First Haven Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Epic

Our first time in Haven on Transatlantic Cruise this April 2019. We had such high expectations based on everything I had read. Took two days until we met our Butler - were we supposed to track him down? Snacks we preordered before the cruise were never delivered. Did not prebook anything - was told to wait and let the Concierge do it. Finally met him on 2nd day and got 2nd choice on 3 of the ...

A Pleasant Surprise, But Too Much Planning Needed!

After reading so many negative reviews, I wasn't even looking forward to our cruise. However, we couldn't cancel it, so I decided to prepare as much as possible and follow tips from previous passengers. We had never cruised on a ship this size before, and found that it was like visiting a big city versus a small town. We enjoyed the perks of a big city, such as entertainment, activities and good ...

The variety of ports of call were the mail reason we selected this cruise. I feel that most of the entertainment was geared to adults, so there was not much evening entertainment that I felt comfortable taking my 12 year old to. We were pleased with the staff and the crew. The cabin was comfortable and we were not put-off with the layout, as several other guests commented about. The dining was ...

We chose this cruise for my 50th Birthday. It was the first cruise for both of us and I was very nervous because of reading a lot of negative reviews. But we had a great time! We knew there would be crowds and lots of kids because my birthday was the week before Easter, so we booked a Spa Balcony room so we would have a quiet retreat. Best decision ever! We truly enjoyed the thermal suite and ...

Great food, Great Shows, but too many passengers

This was a last-minute switch when the Oasis of the Seas was hit by a crane in dry dock. I was traveling “solo” with my two sons, 12 and 16. The moment I found out the sailing had been cancelled, I called and found that there were still a few staterooms on the Epic sailing out of Port Canaveral that weekend. We flew out from Boston and arrived in Cocoa Beach around 2 am. We stayed at the ...

Great weekend cruise!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Sun

After trying several other cruise lines, we decided to take our 1st Norwegian one. First off, 3 day cruises are typically older ships. The Sun was built in 2001, but was just renovated in May of 2018. It looked throughly overhauled and beautiful. There were some blemishes, such as some scratches in our bedroom casegoods and some on railings on the ship, but overall, they were minimal. ...

Service was top notch. Price was reasonable, timing worked with our schedule, beverage package was fantastic. Stateroom was a good size with lots of storage, and the bed was really comfy. Bathroom was compact; shower was small, but it worked very well. Outside areas were roomy with lots of chairs; no scrounging around to find somewhere to sit! Overall atmosphere was great; lots of fun ...

Make sure to have walking shoes on at all times and have tip money in your pocket. From picking your luggage up at the airport to getting onto the ship, it is a lot of walking. If you get a porter at the airport, he will take you directly to the NCL area where you will sign in for your ship transfer, and use a Porter on disembarkation day. Porters know how to move you around very, very, quickly, ...

After reading all the bad reviews of the Epic's February and March cruises, I was very apprehensive about my upcoming April 6 cruise. My worries were for naught. The cruise from Embarkation to Debarkation was very satisfying. Although the ship is huge, it didn't feel any more crowded than the smaller boats I've been on. Elevator wait times were not bad except when shows were ...
