I chose this cruise because of our Fantastic previous cruise with the Norwegian Pearl going to Alaska, and we wanted another memorable, amazing experience.
It comes down to this: I am a gambler. My primary reason for cruising is gambling and drinking. I only play roulette.
1. On my last cruise, one of the two roulette tables was broken
2. I only gambled on the first day. I lost ...
We cruise on the Norwegian Jewel January 17th - January 24th, visiting Cozumel, Belize and Roatan. We are experienced cruisers; this was our 10th cruise, but our first on Norwegian, in the past we've cruised with Carnival and Princess. This cruise blew our expectations away, probably one of the best cruises we've ever had. The crew was FANTASTIC, so friendly and welcoming, engaging with the ...
We enjoyed our time on the Jewel. We enjoyed the freedom of Norwegian's freestyle dining. We mostly ate lunches and breakfasts in the Garden Cafe, and dinners in Tsar's Palace. The food was consistently high-quality and diverse; as a fan of Asian food, I especially appreciated the Cafe's rotation of Asian dishes. We thought about trying Azura, but the decor in there looked lackluster compared to ...

This was our first cruise and nothing like expected. It was all so noisy with Americans hootin' and hollerin' from morning to night. When the compere says "who's going to beach tomorrow?" is it really necessary for the deafening OOO OOO's. The pool disco was trying to make itself heard in England, we sat on a deck above but still couldn't make ourselves heard.
The shows at night were full of self ...
We drove to NYC on February 1st. For those looking to drive and not pay the outrageous port fees, we stayed at the Wyndham Garden in Newark, New Jersey. We chose the "stay & fly" package which was $155+tax and included 14 days FREE parking.... that's right, completely FREE! To get to Manhattan, we took the hotels free shuttle service to the airport, then took the NJ transit train into Penn station ...
We recently returned from 12 days on the NCL "Jewel". This was our "Friends and Family Annual Winter Caribbean Cruise". There were 24 of us. I have orchestrated the winter cruise for more than 25 years, now and we have been anywhere from 14 to 43 of us.
Embarkation was a breeze! From getting off of our charter party bus that brought us to the pier to being on the ship, it was maybe 8-10 ...
Well, where do I begin...?? Let me just say everything was PERFECT and extremely relaxing,....we chose not to do any excursions this time around...We were better off not doing them...I ended up coming down with a Chronic Sinus infection that began on Day 3...first day of our first port in Old San Juan, PR. So we just walked around the town for a short while...then went back to the ship to ...
Although the Gem is still my favorite the Jewel gives it stiff competition. We had sailed on the Jewel in the past and found the ship to be in great shape.
We arrived at the pier around 3:00 so there was no line, we went right to our cabin then headed up on deck for the sailaway. The weather was a little cold and allot windy, but the photo ops were fantastic.
We had about 100 people at our ...
This was my 13th cruise but my first time on NCL. I found the Jewel to be gaudy and not up to the aesthetics of other ships I had sailed. I also found it to be crowded. I attribute this to Norwegian's free style cruising. It seems everyone on ship tries to do the same thing at the same place at the same time. In traditional early/late seating only half the passengers do the same thing at the same ...
