My husband (DH) and I just returned from 11 days in the Caribbean on the Norwegian Pearl, in an aft penthouse suite (#8132). The cruise was a partial transit through the Panama Canal. The following are our observations - a wonderful time, with a couple of small hiccups along the way.
Embarkation:
We embarked in Miami. The new NCL terminal B is beautiful, but things got off to a rocky start ...
A LITTLE BACKGROUND: My two children (11 and 20) and I chose this cruise because we had 'Piece of Mind credits' that were about to expire.
Well... Correction: My two children (11 and 20) and I chose this cruise because we'd never been to Central America before, and thought the Canal would be a pretty interesting spot through which to traverse. We'd also been somewhat disappointed by how ...
My husband and I booked this cruise nearly 2 years ago for my 60th Birthday, we booked a club balcony suite on Deck 11, which at the time of booking had a bathtub. Sadly, due to refurbishment, on sail date it had only a shower (which I hate).
Boarding
We boarded a little later than scheduled which is not good when the terminal building is filling fast, seating is full up and there is only ...
We always wanted to cruise Panama Canal and were excited about the itenerary. We are long time NCL cruisers but oir experience fell below our seasoned expectations. We have always loved NCL.
The ship was recently renovated and we miss the wine bar. Decor is nice.
Pros:
Drink package upgrade for Veuve anytime
Magnums bar, wine selection
Cagneys food and service excellent ...
This cruise itinerary was excellent. Our cabin steward, Mr Rivera, was very accommodating with our schedule and very helpful. we discovered that a couple of things were not working in the cabin. We told him the same day we sailed from Miami and the issues were taken care that same night.
We had all of our evening meals at the Indigo Restaurant. Several people are worth mentioning; Singh ( I ...
I had a Panama cruise cancelled last year because of COVID.It was another company, but still wanted to see it.Glad I went because it's a one time need to see.The cruise was quiet with no children. It was right before Christmas.Staff was friendly and attentive. Some of the passengers seemed a little snobby and entitled.Dont usually see that on NCL.The ship was bright, clean and updated. The food was ...
We selected this cruise to celebrate our 45th Wedding Anniversary and wanted to make it truly special. NCL came through on all fronts. The new Miami Port is spectacular and we were welcomed like royalty. There were plenty of food options from main dining to a pub to Asian fusion to specialty dining. The food was also hot on arrival, seasoned and delicious.
The entertainment was most ...
I usually read others posting and think the criticism is a bit much, but I could not help but report many issues that occurred while on our latest cruise to Bermuda from Boston. This cruise took place from November 4th to November 11th. Let me preface my following comments with the fact that my wife and I are dedicated cruisers with NCL having achieved Platinum Status and are Stock Shareholders in ...
We booked a cruise with NCL, also paid for them to book our flights, and paid for transport to and from the airport to ship. Our paperwork from NCL stated to fly from American Airlines. When in reality the airlines subcontracted it out to another airline .5 miles away! Total screw-up on NCL end! Cruse was ok, though the hot tub was only 98 degrees. Everything was extra, and you paid dearly for it. ...
We chose this cruise because of the allure of the ports planned for the cruise and the expectation of hitting the fall colors
This cruise left Boston, up into Canada and back through two stops in Maine. Overall, an average cruise on an average ship. Here is a summary of the different components.
Ship – The ship seemed to be of medium size. We were a little disappointed in the Atrium area, ...
