Disappointment :(

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Epic

I chose this specific time/ship because of the Solo cabins that were so highly rated. This was actually a 7 day cruise to Great Stirrup Cay, Ocho Rios, Georgetown, and Cozumel. This was my 1st time sailing with NCL and it will be my last. There was a serious lack of communication, disembarkation for excursions, and at the end of the cruise were a nightmare and not well organized, over all ...

I chose Epic because when I was booking i was going to be a solo traveller (however I ended up with 3 friends joining me ). I had a studio cabin on my own as none of us wanted to share our rooms. The cruise was nothing short of fabulous . I loved every minute of it. My tips are: - the shampoo/conditioner is great for shampooing your hair but not for conditioning your hair - take your ...

I chose this cruise because of the reviews that I had read. The ship is way over crowded and there is not enough room around the outside areas for everyone to enjoy. The food was sub par. It was always cold and did not seem fresh. The mini-suit bathroom, where the toliet is located is way to small. It was set up strangely where the shower is across the small hall from the toliet area, both have ...

My husband and I had never been on a cruise before and we definitely will be back! So I guess we can’t make comparisons. The staff and crew were friendly and helpful. The food was so awesome and the choices were great! We ate at three of the specialty restaurants with Moderno being our favorite. I have to have a gluten free diet and they had it noted. I didn’t even have to mention it. Lots of ...

Chosen for relaxing and dancing. They list ballroom dancing in Main dining room but put tables on 80% of the dance floor. And band played dinner jazz. They didn't know what a Rhumba beat was. Too many people on this ship. Everything felt crowded. Buffet food was just so so. Main dining room was good food though. Overall, no desire to cruise on this ship again. First ship we've been on that did ...

After reading all the bad reviews of the Epic's February and March cruises, I was very apprehensive about my upcoming April 6 cruise. My worries were for naught. The cruise from Embarkation to Debarkation was very satisfying. Although the ship is huge, it didn't feel any more crowded than the smaller boats I've been on. Elevator wait times were not bad except when shows were ...

We had been on a prior criuse with NCL to Bermuda. This was so much nicer with great staff and wonderful food. The cabin could have been a little bigger because the space between the bed and counter was very narrow. The balcony was big and had two chairs and a small table. No problem with the shower or toilet area. Really don't understand the people that complained about this. Entertainment was ...

Make sure to have walking shoes on at all times and have tip money in your pocket. From picking your luggage up at the airport to getting onto the ship, it is a lot of walking. If you get a porter at the airport, he will take you directly to the NCL area where you will sign in for your ship transfer, and use a Porter on disembarkation day. Porters know how to move you around very, very, quickly, ...

first Norwegian cruise ! choose the Epic for the studio rooms for solo travelers - the room is perfect for one person and the use of the studio lounge was nice = met a lot of nice people there as well as on the ship - the shows were great [as usual ] - my only complaint was that the food I ate at several restaurants was cold and had to be returned - this was at the Taste, Sheehans Pub & grill ...

To begin, this is not the first time we have sailed with NCL it is the 7th for me and the 9th for my Wife dating back to 2005. It is the very first negative review I have submitted on NCL. We have even sailed on the Epic before and enjoyed it very much. But alas, that is old news. To begin with, the Epic is a Large Ship. Built in 2010 and refurbished in 2015, it is 155,873 tons, 1,081 feet ...
