A family member had gone on the sister ship ,Breakaway last year and had a wonderful experience. My husband and I went on the Getaway this year with those family members and found it to be overcrowded. The Atrium is where many activities are held but is not large enough for the crowds that show up. There are not enough chairs so people crowd and squish around the atrium and it makes it very ...

This is our 12th cruise and we chose Getaway because the dates fit in nicely with vacation tume that our friends were taking. We were yet to have traveled to the Eastern Carribean, after coming off the Escape last Feb. we were very excited about Norwegian as we had a ball on that ship. Embarkation was the smoothest of any ship I have been on. Very organized and boarding was on time, in fact ...

Let's start with the check in process. CRAZY!!! Arrive for early boarding between 10-1030. Wait. Then get moved into a Large waiting room to sit for another hour. HMM. At least they provide you coffee and Juice while you wait. Once they call your group to board, Chaos begins as everybody tries to board out of turn. Sea Days.. Get up before the sun and get you deck chairs!!!! Most are taken ...

We have done Disney Cruise Line (Dream) in the past and I had wonderful experience. It made we want to do more cruises with my kids. The value of Norwegian Getaway 7 day eastern Caribbean seemed good. However, it was just ok and a bit disappointing. Ship: Seemed nice. Very clean for the most part. Felt spacious. Cabin: Spa Balcony. Smallish. I wish there was a better option for ...

This is a comprehensive review, and it will help you plan your trip on this ship. Overall I enjoyed many aspects of the ship, but there were a few things that really brought down the enjoyment, and many of them can be fixed, if they choose. You will notive many more negatives then positives. But overall, it was a fun trip. Not sure I would do that ship again, or Norweigan, but its still up ...

I took a chartered cruise on Norwegian (Oct. 23- 30, 2016) and while I found the ship to be large with many convenient little places to stop/sit/enjoy which equated to options but not exactly what was needed for the large group expected or the activities planned for this trip. It was my first time cruising with Norwegian so I'm doing my best to be fair in separating the problems that the trip ...

I went on the Getaway with a friend. She purchased the cruise at a charity event and way over paid for it! As the date of our cruise got closer, we could have purchased the cruise for a fraction of the price. There were restrictions as to the dates we could go. We chose the week 9/11/16. They embarkation was quick and easy. My friend had been on this ship before, we boarded and she wanted to go to ...

We've been on Disney and RCI multiple times recently, so we wanted to experience something new, different. We decided to hop on the NCL Getaway leaving Miami. Arriving to the port at 11:30am was smooth - signs telling you where to go and people guiding you to drop off and parking garage. My husband dropped us off and we were told to leave our luggages on the curbside. That's usually OK, ...

Norwegian is the "Frontier Airlines" of cruise ships in comparison to others that I've been on. The Good: Superb rooms. While slightly smaller than other ships, it is still more than adequate. Excellent housekeeping staff. Food was superb. My group never had a bad meal, and if mistakes were made (overcooked steak), they went out of their way to make sure it was corrected. The Bad: Nickel and ...
