This was our first time on one of NCL's larger ships - and may be our last. The layout of the Escape leaves something to be desired, because when ship is at full capacity it's hard to even walk properly on some decks. We spent over an hour trying to find just two chairs together on any deck on the sea days - and I'm not exaggerating. The atrium area gets so crowded for shows that you cannot even ...
This was our first cruise and NCL has made us return customers. I had read some of the reviews on this site prior to sailing and was a little concerned! After our 7 days, there was absolutely nothing bad enough that would keep us from coming back.
The highs: the staff, the activities for kids (ours are 2 & 4), the rooms, the cleanliness, the constant cleaning, the food, the itinerary, ship ...
I must start this by saying we have been on numerous NCL cruises and always found them to be 5 stars.
We went on the Epic the week of January 21st. The Epic was the filthiest NCL ship I have ever been on. The banisters were so dirty I used a hand sanitizer every time I came off the steps. The windows, and the balcony were disgusting. The room set up was awful, there was no real bathroom. There ...
I've found you either love cruising, or try it and find that cruising is not for you. We fall into the former bucket and have been on 20 odd cruises over the years. We've sailed with NCL, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess, and generally find more similarities than differences across lines. That said, we tend to prefer NCL.
My wife and I sailed on the Epic not long after it was first ...
For starters we are a traveling family. So we are well travelled. We heard many great things about cruises and was told that as far as cruise lines “Norwegian” is top tier. As first time cruisers we decided to splurge and go with what as been advertised and described as the best.
We chose this cruise line because it was supposed to be luxury and family friendly. This was not the case. What we ...
We chose a cruise to go to the Bahamas, Cozumel, Belize, and Rotoan. The itinerary changed three times. First two, changing days around. I was told I now needed a passport to get into Belize so no problem my wife and I spent almost $600 expediting passports. Sure enough, they cancel Belize (the only reason we booked this cruise) and add Costa Maya…fine it happens. Next, they canceled the Bahamas ...
After sailing on RCL Odyssey of the Seas and Wonder of the Seas we noticed a definite decline in the quality of the food, the cabin service and certain alcohol selections. While RCL has diminished it's food quality in exchange for a "Quick Meal Menu" NCL"s food selections and actual preparation with attention to taste is far superior. RCL's cabin service has been cut down from daily to once a ...
Our cruise experience started off with a bad note right from the start. This is my 3rd cruise first on Norwegian. Connecting with the app was a nightmare sending me to customer service right off. Was told the new Wi-Fi will not be available for several hours because they were changing accounts from the previous cruise. Several hours later it wasn’t much better. We found out in order to keep in ...
First, this was the first time I've ever been on a cruise for more than 1 day. This was a 7 day Caribbean cruise. Overall, it wasn't much different than staying at a floating theme resort. The stops along the way definitely were worth the trip. That said, there isn't much out there to prepare a Newby for such an experience. The staff was nice, but not very helpful. They couldn't answer any ...
Our 7-day Caribbean cruise aboard the NCL Epic was mostly a failure. The only thing epic was all the lines we stood in to see or do anything. Lines to get drinks, see shows, board tender boats, and even the dining had lines. The worst was the 45+ minute wait in line to board a tender boat on the private island to return to the ship, not to mention the lines for drinks and food on the island. ...
