1-10 of 860 Europe Norwegian Star Europe Cruise Reviews
About the Reviewer: I’m a middle-aged American male who traveled solo on this, my 60th voyage. Over half of my sailings have been with NCL, however, I have sailed on other cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, MSC and Carnival. This cruise was my first cruise as a Diamond Latitudes member with NCL. My reviews are written in chronological order of events as they took place on the ship. ...
We chose this cruise to visit Morocco and several ports we had not been to but the Moroccan ports were cancelled at the last minute. Although this was a complete overreaction by the cruise line and we were disappointed it was followed by many other disappointments. The food onboard is nowhere as good as that offered precovid, ie some cold dishes and the flavour and variety has deteriorated. We had ...
We had an unexpected two weeks off and asked our travel agent to find a good deal for a cruise. The travel agent found a Norwegian cruise on the Norwegian Star leaving Southampton on October 23, 2023. We had never sailed with Norwegian before and were open to trying it out. We've sailed previously with Carnival, Celebrity, Oceania, Princess and Royal Caribbean. We have not cruised since 2018 so we ...
We love NCL, Sapphire level 20+ cruises, however, this cruise was pretty bad.
1- Cruise management
Many problems could have been prevented with better management. With 10+ busses returning from excursions at lunchtime the main dining room was closed . This created a chaotic situation at the Garden Cafe and the Irish Pub with no seating available.
Assigning excursions to busses was also ...

I am John and my wife, Eve, took this cruise after spending a day touring London. The drive to the port from our London hotel was 2 hours away. NCL wanted everyone on board by 2 pm, so we knew it would be tight. We were making good time until we got off and hit Southampton local traffic, then everything turned to a crawl. Later, we found that there was a boat show going ...
I went on this particular ship on the recommendation of my traveling companion. She had been on the Star a few years ago and said how wonderful the accommodations, the fabulous food and entertainment had been. Sign me up! I don't know what ship she was on but it wasn't this one. The cabin was fine; what was to be expected. The food was horrifying!
It was so unappetizing. Sometimes I ...
I am posting my comments about the NCL Ireland cruise we took from 9/23 - 10/3. This post is for people who have not yet taken this cruise so they can see all of the issues we encountered and hopefully they will reconsider.
- Three ports (all tenders) were canceled due to a bad storm going through Ireland. The captain said he canceled the ports because of safety concerns. But he should have ...
Loved the destinations but the ship and amenities were terrible. The only great things onboard were the dancers and singer shows. What’s the good thing about using food clips to pickup your food when most people are coughing in their hands? There has to be a better way of serving. The wines were the cheapest I ever had. The package they sell is worthless. NCL has skimped on all their services even ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, sailing dates, and to use a 20% discount certificate that was issued by NCL due to canceling the Epic's winter Mediterranean sailings. The terms were rather restrictive and this sailing qualified. We booked about 3 months ahead, so we were within the final payment date and could only use one CruiseNext certificate. NCL would not budge on this, despite ...
For perspective, this was my first time cruising on Norwegian, and I have cruised previously on Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Carnival. My husband and I found a fantastic last minute deal on the Norwegian Star for a Norway/Iceland cruise during Aug./Sept. 2023. Given the low price we paid, and given my incoming lower image of Norwegian, I was very pleasantly surprised overall at the ...
