I am posting my comments about the NCL Ireland cruise we took from 9/23 - 10/3. This post is for people who have not yet taken this cruise so they can see all of the issues we encountered and hopefully they will reconsider.
- Three ports (all tenders) were canceled due to a bad storm going through Ireland. The captain said he canceled the ports because of safety concerns. But he should have ...
I went on this particular ship on the recommendation of my traveling companion. She had been on the Star a few years ago and said how wonderful the accommodations, the fabulous food and entertainment had been. Sign me up! I don't know what ship she was on but it wasn't this one. The cabin was fine; what was to be expected. The food was horrifying!
It was so unappetizing. Sometimes I ...
Loved the destinations but the ship and amenities were terrible. The only great things onboard were the dancers and singer shows. What’s the good thing about using food clips to pickup your food when most people are coughing in their hands? There has to be a better way of serving. The wines were the cheapest I ever had. The package they sell is worthless. NCL has skimped on all their services even ...
I chose this cruise due to the itinerary, including Greenland, The Lofoten Islands of Norway, and The Shetlands. Before the cruise even began, Greenland and the Lofoten ports were dropped with no explanation, and the Shetland stop was canceled after we had literally arrived. There were supposed to be no sea days, but we ended up spending 20% of the cruise on sea days. Absolutely nothing to do on ...
Where do start, internet, none existent, menu never changed for 12 days, food cold and tasteless, since when do you make chilli with cannelloni beans. Took the ship over 24 hours to cover about 200 miles and I know that’s why it is called cruising but we could have all day in Tromso instead of docking at 7 at night and having to leave at 3 in the morning for the airport, why, because the company ...
We are in day 8 of a 12-day cruise. This is our third incredibly disappointing NCL cruise in a row. NCL used to be the friendliest of all cruise lines. I am at the Platinum level, and I just want to get this horrible cruise over. I recommend that no one ever take an NCL cruise. I will describe a number of reasons for my recommendation by discussing Guest Services; dining; excursions, beverage, ...
We chose this cruise because it was our 50 th Wedding Anniversary, and my wife really wanted to go to Ireland. The Cruise was a perfect way of visiting the ports of the Emerald Isle. While the ship was pretty nice, and the food was pretty good, the whole experience was ruined by our cabin location and the unwillingness of Customer Service to do ANYTHING about it. FREE AT SEA is a lie. ...
Deltas:
Found what we thought was a great deal on a bucket list trip to Ireland.
NCL lacked any communication to the passengers.
There was no guidance for how to get from the tender location into the city of the port.
There was no alert to smoking in the ship in the casino. The smoke, cancer causing, was in the entire back of the ship. This included several floors!
Deal breaker ...
My wife and I picked this cruise to see Ireland for are 35th Anniversary and my wife's 60th birthday.
We boarded the ship at 12:00 pm none of the bars where open, we looked at the type of alcohol and decided to update are drink package to premium plus, what they had on the menu is not what they served,(They said it didn't come in)
Could not get into are room until 3:30 no bags until 7:00 ...
I had quite good experiences with NCL Breakaway & NCL EPIC. So this time I had no doubt chosen NCL. Actually I didn't read carefully about the size of this ship NCL Star, I bet I would never chose it.
First night, me & my husband embarked around 5pm. After half an hour unpacked, we planned having dinner in the Aqua Dining Room for our first meal in the ship. Omg, so disappointed, we ...
