Norwegian Spirit - thumbs up!!

Review for Norwegian Spirit to Caribbean - Western

Having just returned from a cruise on Norwegian Spirit, I have to say what a very pleasant surprise I had. I had read many reviews that had made me doubt my choice, mostly about the age and condition of the ship. I am happy to say, that although not as grand as some of the other ships I have cruised on, it was in very good condition, clean and comfortable with ample restaurants and activities. ...

Took advantage of UBP & shore excursion credit on the only cruise to fit our time from from Port Canaveral. Also had Cruise credit from previous cruise. Like this size ship and wanted Western itinerary. The Spirit is in fine shape in the public areas and our cabin was no worse for wear considering the age of the ship and time since its last refurb, about 5 years ago I believe. Service in all ...

Unexpected and Pleasant Surprise

Review for Norwegian Spirit to Caribbean - Western

Having been on over 20 cruises with a competing cruise line, I was skeptical about venturing out on an older smaller ship as the Spirit. My first impression of the ship was that even in its old age, the ship is magnificent. Our room was small but well designed and always clean. The bathroom appeared larger than most cruise ship bathrooms for some reason. The shower was encased in glass and not the ...

It was our first cruise for me and my husband. So eager to experience this together, we booked the Spirit and have not regretted it so far!! We had done quite a bit of research including this website, and we were a bit concerned about certain reviews here...But to our surprise, we loved almost ALL of it !! From the friendly and welcoming staff (EVERYBODY!!) to the wonderful experiences we had, ...

Norwegian Spirit; Excellent Ship for her Age

Review for Norwegian Spirit to Caribbean - Western

Do not believe all you read. The Spirit is the oldest ship in the NCL fleet. However she has been kept up to there high standards. Service was above average threw out the ship. Only attended one of the shows, enjoyable and entertaining. Did buy some art while on the ship. Very good Art team on this ship. Not overly pushy and helpful if you decide to buy art from Park West Galleries. This ship ...

This was our first Norwegian cruise. We have sailed on Carnival, Royal Carribean, and Disney. Looking to get away for Spring Break we couldn't pass up the great price and perks Norwegian was offering. I was a bit nervous after reading some negative reviews, but I an so happy we didn't base our decision on them. My husband and I as well as our 3 teenagers all had a great time! We drove down to ...

2nd Cruise on Spirit in 5 Months; Still Fun but Not 5* We Had Before

General comments: This was our fifth cruise and third on the Norwegian Cruise Line. We were planning to spend some “snowbird” time in Florida this winter. We had taken an NCL cruise on this same ship, the Spirit, in Fall of 2015. We fell into their “buy credits” deal as well as getting a good price on a cruise with ports that were new to us. We had a great time. We do like the small or ...

Pleasantly Surprised

Review for Norwegian Spirit to Caribbean - Western

We had been on Carnival the last five cruises and had been a bit disappointed with the crew energy on the last one. It was the Fantasy, and we were aware about it's age. The Spirit is a similar ship, small and a few years on her, but the crew was outstanding. Yes if you look hard you can find old carpet or a rust spot or two, and we were concerned with all the negative reviews. The energy and ...

Never Again on Norwegian

Review for Norwegian Spirit to Caribbean - Western

Have cruised many times over the years. Most all cruise lines including Norwegian. Balcony cabin "D"level smallest we've ever had. Our cabin along with 4 others were over what sounded like a hydraulic pump which would grind away for 20 seconds and be silent for 2 minutes. Our first night out. No sleep that night. Complained next day and all was quiet the rest of the week until the last night of ...

Any Day at Sea Beats Snow at Home

Review for Norwegian Spirit to Caribbean - Western

Living in the Mid East Coast USA, a Caribbean cruise always beats snowy February. NCL's "Free-Style Cruising" is the best way to go if you like a casual vacation-having to pack evening dresses and suits is not our idea of relaxing. During the 2 weeks we were aboard we had some rough sea and missed the Cayman Islands but overall had a grand time. Enjoyed the "game shows" "Not so Newly Wed," "55 ...
