If this had been our first cruise it probably would have been our last. Finding the larger ships quite overcrowded we decided to try one of the smaller ones, Dawn, to see if we liked it any better. I have done Breakaway, Escape and now Dawn with the same NY to Bermuda itinerary. Both my Escape cruise and Dawn were at full capacity which lets me make a better comparison.
The Good:

It was easy leaving in New Jersey to just catch the ship and getaway. We were delayed over 2 hours boarding the ship. We stood outside online without anyone telling us what the problem was. I cannot believe they did not try with todays technology to contact people and let them know there would be a delay. NCL knew as the ship did not dock until 10:00. The worst embarkation in my 40 years of ...
I’ve been on 15-29 cruises in my lifetime, all of which were Royal Caribbean, and Carnival and I loved them. The food was phenomenal and the night life was amazing and fun. I had never been on a Norwegian, so I figured I’d give it a try! Well, I regret that I made that decision.
Starting from the embarkation, there was a problem. We were supposed to board the ship at 10am, we didn’t board until ...
This was our very first cruise on any line; we had great expectations for a terrific experience. It turns out that our cruise was not what we had hoped for from the moment we arrived at the pier. We had informed NCL of our expected arrival time of 11:30 on November 2nd many weeks before our arrival. Our cruise documents indicate NCL was aware of our arrival time.
We could have taken a later ...
My brother and sister in law won a cruise each. So we teamed up and went with them. Not free for us but pretty good. We had been on the Dawn 5 or 6 times before with a great experience each time. To start off the gangway machine was broken so we sat around in the NY terminal with no one explaining anything. We wound up going in on deck 4 instead of the Atrium Deck 7. Over 2 hours waiting to ...
This will be a very in depth review. First I will go over the bad...then I will go over the good.
I cruised with about 45 people in our group. My wife was group leader of 20 cabins.
These reviews are from all of us.
BAD:
The ship does not have a lot of entertainment. 1 theater, 1 small pool, plus a kids pool at the back of the ship. 1 club that plays the same music all the time. ...
I have been on this ship quite a few times, as I am now a Platinum Latitude member. At the time of this sailing, I was Gold. Granted, the latitude rewards are not much, but this time I expected to have discounts for on board shopping and spa treatments, which should have amounted to me saving $150.00. I expected the issue to be resolved after speaking with my cabin steward, who looked into it. ...
We chose this cruise because it left from Boston and we could avoid flying. From the moment we boarded the ship, it was one disappointment after another. There were 3 of us in one cabin and when we booked, we were told the cabin had two twin beds and a pull out couch. There was no pull out couch, but a trundle under one of the twin beds. When we complained, we were told there was nothing they ...
I would really love to give this cruise 5 stars and I probably would have If guest services was not in the picture. I went with a wedding party with over 60 people. The food, entertainment and staff are all incredible. However, guest services is not. If you have an issue and have to rely on them, be prepared for nothing to happen and have to jump through hoops to get anything resolved. We had a ...
Family get-Together for a 92nd birthday party. We encountered a lot of issues.
1)We paid for group photos. We were told that photos were no longer being printed But that we will be emailed our pictures so that WE can print them wherever at OUR convenience!!
2) we paid for an excursion, only to find out the night before, that they enclosed a note stating that we had to find transportation ...
