Positive first time experience with Norwegian

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Epic

So first of all, I am an avid reader of reviews. I like to be a well informed consumer. Let me say after reading the reviews about this ship and this cruise I was more than nervous about going on my vacation. I didn't pick this cruise. We were invited to go along with a group of 10 friends and family. But I would have never picked this cruise based on the reviews people had given it. So sad. ...

This was our 8th Cruise, 6th on NCL, 1st on Epic and 1st on ship over 2500 capacity. 0ur check-in was very fast, but when we got onboard rooms were not ready and it almost impossible to get elevator, had to drag our carry on bags around for about 2 hours. Elevators were problem entire cruise. We stayed on 11th floor and over 10 elevators passed without stopping .finally walked down to 10th floor ...

After a lot of reading on Cruise Critic, we choose this ship and itinerary for timing and ease of port (flying in from Toronto). The reviews on Cruise Critic helped a lot so i won't repeat what i discovered here already but here are a few things i learned onboard. SHIP We learned that the carpets are coloured red/orange for port side and blue for starboard. The elevators also have the same ...

I did the cruise as a solo. The Solo program with a coordinator and Barteneder in the lounge was excellent. Front row seats for theater events! Group dinners were great. We did change ports, and missed Stirrup caye, We were told it was for an electrical issue. but more likely for an unfortunate death involving alchol while at sea. We did not disembark until late only after the ...

I chose the Epic because it has Studio cabins on two decks. Excellent for a solo traveler. Someone from the cruise directors staff looks after the solo travelers with restaurant and theatre reservations. The studio Lounge bar is staffed from 5;PM TO 7:00 pm each evening. Wonderful staff on the Epic. Lots of activities on board. i was able to sit in on Drums with the Jam Rock band and the Party ...

We had the drink package and 3 specialty dinner package and this was very nice. We only ate in the dining room on 2 nights. The Cirque dreams show and dinner was nice also. The food in general was very good . There are many choices for places to dine. The casino is very large. It did take us about an hour and a half to register and board the ship. Getting off the ship took about an hour ...

I have been on other cruises but always with family. Now they can't travel as much and neither can my friends so I am choosing to fly solo sometimes to get away as often as I wish. 10th cruise, 3rd on NCL, 1st solo. I liked it a lot. Met some great people, and never had to feel alone but also did not have to feel like I had to have my own space as I had my own cabin and access to the ...

Went solo on this 14 day cruise. It was a lively cruise with great staff and fun entertainment. Liked the single rooms. Small but adequate for one. Embarkation was lengthy and people were left standing in the rain and cold way too long. Disembarkation was one big mess. The 14 days on the cruise were fun. Lots of complaints around me in regards to poor service and ncl not living up to expectations ...

We bought this cruise because we wanted to find some warm weather in our winter. I think we were unlucky, the itinery called for two sea days which were both a wash out. Cozumel Mexico was very disappointing as was Ocho Rios. The highlight was Stirrup Cay Norwegians private island. In Ocho Rios (Jamaica) we did the 'Best of Ocho Rios ' excursion. Some people chose to climb the Dunn River Falls, it ...

Enjoyable Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We did a back to back cruise on the Epic ... first week Western Caribbean and then Eastern Caribbean. We've cruised with Norwegian before but this was our first "big ship" experience. People need to keep in mind that there are over 4000 people on these cruises - it's a process to embark and disembark and patience is needed but we didn't see it with many people. Our taxi driver got us to the ...
