would have ... The lines were long and trying to eat at one if the included in your package restaurant was like the pool... We never got in.. Too many people in one place for my liking .. getting a Pepsi at a bar was a nightmare.. easy things like that should not be such a challenge in vacation!!! I will never consider another cruise .. We only booked one excursion and it was rushed and the native people bombarded you from the minute you step off the ship trying to sell you things ... In your face ... From the minute you step into land .. and it was rushed from start to finish. Not relaxing at all These cruises are not as advertised!!! It's shove as many people on here as you can get .. and charge them as much as you can!! While our room was decent .. none if them are big . That was our only escape from people and everyone trying to sell you everything!!! We made the best of our time .. wasn't like they'd let me jump overboard and go back home Read Less

This was our 15th cruise and 3rd on NCL. I had a great time but that said, would probably pick a different class of ship next time. This was the largest ship we have been on and think we prefer the 3,000 passenger size better. Breakaway had a ton of options to try but if you are looking for a traditional ship feel then this wasn’t it. Embarkation at Port Canaveral was the smoothest and quickest we have ever had anywhere. We stayed at Disney Pop Century before the cruise and took the complimentary Magical Express bus to the MCO airport. (Set this up when you check in to the resort and make sure you load your luggage on the bus you are taking) Then we took the Go Port Canaveral bus to the port. Was on the ship in about 15 minutes. No waiting more than a couple minutes for anything. Food was great! Buffet was clean and food warm most of the time. Options changed daily but of course the favorites were there all the time. Pizza not that great but burgers were huge and the fries better than McDonald’s. Crepe bar in the evenings was awesome. If the buffet looks closed just check out the other side of the ship and you will likely find something. The main dining room food was good in taste and presentation but lackluster in options. They obviously were saving on cost by not offering much in the way of glamorous fare; a lot of chicken and pork dishes. However since most cabins are offered three specialty dining meals as a free option then that elevated the food to better than average. We ate at Teppanyaki; fun Beni Hana style Japanese cook. Cagney’s; super good steak house. And Maderno the Brazilian bar-b-que; lots of meat. The Fillet was excellent in all. Maybe not worth the upcharge if you have to pay cash but if it is a free promotion or you have cabin credit then definitely worth it. There is no poolside grill for a quick bite or any quick serve in the Atrium area unfortunately. O’Sheehans pub restaurant had great decor and decent food. There were some other free restaurants so lots of options but you have to look and read to find them. Overall food was good or better than average cruise fare. Activities were always going on somewhere. I didn’t attend much but my daughter said they were fun. Went to about 45 minutes of the Glow Party. That is the new White Out deck party. It starts at 11 pm (don’t believe the 10:45 time noted in the description) It was not a typical White Out party with black lights so white clothing did nothing to enhance the atmosphere. If you want to wear something special then pack neon colored clothing and glow sticks. The program was the Cruise Director (DJ) hyping up the crowd to get them to jump up and down and dance to the loud techno music repeated 100 times. The entertainment shows were very good. “Six” was a fun Spice Girls concert/history lesson but very hard for me to understand the British girl banter that was the bulk of the dialog. I am sure I missed a lot of humor. It would be helpful to brush up on Henry the 8th and his six wives history before the show. The magic/comedy show was the best I have ever seen anywhere. Saw a Queen tribute band that was amazing. If the show doesn’t take reservations, get there at least 30 minutes before or it will be full. My biggest complaint was the ever-present smoking areas and how they affect non smokers. Of course the Casino is smoking and being that it is gigantic and in the middle of everything, it contaminates the venues around mid-ship. You have to pass through the casino stench to get to a lot of places. On the pool deck there is a large smoking area that is cordoned off with Plexiglas strips which are open on top, bottom and front. This is located between the main pool and the kiddy-pool. The Plexiglas strips do nothing to contain the smoke so the main pool and kiddy-pool areas are smoke filled. The starboard half of the adult deck H20 is smoking so of course that means all that deck has smoke if the wind is blowing right. Most ships set up smoker areas that are higher and downwind of the public areas but not NCL. If you are a smoker then NCL wants to make it easy for you to enjoy smoking where everyone else is located. The word must be out because there seem to be a lot more smokers on the Breakaway than a normal ship. If you are bothered by smoke then pick another class ship. Service was great. The staff seemed happy and personable. Our room steward was quiet and cleaned well but did not interact at all. I think he is not comfortable with speaking English yet. If you asked nicely for something, the staff went out of their way to try to please you. I don’t drink but saw lots of bars with only a couple people and even bar service guys walking around the deck looking for drink orders. I saw some crowded bars during a venue but you didn’t have to look hard for a free bartender if you were willing to walk. The single pool was crowded of course and the deck around it filled up by 8 am with chair hogs. A curse on anyone who saves a chair for more than 30 minutes without using it! NCL does not enforce the “no saving chairs” rule. The water slides and ropes course was really good for a ship. The ship has a lot of people and NCL likes to put big events in small venues like the atrium where only a fraction of the people who want to see it can physically be present. This means you have to be diligent and get to the venue early to get a seat. Restaurant reservations are similar. You must plan well ahead. “Freestyle” actually means you have to schedule everything well in advance or you miss out. Be sure to get a tender boat reservation as soon as you get on the ship or as soon as they are available. Although our Cruise Director just ignored the tender ticket order and announced for everybody to show up at the tender deck which created a big crowd. Make sure you have the free NCL app downloaded and know how to use it. That tells you what is going on in the day, keeps your reservations straight, your account balance, etc. We didn’t do it but it would have been worth it to get the $10 pp upgrade for texting. Debarkation also quick. We picked 9:15 and they released several groups all at once with ours. A long line but went quick. Got on the last Go Port Canaveral bus. Overall, great cruise on a ship that could have been better managed to allow all guests an enjoyable time. Read Less

We chose this cruise due to the reasonable prices. We normally cruise Celebrity, Princess or Royal Caribbean but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this ship. I was concerned about it feeling too crowded after reading other reviews but the ship has many different areas that make it feel more intimate and private. CABIN- we had a mini-suite as our daughter was staying in the room with us (for 99.00), room was a bit larger than the typical balcony and the bathroom made it worth it. (nice double sink area so two people can get ready at once. DINING- the specialty restaurants were a step up from main dining or buffet. Highly recommend Ocean Blue and Teppanaki. The buffet did not have as many choices as Celebrity, and quality a little less than Celebrity as well. ENTERTAINMENT- we've been on about 10 cruises and the entertainment was the best we'd seen. Great comedians and the Burn show had fantastic dancers. We also enjoyed the talented women in the Six show. Also recommend the mojito tasting and ice bar, delicious drinks and good time. SERVICE- hit or miss. We had some waiters that were great. My husband had a bartender complaining that he only wanted to make easy drinks (bar was crowded), my husband ordered a mojito and the guy apparently was disgruntled. Our cabin steward had to make up the couch for my daughter. She only put a fitted sheet and comforter on top. When we asked her to put on another sheet she told us "we were lucky" that she had one. Some of the employees seemed annoyed that they had to serve you. We wanted to tip the servers, it took forever to get cash from guest services so bring plenty of small bills. All in all a fun cruise. We had a great time on this ship! Loved the entertainment! Six was amazing! The Waterfront was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view! Especially at Shakers, the martini bar. Do yourself a favor and try the Rum Cake Martini as an after dinner drink! The ropes course was lots of fun! Our only real complaint was the chair hogging around the pool deck. Wish more was done to prevent this. If everyone just used a chair when they wanted it and vacated it when they didn’t, this would not be an issue! We were sorry that we missed Great Stirrup Cay, but was glad that our safety was the primary concern. The other ports were enjoyable! I did have a bit of a mishap climbing Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica. It didn’t ruin our trip, but definitely could have. I recommend taking pictures from the staircase adjacent to the Falls and staying out of the water. We loved the Breakaway! Our room steward did an amazing job, and Benedict, at Margaritaville made incredible drinks! It was a wonderful winter getaway and we would do it again! Read Less

Our adult children stayed down the hall from us and loved their experience, as well. The restaurants we ate at were exceptional and we had a server named Nelson Messina who was especially wonderful. He was personable and connected with each person at our table. We were blessed to have him serve us several times. Another server we appreciated was Peter from Domica . He said he had worked for NCL for nearly 25 years and he was so interesting to talk to! Piano player Derrek Wayne was amazing! We enjoyed his arrangements and talent so much. He was fun, funny and made our vacation especially memorable. Thank you to all the NCL staff who work so hard to make our time away from work and home special! Read Less

The ship was clean the cabins were nice but limited storage for your clothes. The food was sub par and you were served the same thing everyday unless you paid extra in the specialty restaurants. I couldn't wait for each port to get off the ship so we could have a decent meal. The crew on this ship were the most miserable and rude bunch of people I have ever seen on a cruise, They NEVER smiled and definitely weren't happy to be there. It seemed like they hated their jobs! And my husband and I have been on just about every cruise line out there and never experienced anything like that. Room service was a joke, they would keep you on hold for so long you would hang up and go get what you wanted yourself. I waited 24 min before finally hanging up. The ports were nice but the ship changed it's itinerary 3 times before the ship even sailed so if you booked excursions early on you had to rebook each time they changed their itinerary and HOPE the things you wanted to do weren't full! They would have you make reservations to get off the ship and put you in a holding area and you would wait forever then once the holding area was full they would start letting people off the ship and the people that arrived 30 min after you would be let go first "not by reservation"! The shows would have been fun if the ship wasn't so overbooked that you could never find a place to sit and were all standing room only. I would not recommend this cruise line to anyone, They are NOT about customer service and for what you pay you should leave there somewhat satisfied! Read Less

My family has travelled on many cruises (15+) and cannot say we have ever had one bad experience. We have been on Carnival, Princess, Celebrity, and Costa and have never complained or been disappointed with any trip before. We were looking forward to this Norwegian cruise as we had heard that Norwegian cruises had really improved and updated their ships. I can honestly say I was blown away at what absolutely terrible service we received on this cruise. I hate to complain as I am sure there were many crew members who are excellent and perform their job in an excellent manner but unfortunately the many bad apples we encountered ruined the bunch for us. One example is our dining room service. Every single night we waited approx 20-30 to have a waiter walk over to provide us with a menu or give us water. One night we waited 30 minutes and he finally came around and just started taking our order. I hadn't even received a menu yet. Dinner would take approx 50-60 minutes to receive our appetizers, water was not refilled. Overall just terrible dining service. The staff were either very short staffed or did not know how to manage their tables. Another issue we had was during a family picture when the photographer was extremely rude and ignorant and left my husbands grandmother and uncle in tears. After setting up to take a family picture which included assisting a handicapped family member and 6 small young children the photographer then rudely said there were too many of us for the picture and we had to pay $200 if we wanted a picture taken. We then said no problem we will just take our own picture, the photographer rudely jumped in front of the random individual who was taking the picture and said no we could not do that. We then agreed to pay the $200 just so at this point we could take the picture and the photographer then said no because the location we were in was not big enough for us and was against safety regulations. At this point we had been set up for 5-10 minutes. Another 30 seconds to snap a picture I do not think would have made a difference. We then asked for a manager who came over. The individual was nice but provided no assistance. His suggestion was to "go over there" and take a picture. We had to ask him to show us as he just pointed and said "go over there". Following this incident we went to guest services and the individual was very nice and helpful. He said he would speak to his supervisor and see if he could help us get the family picture our grandmother wanted. 24 hours later I got a call from someone saying you can go to deck 16 and we will take your picture up stairs but its $200. No apology, no sorry for the inconvenience just pay $200 for us to snap the picture and then whatever else to buy them. Customer service is not a strength of Norwegian. Poor management, poor customer service. Service all around was bad. When asking for water we were rudely told "you're going to have to give me a minute." Staff were either unhappy or just tired. You can tell Norwegian does not put in the effort like other cruise lines. What sealed the deal for us was laughing at the daily itinerary booklets that came to the room each day to tell you what was going on around the ship. I am pretty sure they were written by a 10 year old. Spelling errors, grammatical errors, missing words. One day it even had the wrong ship name. It said " Enjoy your day on the Norwegian Pearl"... we were on the Norwegian Breakaway. These are only a few things of the many that ruined Norwegian for us. Do not waste your money or vacation time. I wouldn't take Norwegian again even if it was free. Norwegian has a long way to go to become comparable to the other lines. Read Less

Ok, I rarely write reviews however I frequently read them and appreciate the time and thought others put into them. I find it helpful in finding a good fit from similar perspectives so I will give a little background. I will start by saying we are very low maintenance sort of people and not fussed but servers falling over us. We much prefer a friendly and humorous staff, some people love the over the top service that is not us. No worries here we didn't get any of it, humorous or any real service really. We have cruised over 20 times in the last 30+ years. We are in our late 40's and we were travelling with a group of 14 16-83 years of age. two seniors, six early twenties late teenagers (2 from each family mostly girls) and six middle aged people (Three couples 40/50's). Kids are all in late high school, college or just finished. We are all avid travelers and love exploring the world. We thought this would be a good option for this spread in age The family is the only thing that made this ship bearable. You need your own group to make this cruise work, but good luck getting a dining reservation together or find a place to all gather to sit and chat before and after dinner. The ship itself if there were not so many people is very well appointed with average cabins no complaints really on the floorplan and décor. Restaurants were nice, casino was smoky but fine, bars were pretty and over all it was nicely done. Lots and lots of very nice places for photo ops if that is your thing, pretty stairs and backdrops by the elevators while you wait. And you will wait, and wait on this ship. Lines are everywhere and slow. Honestly for a cruise of this level I didn't have huge expectations, but I thought the food was above average. Honestly it was some of the best cruise food we have had over the years. The Ocean Blue had amazing food and our best waiter by far everything was seasoned and prepared well. The buffet was standard and just what you would expect in a cruise buffet, nothing special but not bad either with lots of options. The staff was very efficient and the tables were cleaned quickly and over all we didn't struggle too much to find seating here. No complaints and thought the buffet ran very smoothly. Lots of options and a good option when somebody wasn't thrilled with the regular dinner option or had dietary restrictions. If you didn't have rock solid reservations or wanted to change anything up at a restaurant it was a nightmare. Other than two exceptional waiters the staff was downright rude. The bartenders, wait staff and even the experiences at the front desk were all equally disappointing. Do not go on this ship for the service. It was impossible to get into even them main dining rooms and the servers were downright rude. They never smiled, didn't like questions and overall it was a rushed and unpleasant experience. The food was pretty good though if you were lucky enough to get into a place. Entertainment was actually pretty good. The show was Six and those girls killed it, wow. The 80s music was a huge hit and the Queen Flash show was very good as well. Our cabin was right over the bar so from soundchecks to the music set twice a night I experienced every day. I could even hear the patrons singing along. If you want a quiet cabin this isn't it. It doesn't bother me too much though in the scheme of things, but if you are sensitive to this sort of thing be aware of your location. We seemed to be in the back standing a lot through many shows. They had a comedian one night that was the main act that was the worst comedian I have ever seen. I absolutely love comedy the second guy was quite funny though. I actually walked out as he was just vulgar and insulting and not at all humorous, the people who stayed said it only got worse. The humor was just off on the trip in general with the grumpy staff. During the "cake battle" in the main atrium the guy thought it was funny to say if you are an alcoholic then you can simply add more alcohol to yours. I don't know of another affliction it is ok to joke about in this manner and I am not usually hyper sensitive, but it was inappropriate and not funny. I would recommend replacing that joke in the future it is unnecessary and not funny to those who have to deal with the realities of the affliction and are already surrounded by alcohol and drunks the entire trip with little support and probably came to the "cake battle" to be away from a bars and drunks. Just overall not cool, just sayin'. Bars were always crowded and it always took a long time to get a drink as just about everybody was on the drink package. I think a lot of people are using the dining packages too as those places were hard to get into unless it was super early or late reservations and you were blessed to get one at all if you didn't pre-book that part of the trip. The ports are standard love Grand Cayman and we had a great time at the private island but only because we forked over the money to get a villa. The tender situation was a painful process. Overall this ship could be great. Take your own party and do your planning, make those reservations early. Plan on paying a lot of upcharges if you want any kind of better experience and even if you are willing to pay the availability may not be there if you plan late. We are very frequent cruisers and have been on many lines and many ships of all sizes this ship is not run well for this many passengers. I would not take this cruise again and I am not sure the experience could have been too much better even with a lot of planning and money thrown at it. It is simply too crowded with a salty over worked crew from the waiters to the casino to the bartenders. It's clear they are asking way too much of the staff and it shows. Read Less

This was mine and my boyfriends first cruise. We went on the 7 day western Caribbean cruise. The first 2 days went good, our room was always cleaned, food was decent, and drinks were great. However, this all started to go down hill when we decided to visit the spa for a couples massage. We both have gotten swedish massages before and knew what to expect. Everything started off normal, they asked us if we have gotten massages before and where our trouble areas were. We both said our back and shoulders were the worst. However, this massage just ended up being them lightly rubbing my back for 5 minutes, then proceeded with the arms, legs, and then got to my head. I expected her to maybe rub my shoulders at this point, since she has not gotten any knots out.No, she proceeded to untie my hair and then began playing with my hair for atleast 20 minutes. Not even rubbing the scalp, but just braiding my hair and brushing it with her fingers. Once the massage was done I shared how terrible my massage was with my boyfriend, only to learn that his masseuse wasn't massaging him for half of it! We think she thought he was asleep because he said after he made some noise she immediately resumed the massage. To top this off the massage was over $300 and we could not get reimbursed. The other downfall to the cruise was our stop in Ocho Rios Jamaica. This port was changed 3 times on our itinerary before the actual cruise date. We had not had an excursion booked for this day, due to the port being changed so many time our excursions got cancelled. We had planned on just hanging out at the beach. The port we were dropped off on was under construction and surrounded by literal barb wired fences with locals on the otherside screaming and shaking the fence. We immediately felt unwelcomed and headed back to the ship, majority of the guests got the same feeling and went back to the ship as well. Food was ok, but the portions at the restaurants were very small, leaving us to go to the buffet afterwards. My boyfriend ended up getting food poisoning one of the days. We came to find out others on the ship also did that day as well. My feelings about the cruise are up and down, the weather was great and so were the on ship entertainment. Read Less

I have sailed on Norwegian four or five times, so I had a pretty good idea what to expect this time and, indeed, this cruise conformed to my expectations. Basically, this is a medium giant ship with lots and lots of activities for kids - minigolf ( the course could use some rehab); ping pong; water slides; rope climbs, bingo etc. Family upgrade cabin 12772 has bunk beds below and from ceiling a la Disney, but very small and crowded for me and my 13 and 10 year old. Small balcony. Small and undistinguished bathroom. Generally clean ship staffed almost entirely by Asians who were universally polite and friendly, but frequentlyi lacking in fluent English - the absence of any cadre of Eastern Europeans in any visible capacity suggests that Norwegian is squeezing the pennies on staff wages. Oftentimes, our cabin was not even serviced until 1-2 pm. Oh well. Buy the adult drink package and the specialty restaurant package. Not sure you really need the kids soda package, as nobody in the numerous bars and restaurants pays much attention to that. Fresh squeezed juice in the morning for an extra $3 is well worth it. Overall, the breakfast buffet was pretty good ( eggs and omelets made to order ), the lunch buffet was pretty bad unless you like hamburgers which were pretty good; the dinner in the two standard restaurants was OK, although the food generally showed up more warm than hot ( but I did like the "restaurant" character ), Cagney's was very good and all of us loved the Bistro. Can't stand the smell of stale smoke that permeates floors 6-8 from the casino. House cabernet was quite good and your alcohol package will get you top shelf drinks, although the wait times at the bars was sometimes excruciatingly long. On "sailing " days, I tried to avoid the pool deck as much as possible as it is an unbelievable cacaphony of music, noise and pell-mell which is fine with my boys but not me. Get up early to "claim" your lounger as otherwise you will be screwed on those days even though lounger "claiming" is not technically permitted. Stay away from the pool deck on embarking day. The Carribean ports were standard fare and Ocho Rios has not improved. One day, I may shell out for some peace and quiet on the Haven deck, but the cost is pretty stiff. I'd rather spend my money on a regular cabin on Viking or Seabourne..Happy Trails. Read Less

Chose to take my young adult children on a trip post Christmas to bond and have fun. Boat filled to capacity with over a quarter being young kids. Elevators were almost always completely full. Our cabin was slightly small for three of us and the steward left the couch made as a bed the whole week. He was very pleasant and thorough in the cleaning daily. We would not have had dinner reservations if I had not prebooked. Had excellent food and service at Cagneys and at Moderno and very good at La Cucina. The food at Velvet was terrible and so was the service - but the show was very entertaining, as was Burn the Floor. I hate that the smoke from casino is not walled off from the rest of the ship - I have asthma and it is terrible not to be able to get away from it to walk through the center/Atrium. I had little trouble getting drinks at bars inside or outside. I thought the employees were very polite and genuine. This was way too crowded and they let opening coughing sick kids and adults run amuck - kids stuck their faces in the softserve ice cream machines at buffet - no parent around! Excursions: Enjoyed Cozumel tour of local ruins but the guides were definitely getting kickbacks to have the gift shops and restaurants pushed on us. The beach stop was very pretty and employees worked hard though. They kept trying to sell on endangered black coral jewelry - not eco friendly tourism. Grand Cayman was a pit. Discovering Cayman tour was abominable - Guide was one continuous ramble about anti-environmentals and how they were ruining tourism. The spots we went were not scenic - except maybe "Hell" and that was only because it was so kitschy -so cheesy. The turtle farm was a rush job and no one took us around or explained anything to us. The tortuga factory was a sales pitch and you could not walk in it was so crowded. I saw nothing appealing at all. Jamaica port was terrible, put us in at the industrial port, not cruise port - not accessible to shopping or enjoyment of the port area. Big Stirrup Cay was very pleasant - we got there early and sat on beach and daughters snorkeled with our own equipment. Later that day, we all started coming down with respiratory infections that moved into bronchitis immediately. Ruined the whole trip to start healthy and leave very ill (am still very ill). Last three evenings Spice H2o parties were so loud the walls vibrated from people jumping at command of band/dj until 2pm and we were three decks down. High point - given help to tender off because I was using a cane for a back injury. I appreciated the wheelchair service. However, could not find our bags and they were put in the wrong color section at port. I don't believe I received the value paid for this vacation plus I am now paying to treat a miserable illness. The Breakaway was always clean and tidy and in very good shape. The layout is nice. The cabins were small, but well designed. One bummer: no college football was anywhere to be found during the bowl season. We loved being able to walk around the ship outdoors and sit and chat by the sea. Specialty restaurants were plentiful and nice. We enjoyed Teppanyaki and Moderno. The food at non-specialty restaurants was ok – comparable to Carnival but not as good as Royal Caribbean or Princess. Bar-wise, we loved the Shakers Martini Bar. It was usually not very crowded and quiet and comfortable. We really enjoyed that the shops are not all in your face hawking their merchandise. The layout is almost such that you never have to see a shop unless you want to. We were not disturbed too much by photographers as well. The atmosphere on the ship was laid back and great. Even though it is a big ship, it was easy to find your quiet spot, sit, and use your drink package (which is a must have!). As this was our first NCL trip, we had to get used to making reservations for dinner and to many shows or attractions. Once we did, it was not a problem. The Ice Bar was great. Six was a good show as well. Excursions: We did Mr. Sancho’s in Cozumel. It was fantastic in every way. We would highly recommend it. In Grand Cayman, we did the Snorkeling and Sting Ray excursion with Captain Marvin. It was very good and much cheaper to book directly that with the cruise line. In Ocho Rios, we did the Dunn’s River Falls and Whitewater Rafting Excursion with Karandas Tours/Excursions in Jamaica/Dwight Soares. Dunn’s River Falls was crowded but a lot of fun. Whitewater rafting was entertaining, but not the least bit thrilling. The tour operator was just ok. We loved Great Stirrup Cay. It was very crowded. NCL put 4,900 passengers on the island that is realistically equipped to handled 3,800 or so. Once we found a spot, everything was fun and tranquil. The food on shore was ok. The bars were almost impossible to get to during the stay at Great Stirrup Cay. The island is seriously under-barred and under-restauranted for the amount of people. All in all, it was an excellent cruise and any concerns I had about sailing NCL were unfounded. We would definitely do the Breakaway and NCL again. Read Less

We chose the Breakaway for a group of four families (19 of us in total, including teens and young adults) because it fit in our families' schedules. It was a treat to spend New Year's Eve on such a great ship. I read a lot of negative reviews during the time leading up to our cruise and became a little nervous about what we might experience. As a group, we were very pleased with the level of service we received and didn't see any evidence of the negative comments others had posted. I have a nut allergy and received excellent attention from the Assistant Maitre D', Marliza. There was an erroneous charge on our account the first night and it was promptly handled by Evidente at Financial Services. The service staff worked really, really hard all week since the cruise was filled to capacity. Despite such demands, we didn't ever feel like we waited an unreasonable amount of time for anything. If a particular bar was swamped, we simply went to another. The food was delicious, although my young adult son wished the portions were bigger. I wish there was something that could be done about the lack of lounge chairs available on sea days, but that is an on-going issue for every cruise line, I hear. Both embarkation and disembarkation went well enough. The tendering process was rather confusing despite an attempt to group people by time slots. The show 'Six' was absolutely fantastic! This is a very high quality show with excellent performers/musicians. 'Burn the Floor' was also very enjoyable. There is so much talent evident in these productions. I highly recommend them. Our favorite nighttime hangout was Syd Norman's Pour House because the band that plays there is excellent. They perform classic rock and do it well. The instrumentalists and the vocalists are really good. I wish the venue was bigger. Every night that we went was jam-packed. The wait staff couldn't circulate and most people had to stand. That is evidence that the band is of a high caliber. My husband and I bought the spa passes so we could use the Thermal Suite for the week. It was a lovely, tranquil oasis from the crowds. We think, however, that the one on the Gem was better laid out. Others might think differently. In another comparison to the Gem, there was a lot more storage/drawer space in our stateroom on the Gem. Our inside cabin on the Breakaway, though, was functional and the bathroom was a good size. It was a great trip full of memory-making for our four families. Read Less

The good: -Boarding process: Left out of Port Canaveral and from the time we arrived via hotel shuttle to the port (around 11, boarding started at 12 on paper but they started early) to the time we set foot on the ship was around 25 minutes. We waited maybe 5 mins at most outside to be let into the terminal and once we started moving, we never stopped other than the check in desk until we set foot on the ship. Was really impressed with how quick boarding process was. -Food: Did not have one bad meal on the whole cruise. We ate at taste, sushi bar, la cucina, moderno, buffet, le bistro, and ocean blue and did not have one bad meal. Food was amazing. Buffet food was a bit bland IMHO but it's buffet food. Can't really speak about the breakfast because I didn't eat breakfast once on the whole trip but my boyfriend said it was good. -Drinks: didn't drink too many frozen drinks or premixed drinks but liquor selection was good for the free at sea beverage package and had not problem getting my buzz on, this is coming from a heavy drinker. Martinis at shaker's were great, as were the bartenders there, same goes sid norman's pour house and spice h20 staff. Take care of them, don't be rude and they will take care of you. Ship could have a bit better beer selection but not bad. -Service: We were on a completely full ship during once of the busiest vacation weeks of the year and my BF and I both think the staff did an amazing job with service. From servers, bartenders, guest services, to our room attendant, no complaints at all. Ship was kept very clean as well. -Entertainment: We saw burn the floor and the band at sid norman's pour hour house. They were both great. DJ at 80s night could've been better. DJ for NYE party at spice h20 was good. -Ship: This being my first cruise, did not have much to compare this to as far as the actual ship but I thought the decor was nice, layout was a bit confusing at times at first but I picked it up over the next few days. Cannot really comment on pool since we didn't spend much time there, opting instead for spice h20, which we both loved and spent a ton of time at. I would say, if pool space is important to you, might want to consider a larger ship (symphony of the seas, etc) as I though pool space seemed limited on breakaway. The not-so-good: Wifi: Paid for unlimited premium wifi package for both BF and I so we didn't have to worry about sharing 1 internet package. With the amount of money NCL is charging for internet packages, the speed should really be a lot faster. Yes, yes I know, you're on vacation, you're supposed to disconnect but us both being self-respecting millennial internet junkies, we have to have it. Did several speed tests throughout the cruise and I think fastest I got was 3 megs, at around 3am when nobody else is online. At most other times, if you get the internet package, you are going to be waiting for stuff to load. Read Less

We first sailed on the Sun in 2010...The ship is an older one (2000 I believe) but the upgrade in 2018 really made the ship look new. We originally had a family ocean-view but bid $140 (x2) for an upgrade and got a balcony two days before we sailed! I also bid on a mini-suite but did not get it sadly. The bidding game is kinda fun! Getting on the ship was the fastest we ever experienced! Room was ready by 130pm and baggage was delivered at 230pm. When we tendered to Stirrup Cay it was quick and easy with no lines and the same goes for when we got home. For a sold out cruise it was amazing! The cabin was really clean, well laid out and roomy (for a cruise ship anyway). Bathroom a bit tight but we also like to RV so we are used to small bathroom showers! Bed was VERY comfortable, but the convertible sofa not so much for our two adult children with us...a bit like sleeping on the floor they said (hard). Balcony was GREAT to have and the in room coffee maker was a really great thing to have as well! We were on 10th floor, port side AFT (Room 10062). Some noise from chairs on pool deck but other than that the AC was great, water hot and pressure great, lots of places to plug in phones and was very clean. Room steward was very good as well. Dining was very nice. We ate in Seven Seas one night (dress accordingly), Four seasons once then hit buffets the rest of the cruise. Kids ate in Sushi Bar on 12 one night, they said it was great. Food was very good, appetizers and entrees changed nightly in all restaurants (to keep things different) and quality was very good. Buffets were also rotated...Mexican one night, american the next...etc We watched both main shows and loved them. The quality of the dancers.singers was better than expected and the shows were entertaining and enjoyable. The final night show with the crew was really the best. We also spent time in the Windjammer listening to the piano player (great by the way) as well as did several trivia games, newlywed and couple games and also spent time each night in Spinnakers watching Karaoke after 10pm. The casino was eh...I brought money expecting to play but the table minimums were too high and the electronic games were really "rigged" or set so you never win anything...avoid them at all costs! Drink package was AMAZING and the service, for the most part, at the bars was good. Expect to wait when it gets crowded. I read a few complaints about the sales tactics on board and must agree...My wife and I spent around $400 (with extra tip) for couple massage and were hit with a lengthy sales pitch afterwards...really took the enjoyment out of a really good massage. We did not buy anything because of this high pressure sales tactic. As far as the other sales pitches...simply don't go see them! Great Stirrup Cay was really nice (ocean freezing...but it is December mind you) and we spent about three hours there. Rented the covered lounge chairs for the afternoon and later found that the shore excursion credit we did not used covered them! :) Overall we loved the trip and already booked the Sun for our next cruise in October (14 days thru the Panama canal). The smaller ship keep lines and crowds to a minimum, few children running around and the clientele seem more "adult" and behaved than on Carnival (mad house usually)...and with the smaller ship we don't have to fight to eat, swim or get a lounge chair! We booked this cruise because we wanted something in the 3-5 day range, somewhere warm, and that spanned Christmas. Our ship was The Sun and embarkation went great. We showed up earlier than we were supposed to, but they were already boarding some groups. We waited a minimal amount of time. They tagged our bags outside, which showed up in our room later without any issues. Overall, I liked the ship. Everything was kept clean and in good condition. They need more public restrooms though. For food, we at at the Four Seasons, Garden Cafe, The Great Outdoors, Moderno Churrascaria, and Teppanyaki. The food at Moderno Churrascaria was amazing. Everything else food related was just average at best. The Garden Cafe can be a pain to navigate. The layout causes bottlenecks in a couple spots. On board entertainment was mixed. Most of the stuff in the Bliss Lounge was borderline terrible, the George Lopez wannabe in particular. The Rock You Tonight show was amazing and I would highly recommend it. We spent a couple nights in the Windjammer and the piano guy was pretty good. Our bartender there, Ardie, was amazing. As was Olga in the Spinnaker. Photography services were mixed. The pictures we seen were good, but several of our photo ops were not in our binder. The pricing on pictures is terribly expensive in my opinion. It cost us $150 for 5 pictures with digital copies. Laundry services were very expensive and the one time I used it, they didn't deliver until I called and reminded them, a day after it was expected. I would not rely on it if I were to cruise with NCL in the future. We had to tender at our second port, which delayed us almost 2 hours, only to find our excursion was canceled without reason. However, the ship staff on the pier were awesome at getting us another one booked ASAP. With only one other cruise to compare to, this trip was sub-par. Unless there is some type of package in the future that is too good to refuse, I don't see us taking another NCL cruise. Read Less

Our family of 12 chose the Norwegian Breakaway for our Christmas Cruise. We had eight adults and four children ranging in ages 11 to 17. We were so excited to go on this Cruise and planned for over 12 months. Boy were we disappointed! In general, the boat seemed severely understaffed. Service at the restaurants and at the bars were incredibly slow. At times we waited over 30 minutes for a drink by the pool. We ordered virgin drinks for the children and on at least three different occasions, the drinks were served WITH alcohol. We had 3 staterooms and every day there was something wrong with at least one of them. Clogged showers that flooded the bathrooms, no AC, no electricity, showers that didn't work, and or clogged toilets became part of our daily routine. Sometimes the issues were fixed quickly and other times it took hours. There was one main pool which is an adult only pool. There was a kiddie pool but it wasn't heated and only allowed for a small number of kids. They have slides but they were always closed or they would only have one open with a massive line. The rock climbing wall and sky walk were rarely open due to weather and when they were, the line was crazy long. None of our four kids got to go on either of these during the seven days that we are on the cruise. Everything costs extra and any activities for the kids closed at 10. They do have a kids area called Entourage but it was always full and there was usually a line of kids waiting to get in. My kids got to go in once. We couldn't do ping pong, basketball, or anything after 10. Thank God I thought to bring a deck of cards otherwise we would have had nothing to do. Maybe there was more things for the little kids but nothing for the tweens. Our first Port was scheduled for Great Stirrup Cay. We were excited because we paid for an excursion to swim with the pigs. However, due to inclement weather (or so they said) we got rerouted to Nassau. So instead of an all-inclusive day at the beach, we had to walk around the streets of Nassau trying to figure out what to do. There was nothing to do. Norwegian was running a special at the time that we booked and so we got to experience three of their upgraded dining rooms. Moderno was a joke. Blue Ocean had excellent service but served undercooked seafood. Eating at Teppanyaki was the highlight of our trip. The servers and the cooks were friendly, outgoing, and actually seemed happy to be there. Everyone else on this ship was miserable and some of them were even downright rude, completely dismissing you while in the middle of a conversation with them. The all-you-can-drink package sounded good in the beginning until the server's realize that they didn't have to work very hard for a tip anymore. My husband and I come from service backgrounds. 20% is a minimum an our book. However the service on this boat was so bad that by the third day we insisted that the auto gratuity be removed. We started tipping people accordingly with cash instead. We met some other really great families that also complained about the service and lack of activities on the boat. Some of them said that they had been on Norwegian Cruise line many times before and this particular Cruise was the worst they have ever experienced. I would give anything to go back and pick a different cruise line. Did our family have fun? Of course! But for the amount of money that we spent on this cruise and the excursions, it would have been nice to leave the ship with better memories. I will never go on another NCL ship again. Norwegian could call and offer me a free Cruise and a million dollars and I still wouldn't go. Read Less

This was our second time on the Breakaway. Our first time was wonderful, so needless to say, we were excited about our Christmas cruise. We are avid cruisers.... and this was our 4th time cruising during Christmas. This was, by far, the worst holiday experience we have had. This boat was WAY overbooked! On sea days you could not escape a crowd. There were people everywhere! Impossible to get a chair on pool deck...impossible to get any specialty dining reservations... no seats at Trivia...etc. Heard at a Cruise Next presentation that the boat, which on average carries around 4000 passengers, had over 4900 for this week! We had dinner in Manhattan Room twice ...The poor dining room staff didn’t know whether they were coming or going! Lots of confusion and awful service. Food was sub-par at best! We paid extra for the Velvet dinner show... show itself was good...not worth extra $ though.....but, service and food was terrible. (We went to buffet later that same night for soft serve, and realized our exact meal came from the buffet...why the extra charge then!?) Once again, servers were confused and seemed “put out” when we reminded them that they forgot to bring dessert to 3 people at our table, or when we ordered drinks from the bar. The one bright spot, besides being with family, was the entertainment. “Burn the Floor” and “Six” were both fantastic. NCL is typically our cruise line of choice. But this cruise will make us rethink our options. Read Less

We had been planning this as our family Christmas gift for several months. We are a family of 4, husband and wife early 50s, 14 yo son, 17 yo daughter. Cruise started off rocky when we noticed our drink packages missing from our key cards. Who wants to spend the first exciting hours of a cruise in guest services lines. Upside, the problem was easily remedied and that crew member very pleasant. Not so much the shore excursion crew member who seemed to want to be anywhere but helping us with the excursion that had to be dropped because of itinerary change. Without boring you with details, we ended up having to walk away and seek assistance elsewhere. Even though we still didn't get the answer we had hoped, at least this other person was more diplomatic and made sense. We were determined to not let a rough start ruin the whole week so we powered on with optimism. Unfortunately, I spent much time biting my tongue and rolling my eyes on this trip. While we did have fun and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment (the kids and I LOVED Six and Burn the Floor!), overall the crew was listless, restaurant and bar service was the slowest we have ever experienced on a ship, and crew really didn't seem to care if passengers were actually attended to. (Big exception....our cabin steward was great. Kind, helpful and considerate.). A good example of the overall poor customer service.... when approaching the host podium at the main dining rooms, not once the entire week did the host/hostess greet us when we arrived. It was as if we were bothering them. It really takes no break in concentration to look up for a second, smile and say something like , "welcome, if you would wait for just a moment while I finish....". Disappointing. The major complaint I have is the general feeling of disorganization. I never felt like things were well explained. A cruise vacation is a time for the guests to be able to relax and be loose but the crew should have their act together. It did not feel that way. The wait for a tender back from Grand Cayman screamed disorganization! We were told the last tender was 3:00. Our excursion (which was awesome, btw) returned in plenty of time, about 2:10. The line wound around a blazing hot parking lot with only one person "in charge" that we could see. We didn't board a tender until 3:30 and there were still many behind us. Water and cool cloths were not available until almost the end...these should have been brought around as we were winding around like cattle in the sun! You can imagine the chaos and tempers in this scenario. I had many smaller gripes but I feel like most things wouldn't have bothered me if I had not already been disillusioned. I do want to end with some positive things. We felt the food was excellent. We chose to dine every evening in one of the main dining rooms, Manhattan Room being our favorite. The buffet, while not always excellent in quality, sufficed and offered nice options. I suggest eating in Margaritaville for breakfast... it's a smaller buffet and included but much, much less crowded. O'Sheehan's was probably my favorite lunch spot. There were some individual crew members that were excellent, including our cabin steward and my favorite bartender in the Spice H2O bar. The dolphin/stingray excursion on Grand Cayman was our favorite. We would have stayed longer if we could have. Best of all was the entertainment staff. My daughter is interested in the creative arts and talented in music and theatre, hoping to make a career in the field one day. She was able to talk with cast members and dancers and musicians about their work. All were delighted to speak with her, so friendly and happy to pose for pictures with her. In summary, we had a good vacation....it was Christmas, after all....but too many problems that should be easily avoided mean we will not sail with Norwegian again. Read Less
