Good Panama Canal Cruise
"I did put a note to the cruise director (who I met on day one at sea at a Cruise Critic Meet and Greet session) about this mis-information, but like other complaints and niggles I have sent NCL, I got no response.Boarding We boarded a little later than scheduled which is not good when the terminal building is filling fast, seating is full up and there is only one toilet for hundreds of ladies to queue for...."Read More

My husband and I booked this cruise nearly 2 years ago for my 60th Birthday, we booked a club balcony suite on Deck 11, which at the time of booking had a bathtub. Sadly, due to refurbishment, on sail date it had only a shower (which I hate). Boarding We boarded a little later than scheduled which is not good when the terminal building is filling fast, seating is full up and there is only ...

My husband (DH) and I just returned from 11 days in the Caribbean on the Norwegian Pearl, in an aft penthouse suite (#8132). The cruise was a partial transit through the Panama Canal. The following are our observations - a wonderful time, with a couple of small hiccups along the way. Embarkation: We embarked in Miami. The new NCL terminal B is beautiful, but things got off to a rocky start ...

I had a Panama cruise cancelled last year because of COVID.It was another company, but still wanted to see it.Glad I went because it's a one time need to see.The cruise was quiet with no children. It was right before Christmas.Staff was friendly and attentive. Some of the passengers seemed a little snobby and entitled.Dont usually see that on NCL.The ship was bright, clean and updated. The food was ...

Great people and service - NCL Pearl met expectations

In the opinion of this experienced cruiser (10+), it is very difficult to not have a good time on a cruise unless something unusual happens- so with the itinerary of Panama Canal and Costa Rica, along with the standard western Caribbean port swing through Harvest Caye, Roatan, and Costa Maya, good times were expected- and NCL met expectations. Those who cruise a lot may note that exceeding ...

Dad always wanted to cruise the canal

We only cruise with Norwegian, very casual friendly atmosphere. No strict schedules to go by! I cruised with my dad, stepmom, and a friend of mine. In Cartagena we took a party bus, plenty of free rum and cokes with the price of your ticket, and ride around town with your own 3pc band, 3 stops, dancing and shopping as well as history all in this tour. Next was the canal, we didn’t get off but ...

I chose this cruise by the Ports that I have not seen yet. The price was good so I did some research of the ship and just winged it at the ports, all worked out well as it could possibly be. The ship is kept clean, as there are always crew members working around the ship wiping, vacuuming and shining. the cabin was small but livable for the 2 week cruise. Cabin steward was good at keeping ...

Enjoyed the Indigo Restaurant and the gym on board

Timing was good for this 2 week cruise, schools not out yet, Christmas holidays not started. I enjoyed the exercise we were able to get while walking the decks, climbing the stairs. There was so much food available all the time, instead of pigging out we elected to eat at the Indigo Restaurant every night. Small Portions of delicious food were served to us by friendly waiters. It was a better ...

14-Day Panama Canal Round-trip from Tampa November 25-December 9 Norwegian Pearl Embarkation We stayed just outside Tampa the night before and drove in Sunday morning. We parked just across from the terminal and got to the check in point around 10:30. These steps were all painless. We did wait a while with a terminal full of people to board the ship. When we did board with our ...

Loved there were 3 combinable promo's which made this cruise very cost effective. The NCL staff and entertainment was phenomenal and the food was generally very good with a few exceptions. Some excursions were not worth the time or money but some were fantastic so it was a mix. It's always good to experience other countries and cultures so I'm glad we took this trip but we'd skip going back to ...

The ncl pearl has many varieties of activities for any age including bowling. At times multiple activities have been booked in the same venue at the same time. But the staff sorted it out and made applicable changes. The garden cafe has plenty of seating, however at peak times you may choose the italian restaurant for additional seating or choose the great outdoors. There seemed to be 6 hot tubs ...
