The Great Outdoors. Has a nice size bar and buffet. Best of all, it's own soft-serve ice machine.

Deserves to be called a CRUISE SHIP

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Gem

This was a transatantic from rome to new york. i did this cruise last year on ncl epic and didn't much like it, but i've been on the gem and other gem class ships and you were never in doublt you were on a ship, no matter where you were. it looked like a cruise ship, smelt like a cruise ship everyone knew. the giant floating shopping centers don't appeal to me. i don't want to have to board ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Gem

We chose this cruise for its itinerary. The ship was stopping in Egypt, Israel and ending in Istanbul Turkey. We were interested in seeing the Pyramids in Cairo and touring Jerusalem then spending some time in Istanbul at the end of it. Due to some very unfortunate circumstances we were unable to stop in Israel so we had an extra sea day. We covered 3 continents, Africa, Asia & Europe in this ...

NCL GEM - August 14-27, 2023

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Used BOGO Air, and received flight information approximately 65 days prior to cruise. Flights were from Houston to Montreal, then Montreal to Venice. Had a one day deviation and arrived without any flight issues or delays on the morning of the 13th. Booked hotel and transfers with NCL, and NCL transfer person was easy to find right outside of baggage claim area, although we had to wait about 30 ...

Used to love NCL; but they were deceptive on this one. Will move to Royal Caribbean more often now.

This was our 4th cruise with NCL and we've really liked all of the others. Some people it seems always look for the negative, and just want to complain and make life miserable, or get freebies from companies, restaurants, etc. That is not us, but NCL did some deceptive things in our opinion on this one. 1. Our itinerary was supposed to have the first stop in Venice (which along with Santorini ...

The cruise was great the food was great entertainment was awesome. Now the 20.00 a day gratuities was very strange. We were told the crew does not recieve the gratuities we were charged. We asked several of the servers they told us they only got what the contract stated. We went to the front desk filled out a form stating we would do our own gratuities and we did you have to hand them cash or they ...

Transatlantic to Portugal, Spain, France, & Italy

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Planning on a vacation for more than two years, roommate wanted to go on a transatlantic cruise instead of Caribbean to knock things off her bucket list. Was in a Club Balcony Suite, which was nice but lacking in power or USB ports near the bed. Leaving NYC was easy, but after three or four days at sea, the Atlantic Ocean in April can be a little rough, so 15-20 ft seas and 40-50 kt winds can ...

Just the ticket for a one week holiday

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Gem

We are a family of three - Mom (US) and Dad (UK) in their forties, and just-turned-11 daughter, and we've had a busy summer. We were looking for a one week holiday option in mid August which didn't involve too many logistics or planning inputs. A cruise seemed ideal. We live in Switzerland, but our daughter had spent the summer at camp in the US. With school about to start, we thought a Europe ...

First and foremost I want to talk about the excursions. I would say don't book with the ship because it's overpriced and you'll sit on a bus with 100 other people and be on their schedule. Booking a private tour offers flexibility and convenience. I reviewed each port individually but I cannot say enough about Your Tour in Italy (www.yourtourinitaly.com). We booked all three days in Italy with ...

My wife and I were traveling with another couple. We stayed at the Confortel Barcelona Hotel the night before the 7 day cruise and also the night after the cruise ended. The room was clean but looked more like a dorm room than a hotel room - very austere. We took a taxi from the hotel to the dock on day of embarkation. The embarkation went smoothly accompanied by a glass of champagne upon ...
