Bad Experience on an Antarctica Cruise

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Norwegian Star

My wife and I, both in our 60’s, booked this 14 day cruise from Buenos Aires to Antarctica and were very disappointed. We have over 30 cruises with 10 on Norwegian and the rest mostly on Royal Caribbean, Princess, or Holland America. I usually rate cruises as 5 star as you get what you book and a cruise is usually a good time. However this cruise on the Norwegian Star was overall terrible for ...

We booked this cruise solely because of Rio. I knew that it was an older ship, but really didn't realize the big difference compared to newer ships. There was little to do. The TV in the cabin was almost worthless. The showroom was only used for the evening show. Nothing ever during the day like lectures, movies, or anything interesting. The food was not very good. The afternoon buffet carving for ...

Not at all up to NCL Standards

Review for a South America Cruise on Norwegian Star

One week cruise from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janiero. The worst thing that happened on this cruise is as soon as we entered Brazilian waters, NCL added a 25% tax on every beverage in our so-called free beverage package. When we booked this cruise, we were not told that this would happen. That is quite an expense since 5 of our 7 days on this ship were in Brazil. NCL should of had the courtesy to ...

Is NCL becoming a cheap cruise line?

I took cruises back to back from Buenos Aires to Rio and from Rio to Barcelona on the NCL Star. I am Sapphire and have taken 17 cruises already with NCL. These cruises were definitively the worst I have taken with NVL so far. Why? 1 Cabin cleaning was restricted to once a day, but the tips were increased to 20 USD per day. 2 Food Quality is coming down every cruise. NewYork stake is not ...

Never Cruise with Norwegian Star Again

I sailed with NCL Star ship Lisbon to Buenos Aires 21-day route (15-day Transatlantic and 7-day South America). During embarkation on Lisbon, they checked the vaccine status of passengers. During the trip, everybody seems ok for the first few days. Later at least half of the passengers start exhibiting severe cough, runny nose, and fever. Some of the passengers complained about losing smell and ...

Norther Europe (Greenland and Iceland) itinerary wrongly designed. We did not visited all scheduled ports

In 2019 a similar itinerary on the NCL Spirit was also not achieved. We did not visit Iceland. Then this time we decided to take a cruise from Iceland itself. Well, our first cruise after the pandemic and after two years planning, we took the NCL Star from Reykjavik to visit 3 ports in Greenland and 3 ports in Iceland. Itinerary timing is wrongly designed because at these latitudes, the weather ...

NCL Cost Cutting At All Time High

Review for a South America Cruise on Norwegian Star

Our last NCL cruise has shown how they are cutting so much that there is just not much value left in cruising with NCL. The beverage package that most all passengers get for "Free" is not worth the price, we had to pay $605 in service charges for the free package). They have 48 wines by the glass on the wine menu (bottles not allowed with the package) and 38 of them are over the limit for the ...

We took a South America cruise on the Norwegian Star, February 15-29, 2020, from Santiago Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Although our suite was very nice, we found the first night of our cruise the heating system did not work in our accommodations. Since heating would be nice to have while watching Glaciers, and cruising Cape Horn, we asked to have it repaired. For two days they were ...

The worst cruise ever!!. This was our 4th cruise, 1st and last with Norwegian. Most services were poor/terrible. Very expensive compare with the poor service given in return. Cabin small, toilet smaller than an airplane toilet and smelly, smell like sewerage Food: tasteless, nil variety menu, unless you pay for the expensive options Internet: extremely expensive compare to other ...

Loved the intiniary going to columbia, peru and Chile . My husband had hurt his ankle and needed a wheelchair at embarking we waited 6 hours with other handicap and no wheel chairs came. One 95 year old was carried on by a family member. Food in dinning room was cold, many tasteless and service was to long. We missed four 7:30 shows even though we got to dinning room at 5. We asked for ...
