The Great Outdoors. Has a nice size bar and buffet. Best of all, it's own soft-serve ice machine.

Awful...plain and simple

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Gem

This was suppose to be a celebration trip for us but it was anything but that. After turkish air lost my wife luggage we boarded the ship without hers. Dealing with guest services to retrieve the bag after it showed up in instanbul was a joke to say the least. The airline shipped the bag to athens (4 days in), actually the day before we showed up, but sat at the airport as we sailed away. ncl ...

Disappointing

I have many reasons why I would rate this cruise as poor, see my previous answers for more details. But among the things I experienced were lost, changed, or cancelled reservations, with staff that did not want to fix the problem and/or were unable to access any of the information. Hidden fees, and many activities that I wasn’t sure if I could participate in without being charged. Excursions being ...

THE WORST...

It was our first cruise. They turned it into an expensive disaster. Our state room has a tag reading : "This room was cleaned and disinfected". We enter the room, my 7 years old daughter needs to use the toilet and then she calls me in. I find, dirt and hair from the previous customers and their excrement in the toilet bowl. Inside, the toilet was a nightmare. Now, mentioning the hairs and the ...

Treated like second class citizen after they lied to me

I had saved for years to afford to pay for a vacation for my family that they would never forget. The vacation I had initially wanted was about $8,000.00 above my budget. Then I found this NCL cruise that offered a “Free at Sea” special that seemed to meet a lot of what I wanted and was within my budget. I booked through a travel agent and this had worked fine for my previous 23 cruises. I had ...

1.) Do NOT do their airfare package through them as a bundle deal. We called February 25th to set up flight deviations for arriving a day earlier than the cruise ship in Athens and leaving a day later in Venice. Our cruise ship set sail to leave on May 31st, so we had called before the “75 day” mark. On March 17th, our calls got disconnected so we tried again on March 18th to ask about vaccination ...

A complete humiliation

Except for one waiter at Magenta (from Zimbabwe) and the man of room service, everything was worse. Guest service isn't prepared. I paid one coffee at Starbucks and the system didn't recognize it, then I asked for help. The man at the balcony was very rude, saying I had to pay and I didn't want to. No one gives a damn when you ask for the manager, they offer you to write a letter and send a ln ...

The cabin was small but nice and clean. The staff were very pleasant. The pros stop here. I was disappointed from the get go. After speaking to NCL multiple times on the phone and asking over and over again about the different charges and asking if there were any additional fees or charges and told that there were none, I was very upset when I found out that there would be a $12 charge per ...

This was our second cruise on the Gem. We completed a seven cruise in the Western Mediterranean in 2008. We choose the ship again because of a great experience.....My how things can change. The Ship change so much it was shocking and very disappointing. Somewhere customer service has been lost in the FREESTYLE (defined as: you will pay for everything, pay allot and get poor service). We arrived ...

NCL a big disappointment.

The ship was nice, stateroom adequate with a big bathroom, powerful shower, powerful hair dryer not connected to the wall! Our complaint was lack of information-no info on how to get from where the ship docks to town. No info on shuttles or lack of shuttles. In Venice, the bus from the port to town quits at some point during the evening-no one tells you that, you return only to find no ...

FreeStyle Cruising = Poor Service!

I just returned from a 7 day cruise on the NCL Norwegian Gem. First let me say, as an introduction, and qualification, that I have been cruising for years, and being 57 and retired, I consider this my "Prime Cruise Years". Both my wife and I really enjoy cruising and have cruised to Canada, Bermuda, The Bahamas, the Caribbean, Europe and Alaska, some of them several times. To be most frank, mostly ...
