“An EPIC Failure!!”

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Epic

My wife and I just completed a 7 day cruise on NCL’s ship the “Epic” (April 13-20, 2019). The cruise was out of Port Canaveral. We were extremely disappointed. As a former U.S. naval officer, I know the problems we encountered were not the result of the ship’s design or condition or even that of the crew. It must rest solely on the shoulders of the officers. I have been on more than 20 cruises ...

To begin, this is not the first time we have sailed with NCL it is the 7th for me and the 9th for my Wife dating back to 2005. It is the very first negative review I have submitted on NCL. We have even sailed on the Epic before and enjoyed it very much. But alas, that is old news. To begin with, the Epic is a Large Ship. Built in 2010 and refurbished in 2015, it is 155,873 tons, 1,081 feet ...

ALL INCLUSIVE RESORTS ( PALACE) NEXT TIME

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We choose the Epic because our friends were going and we were asked to join them as opposed to our normal Palace Resorts trips in the caribbean or Mexico this year. Never again. The staff was great but the nickel/dime concept of the trip was crazy. Everything from bourbon, shrimp cocktails and the list goes on is upcharged. For them to also advertise an excursion day when we actually only have 2 ...

Too many people

We like ships wth no more than 320O passengers. Have sailed various lines in the last 10 years. Decided to try a bigger ship. A mistake. Too many passengers and too many had complimentary drink package. So the ship, was full of too many drunks, mostly ages 35-55 who were loud, disruptive, particularly in dinner dining rooms. If you don’t have a reservation for dinner you will wait in a line. ...

Not a fan

I chose this cruise because of the reviews that I had read. The ship is way over crowded and there is not enough room around the outside areas for everyone to enjoy. The food was sub par. It was always cold and did not seem fresh. The mini-suit bathroom, where the toliet is located is way to small. It was set up strangely where the shower is across the small hall from the toliet area, both have ...

I want to start this off by saying that this was our first cruise. We sailed with friends who have cruised several times previous and so we had expectations of what we would experience. We were super excited for this cruise, and were really amped for the experience. We did book through a travel agent, so I can't comment on ease of booking because we had a fantastic agent who took care of ...

First-time cruiser - disappointed with Epic and probably cruising altogether.

Highlights: 1. Being with friends 2. Putu (steward) did a great job for us. 3. Jennifer and Mary in the spa did a great job for us. 4. Coki Beach in St. Thomas Things I didn't expect: 1. Having to wait in line for almost everything. 2. Not having wait staff taking drink orders with any regular/predictable pattern. 3. Not being able to find seating on the deck without ...

Once on Epic was Enough, never again

We have been on 7 NCL cruise, and this was the worst. If this had been our first NCL cruise, it would be the last! I also think the drink package - which we use - has created too many drunk idiots running around on board. Never cruise during spring break or any other time school is out unless you are forced to cruise with children. haha There were unsupervised children at bars, casino, ...

Pick another ship or cruise line!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We were first time cruisers and picked NCL for the freestyle cruise option and free drink package. We should have done more research! The boat is very clean and most staff was very pleasant and helpful but are overworked. The kids program was terrible and more like a poor daycare with not much going on. Our kids hated it! Pools were small and if you weren’t up on the deck by 6 am you wouldn’t get ...

Some Awful & Some Bright Spots

I will start this review with how horrible the disembarkation process was for this ship and that this ship was too large for Port Canaveral and Grand Cayman. Never in all of our years of cruising have we ever saw the disorganization that we saw on the Epic. We are seasoned cruisers (Platinum Plus with NCL) and picked this cruise purely because the dates worked to take our young grandchildren. ...
