A family member had gone on the sister ship ,Breakaway last year and had a wonderful experience. My husband and I went on the Getaway this year with those family members and found it to be overcrowded. Let's start with the check in process. CRAZY!!! Arrive for early boarding between 10-1030. Wait. Then get moved into a Large waiting room to sit for another hour. HMM. At least they provide you coffee and Juice while you wait. Once they call your group to board, Chaos begins as everybody tries to board out of turn.

We have done Disney Cruise Line (Dream) in the past and I had wonderful experience. It made we want to do more cruises with my kids. The value of Norwegian Getaway 7 day eastern Caribbean seemed good. However, it was just ok and a bit disappointing.

This is a comprehensive review, and it will help you plan your trip on this ship.
Overall I enjoyed many aspects of the ship, but there were a few things that really brought down the enjoyment, and many of them can be fixed, if they choose. Norwegian is the "Frontier Airlines" of cruise ships in comparison to others that I've been on. The Good: Superb rooms. While slightly smaller than other ships, it is still more than adequate. Excellent housekeeping staff. Food was superb. My group never had a bad meal, and if mistakes were made (overcooked steak), they went out of their way to make sure it was corrected.

This ship has some amazing things going for it that are to be commended:
-Beautiful layout and design
-Excellent selection of restaurants
