Ship Built by Designers and Engineers, Beautiful, However it was not built for Cruisers
"The Good: Brand New Beautiful Ship (5th revenue cruise I believe) Balcony Room was excellent in design and function Food was exceptional (I tried: Hudson, Indulge, Local, Le Bistro, Commodore, Cagney’s and Palomar) The not so good: Shops were not real shops - they were aisles alongside of halls in most cases Deck 8 (Infinity Pool, Ocean Boulevard...My overall comments are as follows: The ship appears to have been built by and for designers - NOT CRUISERS If you want to go on a PRIMA class ship save your money and book a HAVEN room The public spaces would be comfortable for about 1500 guest not 2500+ Everything except the FOOD and Room was a terrible disappointment, maybe partly due to the HYPE around the launch of PRIMA Class Vessel...."Read More

Plus points: *Staff all good *Food one of the best we've had (also best for gluten and dairy free). *Cabins nice & spacious Minus points: *Public spaces nowhere near big enough *Pool area woefully small *Go kart track takes up too much deck area. *Sculpture park takes up sunbathing area and unnecessary. *Towels down at 6:30, no-one managing it despite stating that if ...

Big ship needs small improvements

Good: most dining is free, most “freestyle” activities are included. Cleanliness is top notch, rooms and bathroom are a good size. People are always very nice and friendly. Service at restaurants/bars are always quick and courteous. Cigar lounge is a very cool concept and awesome atmosphere. Alvin and hit team always did great trying to boost the atmosphere at the night club area but very ...

Style over substance and practicality

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Having sailed with NCL on a number of occasions, the expectation of this new Prima Class ship was very high. However, we were (for the first time) extremely disappointed. Too much emphasis is spent on style over substance and practicality. Public areas are far too small and certainly cannot accommodate the number of guests: the main breakfast room was crammed with nowhere to sit, and ...

Very disappointed

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We enjoyed the cruise however we were very disappointed with this new class of ship from NCL. As you will read below the public venues are too small for the large number of passengers and we had a full cruise. Embarkation was quick. As Lattitude reward members it took only 20 minutes from the time we arrived until we were on board. Debarkation was a disaster. We were in the first group to ...

NCL Prima Haven - Not Impressed

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Prima

I have sailed on NCL well over 10 times and always stay in the Haven; this ship however was the worse Haven experience I have ever encountered. The room was fine, no issues except the refrigerator was not stocked, nor were we allowed to arrange to have it stocked, unless we did it ourselves from the bar. The haven bar on the sundeck closed at 6PM every day, the staff would secure everything up ...

NCL Prima - A Major Disappointment

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Prima

As a frequent cruiser, I was looking forward to 11 days on the Prima. Unfortunately, I found that it is a poorly-designed ship with the vast majority of the cruisers restricted to a limited area while Haven guests and those willing to pay a premium had access to private pool, spa, restaurant and lounges. Most guests share only two hot tubs and a small pool. The two infinity pools accommodate ...

NCL Prima - 11 day Caribbean cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

My traveling companions and I stayed in 2 room balcony suites at the front of the ship. The cabins were spacious and well equipped. We had excellent service from our steward and butler. My only disappointment with the ship was that it was not always easy to find areas to relax. When we were looking for areas to lounge with a drink, we often had to wander around the ship to find open spaces. ...

We just got back from a wonderful 11 day cruise!! The Prima is a very beautiful ship, easy to get around, certainly the good outweighs the bad!! I don't understand all the negativity as we found all the crew very happy, smiling & very friendly!! Food in the Hudson's & Commodore rooms mostly very enjoyable a couple times an issue had to be resolved, but it was done quickly & satisfying!! Our ...

The Good, The Bad, and .....

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Prima

For perspective, over the past 20+ years, my wife and I have now been on 13 NCL cruises, each of 11-30 days length; we have also been on 17 Celebrity/RCCL cruises, also of the same duration. We were very much looking forward to our first cruise on the Prima because it is relatively new, and for the several positive reviews of its cabins, and of the Indulge Food Court experience, among others. In ...

Good to know.

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We chose this cruise because of its duration and destinations. Be aware, if you book air (bogo) through NCL and your cruise price drops, you will not get any redress for this issue, you must book your air independently. Most cruisers on this cruise received a $500 cruise credit because prices dropped. We were booked on a red eye both ways, dropped at airport 7 hrs before flight, unable to even ...
