This was our first ever transatlantic crossing and we wanted to experience this brand new, beautiful ship. We had a great experience and were still very busy everyday of this 12-day cruise. The only thing we didn't do is pay for the Thermal Suite, which I thought was way over priced at almost $20 per day (the Breakaway was $10 per day). The Haven staff was outstanding, the food fantastic, and ...
We wanted to do a maiden cruise and try a transatlantic to see how we enjoyed extra sea time. It was great! The decor was beautifully understated, mirroring the colors of the sea. It will be amazing in Alaska. Like on many ships, it is more tailored to Alaska than the Caribbean. Gorgeous. Crew were very friendly and offered service above and beyond. (There was one really green waiter at ...
The opportunity to go on our first trans-Atlantic cruise, on a brand new vessel, with our favourite cruise line was too much to refuse.
All of our party were at work the day before the sailing, as we live in the UK and have visited Southampton on several occasions in the past, we travelled down on the morning of the cruise. A four hour car journey meant we were in plenty of time for the scrum ...
This was my first transatlantic but I didn't want to miss out being on a brand new ship. We had a great group on the roll call and many events on-board that were set up but ship was the main focus.
First off, the crew was fantastic as always, there were a few hiccups in the newer venues since they were still learning too but everything was easily fixed. The entertainment was great with the ...
First the Pros:
Embarkation and debarkation were swift slowed only on debarkation because many non-USA had to be photographed and fingerprinted. The ship still had the ‘new-car’ smell. The Observation Lounge was spectacular with 180-degree ocean views, sides and top. The bars were numerous. Opportunities for dining, snacking or just sitting were more than adequate. The layout of the Atrium was ...
The embarkation and disembarkation processes were both fine, no problems or delays at either Southampton or New York. I must confess that the balcony stateroom i received was extremely small (not even 140sqft), wardrobe is just so closed to the bed and very difficult to get in out anything out of it (and i am skinny). Bathroom was ok, no complaints. Dining venues were fine, as the ship has a ...
NCL did an amazing job on the Bliss. The observation lounge and race track were great added features. Silas, the cruise director, Mandy, the asst. cruise director, and the rest of the entertainment crew did a great job at keeping everyone's interest at the different activities on board.
The new restaurants were also very good. You won't leave Q or Los Lobos hungry. If you go to Los Lobos, ...
Well, this is our 10th cruise with NCL and we were not disappointed. We've mainly been on the smaller ships like Jade etc, but did do Epic recently and it kind of worried us as we didn't like that so much. No fear though, the Bliss is excellent.
Design, decor and ambience feel much classier. Beautiful layout, loads of places to relax and watch the world go by.
Service superb as always, ...
We did the Trans-Atlantic cruise last year on the Celebrity Eclipse and wanted to try a different cruise line this time around. The Bliss was still being built when we booked last September and looked like an amazing vessel, so we thought we'd give it a try. This is our third cruise, we did the Caribbean on the Disney Magic back in 2009, which was excellent.
Boarding at Southampton was a ...
