Great cruise, mediocre food/service
"In contrast, the main dining rooms and specialty restaurants had incredible food as usual. We've been to countries all over the world but cruising to Alaska is the best experience you could ask for from a cruise...."Read More

What an amazing Alaskan cruise on the NCL Bliss!

The ship was just beautiful but the CREW makes this ship what it is---FABULOUS! The ports were so pretty and we saw a LOT of ice and snow on the mountains. From whale watching and zipline riding, the Mendenhall Glacier, and the Great American Lumberjack Show...we just loved it all. We were in an accessible balcony cabin, 12886, and our room steward was a precious young man. Our room ran hot so he ...

Disappointing

This cruise was delayed two years due to covid. In 2020 we were scheduled on Royal Caribbean but our dates didn't work to rebook with them so we went with NCL. We had previously cruised on the NCL Escape and it was about average so we didn't think anything of booking the Bliss. This was our third Alaskan and 22nd overall cruise (only our 2nd & last on NCL). Embarkation - This was a mess but ...

Alaskan cruise, woohoo! We enjoyed the Norwegian Bliss as a cruise ship. They have a craft beer bar, a pan-Asian restaurant, and great entertainment such as the Jersey Boys. There was a terrific Beatles cover band from, I think, Argentina, and a good country band, though some of them looked a liitle bored at times checking their watches. Boarding was quick even though I counted 5 check-ins before ...

I have been on 26 cruises in total. I am 49 years old and booked this Alaska cruise with my wife and 2 teenage daughters. Before booking, I was told by 2 different representatives from NCL that the buffet would not have self service (which is what I wanted to hear). In other words, the NCL staff would be placing any food you want in your plate, you just wont be able to do that. Celebrity did ...

The overall trip was a disappointment. The food was like a cafeteria. There was only one late night restaurant available for the entire ship, the Local. There were no snacks, desserts, or anything available after the restaurants closed. The Speciality restaurants were not special, I hate that we paid for eating at Los Lobos. Comparable to Taco Bell. It was terrible. Cagne's Restaurant was ...

First time cruiser, great experience

We were originally scheduled for June 2020 on NCL Joy and booked this trip only 30 days out as a “let’s go” last minute type of thing. Cabin 11802 (category M1) balcony mini suite mid ship was amazing. My GF has been on about a dozen cruises and said this cabin/bathroom/balcony were bigger than expected. I never felt cramped with two people. Like many other first timers I packed too many clothes. ...

General: This was the use of a FCC for a cancelled Med cruise. Scheduled to be a family cruise with our adult daughters and their spouses. Our boarding was delayed until noon for extra cleaning. Cabin was clean and comfortable. The Bliss was not at capacity so elevators were usually available. Observation Lounge is amazing, our favorite part of the shipboard experience. Meals ...

Alaska was a bucket list for me. Finally, after 3 being canceled, I sailed. I’m not crazy about the mega ships, but I watched the Bliss being built. I think I felt a kinship to her. She’s beautiful. The observation lounge is a nice touch with a smaller versions of the buffet on port and starboard sides, and a bar in the front. Good luck getting one of the premium lounge chairs in the front.. ...

I chose this cruise, because my daughter asked if we could do a family cruise with two separate families. The ship was half booked due to COVID. If this ship was 100 percent booked, it would have been miserable. My wife and I had prepaid for gratuites, drinks and community meals on deck 16, Taste, the Public, and one other spot. The other 'off plan' restaraunts on the ship basically served the ...
