Having been on other lines and another NCL ship (the Pearl), the Star, so far, has provided a slightly more disappointing adventure. This ship, as a whole, is old(er). The stateroom is small - and absolutely crammed for three people. In talking to guest services, the ship was completely full and there was nothing they could do to make our journey any more enjoyable. Our reservation was for three people and our stateroom was prepared for two - cups, towels. etc. Another disappointing thing about the ship, upon exploration, is the lack of windowed viewing areas for relaxation. The Spinnaker lounge is on the back of the ship, with no windows. The fitness center is full of walls, not windows and with the exception of a few bikes, the machines either look down into spa reception or at a wall. The spinning class, however, has the best view of the center. There is no viewing option inside with windows in the front of the ship, so if you want to see the forward view leaving port, you have to be outside with tons of other people. Food and service are good though, which is to be expected and something that seems standard with NCL. Just consider the stateroom size and viewing options when looking at this ship. Unless you spend a lot money on the stateroom suites at the front of the ship, this is not the shop to take for a relaxing, good viewing, easy to enjoy cruise vacation. Perhaps when the ship is upgraded, things will get better. Read Less
