Lovely ship! Great Stewards and phenomenal culinary staff
"We are being given a future cruise credit of 1/2 of what we paid for this trip, but considering the behavior of the senior staff, Krystjof not withstanding, we should have had additional compensation for the gross error of the third party testing company and NCL not verifying that they had every customers data printed before distributing the paperwork. The next two ports we were denied entry or NCL wouldn't go into port with such a high case count of COVID-19...."Read More

Few entertainment options onboard/Smokers beware

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

I wanted to go on a post-Covid cruise and Norwegian seemed to offer the most value for your money with their Free at Sea option. I went with 10 other people - family and friends. Five people in the group either smoked or vaped. We all had balcony staterooms. The drinks were plentiful but weak. During the day, any organized activities onboard cost money. I went to Bingo and spent $30 to play. ...

We selected this cruise as it left from Tampa, Florida, near our home. We were traveling with four other Floridians. None of us had experience with the Norwegian Cruiseline before this trip. We all had been on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess and Carnival. It appeared Norwegian gave a nice selection of specialty restaurants. We selected the balcony cabin (used to be called ...

Not bad 1st cruise but a bit disorganized

Friends invited us to join their group for our 1st cruise experience. We picked a waterview room, a couple specialty dinners and unlimited beverages package. Picked our boarding time and showed up an hour earlier, perhaps a mistake. The line outside terminal was long, we waited over two hours to get into terminal. Come to find out that someone missing from the disembarking group was found dead ...

Norwegian Dawn significantly worse than pre-Covid

Food is generally very bland. This is true for the Garden Cafe (self-service buffet) as well as the "included" restaurants. There are daily themes in the buffet such as seafood, asian or Indian, but nothing was outstanding. There was a selection of Indian dishes every day, but I did not see a single Mediterranean dish let alone theme. The service at the included restaurants was good but very slow ...

Had friends that booked this cruise, so we joined them. This was our 4th cruise in the past 12 months. The embarkation was poor, long lines, had to repeat much if the info we had entered online, take pictures again, etc. Took an hour to get on board. Cabin wasn't ready, bags didn't show up until 5pm. The flowers my wife ordered for us and our friends never arrived (the card did). Guest ...

We chose this 11-day cruise because of the itinerary, 5 ports of call and 5 sea days and we wanted to explore Key West as one of the ports. We have been on the Dawn a couple of times before and enjoyed the smaller ship and the exclusive wine bar. Embarkation in Tampa went smooth, we arrived around 1:30 pm and went through priority access quickly as Platinum Latitude members. The buffet was open, ...

Old ship and they are cutting costs

We chose this for a Holiday Cruise. We booked a penthouse suite room 12350. They ship was easy to get around. It says capacity of around 2,300 passengers. The ship had over 2,500. The ship is old. Our room had two balcany windows that had bad seals and the balcony door was extremely dfficult to open. The lock on the cabin door didn't work, one sink had a constant drip, and we reported ...

We chose Norwegian this time because they were the 1st to notify our cruise agent that they no longer required proof of vaccination. We chose this ship due to the itinerary and the number of days at sea. We chose our time of boarding to be 2:30 and it was the best embarkation we've ever experienced. We seemed to be the only passengers in the terminal and we walked right onto the ship. We heard ...

Overall it was a nice cruise. Most of the Crew was amazing. Except for Elements entertainment was very disappointing. Same food choice everywhere with slight variations every day for 14 days. NCL is cutting corners. Felt lots of pressure to buy cruise next & Art sales. We booked this cruise because of itinerary. Port depends of what you do. We had a good visit except St. Thomas & St. John’s. ...

A Traditional Cruise Experience, but the Dawn needs some changes

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

I chose this cruise because I wanted to experience a smaller ship for the first time. I knew when I booked this ship that it was quite old and lacked some of the WOW features of newer ships. However, many have said on past cruises they found the smaller ships their favourite because of its intimate feel and classic cruising experience. Now that I have experienced both types of NCL ships, I ...
