Nice cruise with older adult spring breakers

Enjoyed the small ship of the jade. The port of Harvest Caye was nice except the beach was full of seaweed and the water was brown so we stuck to the pool. We got the cabana near the pool which was nice to have. It wasn’t busy at all, workers were friendly. Costa maya was a pleasant surprise. We rented a golf cart outside of the shopping area to go to the beac town of mahauel?. The golf cart ...

We went on this cruise with some of my wife's cousins, and we had a great time. Our cabin was fine, and we had a balcony so it was great to be able to look out over the water. Our cabin attendant was very nice, very professional. The staff on the ship were very friendly. I like the free style dining - there are lots of choices, and the food was very good. The entertainment at night was ...

Know where you're going when you stop at Western ports

Overall this 7 day Western Caribbean cruise was fine. I love the free style dining. Most of the food was above average. The exception to that was the buffet and the 2 prime ribs I had in the dining rooms. The buffet was typical of a lot of buffets...….some food dried out, some food unidentifiable if not for the labeling and nasty people putting food in their mouths in line and then grabbing ...

Meh Mexico / Belize cruise on NCL Jade

Review for Norwegian Jade to Caribbean - Western

I was looking for a fun, reasonably-priced winter getaway. I got it, but also felt like the service, quality and value, which are all usually quite good on NCL, had slipped badly in some cases. Sadly, the profit-at-all-costs "nickel and diming to death" mentality on NCL continues. Details below. BOOKING: My travel agent warned me that it was last minute, and so room selection would be ...

Boring expensive itinerary, understaffed unfriendly crew, last time on NCL.

It was my 3rd cruise, my friend's 1st - both 1st time on NCL. We barely made the ship due to winter storm flight delays up north but we did make it. No other passengers were in the embarkation terminal in Miami so we sailed through that process. We bid on an upgrade to an ocean view cabin and they accepted our offer a few weeks prior to the cruise. It had a sliding door to the balcony which had a ...

Terrible Customer Service, Low Amenities Ship, Dull Private Islands

Review for Norwegian Jade to Caribbean - Western

I chose this cruise because I had heard that Norwegian was a great cruise line and, as a single person, I was able to get an interior stateroom for less than $1,000 including taxes and port fees, so price had a lot to do with it. However, the reason I took that is I was offered a much better deal the night before and told they would hold it 24 hours while I checked airfare. When I called back 12 ...

Exactly what we were looking for

Our sail date was Jan. 25, 2019. We booked this sailing in Sept 2018. Cabin was 9502, forward Penthouse Suite, non-Haven. We checked in at 1:00pm. Friendly and efficient staff got us aboard quickly. We booked this sailing because of the sea days and the ports. Two out of three ports were NCL's private islands-and that's what we were looking for. Ship was in very good condition, we did not ...

Hits and Misses... a Very Inconsistent Cruise

Review for Norwegian Jade to Caribbean - Western

Having enjoyed the Norwegian Escape, my wife and I decided to give the Jade a try. Unfortunately, this cruise did not live up to expectations. Although there were a few hits, the misses far outnumbered them. Embarkation We arrived at our assigned time and processed through the embarkation process quite quickly. Staff were well organized and efficient. From arrival at the pier, we were ...

Fun filled cruise!

My wife and I took this cruise with another couple. We chose it based on price first, itinerary second. We did not have any children with us which was a good thing because this particular ship is not overly kid friendly. There were no water slides and there was a small splash pad, but overall, it is on the lower end of what I've seen on four other NCL ships. Embarkation was straightforward. ...

Could have been much better

I chose the Jade due to the lack of "kids" activities on the ship. My wife and I wanted to enjoy a vacation without youngsters all over which was the case. We have been on many cruises prior and on NCL vessels prior. I have recommended NCL after coming back from this cruise so I am in no way knocking NCL or any of it's ships and I am doing another NCL cruise later this year. The majority of the ...
