Cruise to Canada & New England
"We chose this cruise as we have never cruised "north" and have never been to Canada. It is a good mix of ports with some beautiful sights to see. Embarkation: We got through security quickly and right online to..."Read More

This was a retirement gift to myself. I took my husband along. We are platinum on NCL so I chose Sail Away balcony without the perks and it worked out just fine for this 7 day cruise. We get two specialty dinners and WiFi minutes. We never drink enough to justify a drink package and usually arrange for shore excursions on our own. My favorite parts of the ship are the Spinnaker Lounge with ...

I wanted to see Canada during colorful Fall weather and I was NOT disappointed. Love that we have graduated to suite category now. Butler and Concierge are really nice touches. Was not as impressed with Teppanyaki chefs as I have been on other ships. Although the food was good, their flare was not impressive.. Cagney's Steakhouse was great. Moderno Brazillian Steakhouse was not great ...

We chose this cruise because it was Canada-New England, which we have done previously, with a few different itineraries on 3 various cruise lines, HAL, NCL and about 10 years ago, Costa. So we have seen many of these ports many times, but we feel comfortable with all of them, and many are either walkable, or have great public transit such as NYC, Boston, Halifax and Quebec City. It is ...

We are Platinum level cruisers with NCL and the Gem is one of our favorite ships. We decided to use a cruise leaving from New York to have our wedding (and then a local reception in July). We invited everyone to join us, but most opted for the July party. 4 other couples (incl our matron of honor and best man) came on the cruise. Well, we had the time of our lives. NCL handled the wedding exactly ...

We’ve done several NCL cruises..Gem, Jade and Jewel. I love the crew. They are very nice, cheerful and helpful. Favorite times include the amazing entertainment, the outer deck delicious barbecues, the fabulous experiences in the specialty restaurants and those cute, fun towel animals. I could go on and on but the crew deserves the credit. They are the best of the best at sea. Our family ...

My husband and I had not taken a cruise in a while and wanted to cruise in a different direction than before and took a chance on NCL Gem this June 2018. The Gem is a very nice ship. I found out that it was recently refurbished. The Gem was ealhoto get a around. The amenities were great. The entire staff that we encountered were 2nd to none. Every where we went they were willing and ready ...

Canada New England cruise NY on June 2. Celebrating our 60th birthdays. We had a suite. Could not say enough about the service throughout. From dining to the bartenders to the concierge. Our butler Teresa was amazing. Our concierge Elvina was always there when we needed her from the moment we got on to when we left. The entertainment in lounges was so good. We went there every night ...

I picked this cruise itinerary because I’ve been on 3 other NCL Cruises and I wanted a different itinerary leaving out of NY. Overall, my friend and I were very pleased. I have to say the food was good and plentiful. I like the fact that they had 5 complimentary dining areas. We did go to the Teppanyaki Restaurant and paid a coverage charge. The food was good, as well as the entertainment from ...

First Time Cruisers "bedazzled" by the GEM!

We were quite unsure what to expect since it was our very first cruise and had heard and read the gamut of positive & negative reviews and feedback from friends and other cruisers. This was without a doubt an enjoyable experience from the Embarkation process to almost the end when we had to disembark. I must admit that there is more that can be done to ensure a smooth exit. However, that did not ...

Norwegian Gem, October 14 – October 21 – Halifax, St. John, Portland, Rockland plus two sea days! So I have procrastinated with this review for a few months now. Between Hurricane Irma and the holidays, I’ve been a little busy. I traveled solo on the Gem in October. I won’t give my usual detailed review because so much time has passed. I owe it to the great crew members, however, to point ...
