I chose this cruise because it departed close to home and is an easy drive to the port . Once at the port and rounded like cattle and every one boarded . As the day went on I figure i would take a shower . We chose this cruise to see the Fall colours in Canada. This was our first cruise with NCL and we had no reason to be biased. The ship was very compartmentalized. No large open area atrium to enjoy.

I have been on 5 cruises previously with 4 different cruiselines (including Disney, Princess, and Royal Carribean). My experience on Norwegian Gem was by far the worst.
1. The stateroom is poorly designed, with no outlets near the head of the bed. Family members with CPAP machines had to run extension cords across the entire room to be able to use their medical device.
