The ship was nice, but the shore excursion process was painful

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Star

We chose this cruise because we wanted to go through the Panama Canal and had been to most of the Mexican ports that would be covered by a cruise starting or ending in California. We were particularly interested in the Colombian ports, which were cancelled two weeks before our sailing date and NCL would refused to let us cancel and get our money refunded. Supposedly the ship had "mechanical ...

Not a good experience

I chose this cruise for us to get closer to Easter Island where we were planning to visit but Norwegian Star Cruise Line was not an enjoyable cruise for us this time...and I thought it could have been nice as the other one I had. Most crew or officers don't greet cruisers but only a handful of waiters and Bliss Ultra Lounge blonde bartender; food quality were average, fruits were not ripped, ...

We did the back to back Norwegian cruise, leaving Miami and ending in Buenos Aires. The restaurant, cabin and cruise director staff was AMAZING. The on and off cruise systems were horrible. Causing hours and hours of waiting in line on ship, and being out money. ADMINISTRATION WAS A NIGHTMARE. Things I wish I knew as a cruiser. * Keep all receipts and if any concern email vs. ...

Sleepless Nights and Bad Food

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Star

We recently did an eleven day southern Caribbean cruise on the Star. We had an outside cabin with an ocean view. The 1st night was ok, but the 2nd, 3rd and 4th we could not get any sleep because of something banging on the outside bulkhead. I called guest services and nothing was resolved. The banging stopped for 2 nights then a different noise like a heavy line or cable rubbing against the side ...

Being a newly married couple (just two weeks before we boarded the ship) we were very excited to start our honeymoon. We booked a crusie becuase we though it would be nice for us to be alone and go travel together. We started our cruise like everyone else, waiting in a line that never seemed to end. By the time we got to the counter we had been waiting for almost an hour and a half, but its ...

First, the good. Loved the captain (Mattias?). Also, the entertainment around the ship was very enjoyable as well as some of the game shows. The bad? Food was fair but nothing to get excited about. No 24 hour dining any more unless you pay for it. Specialty restaurants were good though. Production shows were excellent, except but they are still doing some the same shows from last year and ...

Underwhelming to say the least!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

I loved the idea of a Greek adventure and to be honest the ports we visited was amazing. The ship on the other hand... and the new NCL "policy" of no water on board is beyond a joke! They sprang up with immigration policy and I was very worried on how they handled our passports. Second NCL cruise. I thought this would be as good as the experience we had with the NCL Jade. The bar staff was ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Star

This was a free cruise that we won from Hard Rock Casino. We pay the port fee's and the taxes on a interior room. There was an upgrade available so we took it, ocean view. That came with 2 free options, we choose the beverage package and the dining package. So the free cruise now has increased a little over the free, port fee's, taxes, surcharges, dining gratuities, beverage gratuities, sunlight, ...

This was a highly anticipated cruise that was very disappointing. The ship was older and quite worn, the staff seemed stressed and tired and not all that friendly and the food was sub-par. Not to mention our uncomfortable beds. Wandering around the ship, we saw tissues on the floors, and rips on carpets. The chairs in the theatre area had lost their support. We were not the only ones who felt ...

We returned on March 20, 2016 from the Star. The embarkation was fine, got to our room and typically the room steward is around to introduce himself. He was not there, in fact we never saw him the whole week on the cruise. Not even a clue as to his name. I have never had this happen before. The room was kept up, and I left notes and he brought what we needed, but it was just weird. The ...
