My complaints are so minor they slip my memory. DO keep in mind I was a solo traveler (female mid-50s) and in arguably the best cabin onboard for me (16704).
Embarkation was a complete cluster. Think NYC traffic, bozos everywhere and a completely disorganized plan. For those of us that paid the large premium for Haven it was a dismal start. There was no marked line. I had the choice of ...
This was our 4th cruise with NCL and this ship and overall experience was mediocre. Crowding everywhere. Quality of Freestyle dining was poor. Staff were not as friendly as our previous NCL cruises. We will consider cruising NCL again but most likely not this ship. We are hoping that this is not an overall trend throughout NCL.
Ship: seemed crowded everywhere we went.
Pool Area: Small ...
It was a good price for a 10 day cruise and I thought I'd give the big ships a try. I had only had one other "big ship" cruise on the Epic that was terrible.
The room was nice, but I didn't find the brown carpet very cheerful. Our room steward was terrible. Room was dirty and things were not refilled/replaced. Quality of the room stewards seemed to go downhill immediately after NCL began the ...
Some specialty dining was included in the package we got and that was very good. The regular dining rooms were inconsistent - some pretty good meals and some not very good meals. My main complaint is that the smoke from the smoking areas drifts into the surrounding areas. There was a good noodle restaurant next to the casino but only ate there once because it was smokey. Enjoyed a quiet bar ...
We were nervous about cruising for such a long time but we discovered it was so great it wasn't long enough! Norwegian is excellent in all they do. The ship was in great shape, well maintained and clean. The service was personal and impeccable. The cabin was roomy with a nice closet with shelves. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious. Although if you were overweight you might not say that. ...
We like to chase away the winter blahs with a cruise. Although we had been to the western Caribbean before we decided to try it again, this time only planning a couple of shore excursions. The Breakaway was a really nice ship. It offered many entertainment venues from dancing and singing shows to comedy. We had a mini suite which was not much larger than a regular balcony room. Our balcony was the ...
Just finished a 10 day cruise the Carribean with stops in Honduras, Belize etc.
The food was great. We especially enjoyed the restaurants. All we visited were excellent.
The smoke smell around the gaming area was awful.
I paid the $75 for wi-fi but it was so difficult to work with. I used 9 minutes and finally just gave up. They charged me for the whole package despite my complaints of ...
Specialty dining: considering the food we had in Manhattan during the cruise we found it to be far and above the best restaurant on the ship. We found nothing special at all about the specialty restaurants. Mostly the food was bland (Cagneys) or in some cases inedible (Le Bistro - duck) and what we did like (La Cucina) could be found in Manhattan anyway (ravioli and gnocchi were exactly the ...
We chose this Norwegian cruise for the ports of call. We have been to the Caribbean a number of previous times and we liked that this cruise was leaving from and returning to New Orleans, LA. We were interested in seeing Roatan Island, Belize, and Costa Maya. These were new stops for us.
The Breakaway is the largest Norwegian cruise ship that we have been on. It had its good points and some ...
We had read all the reviews possible prior to boarding on December 6th and we feared the worst. As we walked to board we asked a couple how they liked their cruise. They responded "fantastic."
The embarkation process actually went quite well. There was the usual excitement while in the lines and it wasn't long before we had found a high table in O'Sheehan's, and ordered drinks and chicken ...
