Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

We chose this cruise because we had done all the Caribbean, Alaska and Mexico cruises and had been wanting to see the Panama Canal. We used to use Norwegian but got off onto other line about 10 years ago. From the moment we saw our room I was impressed, it seems they have addressed every need. The room was lovely the colors bright yet soothing. love the clothes line in the shower. All the ...

There were many things I enjoyed about the cruise. The NORWEGIAN PEARL had been in dry-dock earlier in 2017 and everything was clean and freshly painted. Every member of the crew that I encountered, without fail, was pleasant, courteous and very helpful. The food was good. I particularly liked the Summer Palace dining room. My cabin was small, but nothing that I wasn’t aware of well in advance. It ...

The Panama Canal is an engineering masterpiece. The cruise is an experience that is worth doing any time. I was told that it is different going west to east rather than east to west. I really didn't see the difference. If you have the opportunity to go do, I don't see how anyone would regret it. The ports are Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, Huatulco, Puntarenas and Cartagena as well as the ...

We wanted to enjoy a cruise and meet new friends. We sailed NCL previously and had credits to use on this cruise. Service desk, Cruise Director, photography, and entertainment staff were fabulous! Jim, the piano man, the Pearl Shipboard Band, and particularly Energy Plus, were more than any other cruise we have been on, they were absolutely THE BEST!!!!!!!! Be careful of the food, there is ...

There were several restrooms for either handicapped people or baby Changing station on every public floor. The facility was much larger than hospital’s. There were sanitizers, plastic hand gloves and baby wipes and very well maintained. The theatre had entire row reserved for handicapped people. Also it had a stage like platform to park wheelchairs and its attendants reserved seats were located ...

This was my 23rd cruise, 1st with Norwegian Cruise Line. Really liked freestyle dining, this would be the main reason I would sail Norwegian again. Food was good in buffet and main dining restaurants. The steaks at Cagneys were very tender and the service was great. Frenh Restaurant was ok but did not care for items offered. O Sheehans was good for the fish & chips and the rueben sandwich. I ate ...

We wanted to go to Acapulco to see the cliff divers and then to go through the canal. so we picked Norwegian Pearl as it went to both places. We did not know it was a reposition cruise. We flew into LA from DFW, spent the night near the port, and got over to the ship at 11:30 am. We got onboard fairly easily and headed up to the buffet for lunch. We were surprised to get to go to our room ...

Truly enjoyed this cruise. Ship was clean and the washy washy crew did a great job. We had an informational speaker who gave a variety of seminars on Central and South America as well as giving us the history and operational facts about the three Locks we passed through. We had a fairly new group of Pearl staff entertainers, but they did a great job. They also brought in well known ...

We wanted to travel through the Panama Canal. The consultant that talked to us as we were going through was excellent. We liked the fact that we could view from the big screen in the Atrium, go outside on the 12-14th floors, as well as the 8th floor sun deck which is usually closed as it is for the crew. Nadeen, the hypnotist was excellent. She was entertaining and had serious sessions also. We ...

For the first time ever, we decided to go "all the way to the top" and booked a Haven cabin. With our own pool, hot tub, sauna, butler(s), room steward, concierge, exercise area, shower/changing area, eating area, and upper sun deck we could have spent the whole cruise in the Haven and never gone anywhere else on the ship. This was luxury at its finest and was really a once-in-a-lifetime ...
