There was a huge difference on this cruise on the Spirit and the last one we did on it and it wasn't good. The staff remains the greatest and I have absolutely no problems with any of them but the ship has really gone downhill since our first cruise on it. No more chocolate nights, no more lobster nights and the casino is so smoke filled that we avoided it.

Getting on board was a little bit of a pain mainly because there were 2 ships in at the same time (Spirit and Dawn). Also this is New York where it is always a bit of a mad house. Room: It was bit small for 3 adults. We had a room with balcony. If there was only 2 adults it would be a bit more comfortable. The room staff was great. They were very courteous to the passengers and the room always was ...

We are a family of five with kids 16, 15 and 12. We just returned from a great cruise to the Bahamas. This was our first cruise so we don't have much in the way of comparisons. The following is our take on the actual experience.
We booked a Penthouse Suite for me and my wife and the kids were in an inside cabin across the hall. This route obviously costs more but for all the people that said to ...
If you are thinking about cruising on the Norwegian Spirit I highly recommend you think twice. As a matter of fact don't even consider it.
My family and I (10 of us) cruised on the Norwegian Spirit July 20, 2008 to the Bahamas. 5 of us have cruised on other lines (Celebrity and Carnival) so we had past experiences to compare to the Spirit.
New York Port
It was an animal house. Employees gave ...
Review of July 20, 2008 cruise on Norwegian Spirit to Florida and Bahamas This is my third cruise. The first two were with Carnival and one was also to Nassau. On this cruise, I traveled with my friend who has sailed on Celebrity. This was a very enjoyable and relaxing cruise. Embarkation: Initially there was some confusion at the pier as to where we should be dropped off, but check in was easy. ...
Here's our long and boring cruise synopsis. We had a great time and it is hard to be back at work!
Travelers were myself (41), DW (42), and DD (17).
Saturday, July 5th - Flew to New York City (nonstop on Delta) and stayed in Times Square at the Marriott Marquis. We just hung out in Times Square. We had a wonderful room with a view of Times Square. DW and I really enjoyed seeing New York again ...
We just returned from our very first cruise, which we had booked a year ago and had researched thoroughly. I'm glad that we did our homework before we left...it made the trip that much more pleasant!
Our family of four (myself and my husband, and our two boys ages 13 and 9) traveled with our good friends and their 8 year old daughter. We had booked an inside cabin for the four of us, on deck 6, ...
My husband and I were first time cruisers and we were on our honeymoon overall We had a relaxing time. We thought getting on the ship in New York was fast and we had no issues I think because we got there around 2pm most of the foot traffic was gone. We got on board went right to our inside cabin on the 5th floor and prepared for our safety drill. The only complaints that first day on was figuring ...

The best thing about cruising is usually excellent customer service. People go on cruises to be pampered. If this is your idea of a great cruise, stay away from Norwegian!! The staff is very unhelpful. "No" was the most common answer we got from staff. If you are in the hot tub or lying by the pool and ask a beverage server for water or iced ...
