Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

We chose the NCL Mediterranean Cruise because we like to get the most for our money. We traveled during the shoulder season when it is a little cooler, and the prices are cheaper. The up-side is you have fewer tourists, and you are able to "negotiate" with the vendors because they have fewer people shopping at one time. On shore excursions, we used private tours in Greece and Turkey and Viator ...

We were very please with our cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. We traveled with our parents, another couple and most importantly our two year old. I was very please that the ship was a younger crowd and one that would not mind a toddler rubbing shoulder (ankles) with them. We stayed in the 3 bedroom Garden Villa and were treated very well. The embarkation process was extremely smooth as there was ...

Baltic Capitals on the Norwegian Jewel: 4 July 2008 Ahoy. This is my first review and only my second cruise, so I only have RCCL to compare it with. On that cruise, I was struck by the number of complaints in the tenders about how Princess did this better, Holland America did that better, RCCL's tender operations did not measure up to P&O's, etc. Having met great people, received good service ...

We just returned from the trip of a lifetime: aboard the Norwegian Jewel, Sept. 26-Oct. 8, Athens to Istanbul. We're a very active couple who enjoy independent travel, and chose this for its fabulous itinerary, which included Alexandria, with enough time for the Giza pyramids. This is our second cruise, so some of our comparisons are to the Celebrity Summit, which we took to Alaska. We ...

By way of background, my wife and I are a retired couple in our 60's, and have sailed on approximately 20 cruises, most of them of 14-days or longer duration,. We book balcony cabins, and over the years have sailed on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Celebrity and NCL. This cruise represented our third cruise on NCL and our second on the Jewel, the last being an October 2005 cruise to ...

Destination Eastern Med - Greece, Egypt, Turkey We left from San Francisco a couple of days early so we could explore Athens. We booked our own air & hotel arrangements. We flew Delta from San Francisco to JFK, and then onward to Athens. My husband had read many favorable reviews about "George the Famous Taxi Driver in Greece" so we booked our transportation from the Athens airport to our hotel ...

I just returned from a 12 night cruise in the Eastern Mediterranean (Greece, Egypt and Turkey). I am not a person who cruises often as I prefer to do things on my own schedule, rather than the dictates of the ship's schedule. So, I went into this trip a bit of trepidation. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Embarkation/debarkation - very smooth. When we arrived at the port in ...

This was both our first time cruising NCL. we booked the cruise for the itinerary, which did not disappoint. We booked our own airfare after being told there was no cruiseline airfare offered from Miami, Florida. Our ...

We were a party of 6 including 3 children 16,14 and 4 and a grandmother!  Travelling from UK. We arrived having booked our own flights.  I had asked NCL UK if it was possible to book a transfer through them from the airport but was told no, but maybe on the way back check on board ,at shore excursions.  However,I approached the NCL rep at baggage retrieval and was told we could at $20 per person.  ...
