Lovely ship! Great Stewards and phenomenal culinary staff
"We are being given a future cruise credit of 1/2 of what we paid for this trip, but considering the behavior of the senior staff, Krystjof not withstanding, we should have had additional compensation for the gross error of the third party testing company and NCL not verifying that they had every customers data printed before distributing the paperwork. The next two ports we were denied entry or NCL wouldn't go into port with such a high case count of COVID-19...."Read More

The cruise started off normally and was fine to start off. From day one the food on board, including the pay restaurants, was nothing short of sensational! I cant compliment the culinary staff enough. I would like to state that our steward as well as most stewards went over and above on this cruise to make our long stay as pleasant as possible! The weather wasn't the best for most of the trip but ...

Let me start by disclosing that this is a fairly lengthy review, which I would loved to have had before we left. Bear with me please. There were some very nice things about the Norwegian Dawn, its crew and our experiences you should know about. There are also some things to be critical of as to our destinations, the time of year we chose and the excursions we experienced as well. It is ...

Great itinerary

Chose this cruise for the itererary and timing - peak fall colors in Canada and New England. Food was average, service was slow, dining room service was very slow. Ports of call and disembarkation was smooth except for the last one - New York City. Got in late, very disorganized exit and the transportation to the airport was a mess. No one knew which bus went to Newark, which one went to ...

I choose this cruise to experience fall colors in New England, but due to unusually warm weather, the leaves had not turned yet. Oh well, I was still excited to see ports I had never been to before. Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax, and Quebec City were great....wonderful sightseeing, history, food, culture. But there were some ports that were not worth the effort to get off the ship. Saguenay/La ...

NCL Dawn

Pros: Great itinerary but go in October if you want to see the peak color of Autumn leaves. Great staff and service. Surf and Turf dinner at Cagney's was by far the best meal of the entire cruise. There wasn't a lot of overt selling of products during this cruise like on some other cruiselines. O'Sheehan's offers an alternative to the big restaurants and it's great for breakfast. Aqua and ...

At Manhattan Terminal, the Embarkation staffs are rude and shouting to the senior guests, this is the worst Embarkation experience have ever experienced for 25 years Cruse vacation. Free Dining: (1) Bamboo (Deck 7): Bamboo is the best ship's restaurant. Recommend menu items: appetizers (pot stickers and spring rolls), soups ( egg drop), mains (kung pao chicken, vegetarian fried rice), BBQ ...

We have cruised many time and this time we chose the Norwegian cruise from NYC to Quebec City for the itinerary. Overall we had a good time in the locations on most of our excursions. Our cabin steward, Rhayan, was outstanding, friendly and worked very hard to keep our cabin in excellent condition and help us have a good experience. We did take at least one excursion in each port and enjoyed ...

Great destinations, poor communication and lack of transparency

Overview (C): We rated each category A-F based on our experience on the NCL Dawn. Overall the ship was okay... nothing exceptionally glamorous but not terrible either. Our main issue with the Dawn was terrible communication and transparency especially when it came to logistical problems such as boarding the ship (which took over two hours and we were there at our allotted time) and two ...

NCL Dawn to Canada and NE...Now corkage fee for EVERY bottle of wine!

I used to carry on a bottle of wine to enjoy in my cabin, and there was no charge. They would only charge you a corkage fee if you took it to the dining room to open and enjoy. Now, they stop you immediately after TSA and make you feel like a criminal! I asked the guy taking my information to charge me, when this rule came to be and he would not answer me. I guess the nickel and diming will ...

Not My Cruise Line

My wife and I decided to do a quick 1 week cruise out of New York and traveled with my daughter and 11 month old grandson in a separate cabin. We had sailed the S.S. Norway and had such a bad experience we stayed away from NCL. We have 34 cruises under our belts so it was NCL, not cruising, we avoided. This was our least favorite of 13 cruise lines. I know they have their loyal following and ...
