We were very pleased, my wife and I with the great ports visited, the Greek Islands plus Split and back to back return to New York, it was very convenient. We experience waves on deck 8 in the Tequila bar that came up as high as the middle of our window. This was an exciting event to say the least. On three occasions plates and furniture hit the floor and some passengers were hurt. It was ...

This was purchased this as a 21 day, our 30th cruise-3rd with NCL. We're retired-60 and 61. I'll try to point out the positive and negative to reflect my ratings. Embarkation went smoothly and the ship definitely has that WOW factor. It is a beautiful, stately vessel but the public rooms were all too small and too crowded. The cabin was tight but the bed was very ...

This was a 21 day cruise consisting of 2 cruises back to back: a 7 day cruise departing and returning to Venice visiting Croatia and the Greek Isles and then a 14 day transatlantic cruise from Venice to New York City visiting several ports in Spain and Portugal. This was our 4th cruise on NCL and our 2nd Transatlantic cruise on NCL. We have been on 20+ cruises. Before anyone starts to ...

We arrived Venice 20 Oct, stayed at the Marriott near the airport. Took the ALILUGUNA to St Marks or bus to Piazza Roma. No negatives at all re the hotel, except that next time will stay in city. Took VIATOUR guided tours 21 ( (Walking tour of Venice, plus guided canal ride), 22 (tour of Murano, Burano, Torcello) Oct, always very satisfied. Boarded ship 23 Oct, embarkation was fine, and ...

Background We are just back from a 21 day cruise on the Norwegian Gem. We began our cruise in Venice on Oct 23 with a 7 Day Greek Island Cruise and then on Oct. 30 began a 14 day Spain, Portugal and Transatlantic cruise. Although I booked it as one cruise, we were given credit for two cruises and we became Latitude members after the first week. It was a wonderful trip and we enjoyed it ...

Flew into Venice one day early to rest up for cruising. Stayed out in Quatro d'Altino which was fine. Have been in Venice before so knew we would save the city for our port day. Embarkation was easy. Was glad that we could sign up for spa while waiting to board as that is a priority for us. Loved all the ports on the Greek portion. Did things on our own everywhere except Santorini where we took ...

We have sailed several times - most on NCL. We always select interior cabins because our goal is to spend as little time there as possible. We have been pleased with NCL in the past. In fact, our favorite cruise was a full transit Panama Canal cruise in 2009. However, this was our worst cruise ever and fr at least two reasons: Embarkation, ports of call and debarkation were all "okay". ...

We embarked from Venice. Arrived at the port terminal at 11:30AM, and were on board by noon. No Problem. Our suite was beautiful, everything we expected and more. We particularly enjoyed the perk of being able to have breakfast and lunch in Cagney's. The breakfast and lunches were wonderful. We had dinner in five specialty restaurants and enjoyed each of them. We really enjoyed the French ...

The Gem is a wonderful ship. We been on the Jewel in February and really liked the ship, so it was an easy decision to make. Everything was very well-done, beautiful surroundings, very clean. We really enjoyed being on the Courtyard level and utilized that facility frequently. It was nice to have breakfast or lunch served in the courtyard, without having to even go downstairs. Cagney's is great, ...

First Time Cruiser

Our ship left from Venice, Italy for a 14-day cruise to New York, with several stops before the ocean. We had no problems at the various ports along the way. In fact, we absolutely loved Porto Degado in the Azores. Our problem was not with the stops or the excursions. Our problem was with Norwegian trying to extract money from us all he time. We were "expected" to buy drinks or play bingo. ...
