Disappointment :(

Review for Norwegian Epic to Caribbean - Western

I chose this specific time/ship because of the Solo cabins that were so highly rated. This was actually a 7 day cruise to Great Stirrup Cay, Ocho Rios, Georgetown, and Cozumel. This was my 1st time sailing with NCL and it will be my last. There was a serious lack of communication, disembarkation for excursions, and at the end of the cruise were a nightmare and not well organized, over all ...

I chose Epic because when I was booking i was going to be a solo traveller (however I ended up with 3 friends joining me ). I had a studio cabin on my own as none of us wanted to share our rooms. The cruise was nothing short of fabulous . I loved every minute of it. My tips are: - the shampoo/conditioner is great for shampooing your hair but not for conditioning your hair - take your ...

So many choices!

My husband and I had never been on a cruise before and we definitely will be back! So I guess we can’t make comparisons. The staff and crew were friendly and helpful. The food was so awesome and the choices were great! We ate at three of the specialty restaurants with Moderno being our favorite. I have to have a gluten free diet and they had it noted. I didn’t even have to mention it. Lots of ...

I chose this cruise because of the reviews that I had read. The ship is way over crowded and there is not enough room around the outside areas for everyone to enjoy. The food was sub par. It was always cold and did not seem fresh. The mini-suit bathroom, where the toliet is located is way to small. It was set up strangely where the shower is across the small hall from the toliet area, both have ...

Terrible Food

We had heard good things about Norwegian and wanted to give them a try. We were disappointed. The food was terrible and it was impossible to get into the smaller shows. One night I ordered what was supposed to be a hot appetizer and it came out stone cold. Food had no flavor. At the pub they serve your food in a metal basket sitting on a piece of paper which made it impossible to use a knife. We ...

We chose this cruise because of the date and the home port. We cruised the last two times on the Oasis and wanted to go to other destinations. If you have read the reviews that others have posted they are spot on. The bathroom deal is weird, the pools and deck space are weird, and for a large vessel you will not find any large and roomy spaces on board. Not too many happy passengers were to be ...

ALL INCLUSIVE RESORTS ( PALACE) NEXT TIME

We choose the Epic because our friends were going and we were asked to join them as opposed to our normal Palace Resorts trips in the caribbean or Mexico this year. Never again. The staff was great but the nickel/dime concept of the trip was crazy. Everything from bourbon, shrimp cocktails and the list goes on is upcharged. For them to also advertise an excursion day when we actually only have 2 ...

Too many people

We like ships wth no more than 320O passengers. Have sailed various lines in the last 10 years. Decided to try a bigger ship. A mistake. Too many passengers and too many had complimentary drink package. So the ship, was full of too many drunks, mostly ages 35-55 who were loud, disruptive, particularly in dinner dining rooms. If you don’t have a reservation for dinner you will wait in a line. ...

First time freestyle

I was hesitant to book this cruise based on some bad reviews. I’m glad we did. I have cruised many times in the past mostly with Royal Caribbean so this was my first time with freestyle cruising. The cabins were standard balconies and exactly what we expected but our cabin steward, BJ was fabulous. Very friendly and accommodating. We had an aft facing balcony on deck 9. My husband thought it ...

To begin, this is not the first time we have sailed with NCL it is the 7th for me and the 9th for my Wife dating back to 2005. It is the very first negative review I have submitted on NCL. We have even sailed on the Epic before and enjoyed it very much. But alas, that is old news. To begin with, the Epic is a Large Ship. Built in 2010 and refurbished in 2015, it is 155,873 tons, 1,081 feet ...
