Never Again NCL

Review for Norwegian Gem to Bermuda

Charter cruise/music experience on a cruise. I've sailed on many ships to many locations. While the charter piece of this cruise was extremely well done, NCL was horrible as a provider of the sailing experience. Sailed on the The Gem. Again, I realize this was a charter and an old smaller ship so my comments take that into consideration. Food: Horrible, tasteless, always cold and items ...

We chose this cruise because it was one the first 14 day cruises available post CDC clearance and because of NCL's policy of 100% vaccinations for passengers and crew. We've had four cancellations in the past two years and were anxious to get back on the water. Several topics to note: 1. The Covid testing procedures at the terminal were an inconvenience but pretty efficient and well worth ...

Typically Excellent Norwegian Cruise

Excellent large ship, although I find the smaller ships to be much more enjoyable because they seem so much less crowded. Experience was typical of my expectations for NCL. Ship's officers and crew were very welcoming, which notably helped enhance the experience. Particularly noteworthy service was received from Vanessa O (bar waitress), Wayan R (Waiter), Minellie P (bar waitress), and I Kadek ...

We were sailing out if NYC parked the car in the terminal lot at noon when we had a scheduled appointment..and had to walk a city block to be Covid tested ( 2 tests) in another terminal...It took over 4 hours in the hot terminal waiting in line after line. ! You got the results back from the rapid Covid and we’re approved you get a wrist band and then told to truck on back to the first terminal ...

My wife and I just did the 7 night NCL cruise on the Breakaway from NYC - our first post COVID cruise. I wanted to share what to expect in a Bermuda cruise now since it was hard for me to find current info. Overall, we had a great cruise vacation thanks to the 40% capacity (2000 instead of 5000) and our good fortune with weather (we departed on 10/31 - the prior cruise ended up stuck in rough ...

We had cruise credit from a cancelled 2020 Caribbean cruise and decided to use it on this Bermuda cruise. We arrived in NY the day before and stayed at the nearby Midtown Comfort Inn and walked the one block to the port in the morning. I struggle with motion sickness, especially on the Pacific, and figured with this cruise I was guaranteed 2 1/2 days of land. A few of the Bermuda cruises in the ...

Great Cruise, but...

First let me say the NCL is doing a great job making sure the passengers feel safe and comfortable on the ship without the scent of antiseptic or over powering disinfectants. the staff is masked at all times but you do not feel uncomfortable. The Ship was 1/3 to capacity and this made getting around easy. The restaurants were great, and the ship staff could not make you feel more ...

Outstanding service by crew vs quality of food

I have sailed Norwegian over 15 times, and the service has always been good, and cleanliness was always a priority even before pandemic. This cruise was different being the first since COVID that I have been on one. The service was 10 times superior, everyone grateful and appreciative. The food however was not up to Norwegians standard or my past experiences. Cagneys was excellent as always, ...

The Haven Experience on the Breakaway to Bermuda

Wife and I celebrating our 30th anniversary stayed in a 2 bedroom suite in the Haven Courtyard. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. This review will be very Haven centric. 1. Boarding in New York was straightforward, but somewhat delayed. After doing the required testing with EuroFins, we arrived at the Haven check-in room around 10:40 only to wait about 90 minutes before being permitted ...

Absolutely a nightmare vacation

This was our first cruise post covid shut downs. Ncl canceled our original Boston to bermuda cruise and 3 others due to covid. We had booked the joy out of Miami for the same week, we had a haven suite and of course they canceled that on us without explanation. Since we had that week scheduled off from work the Breakaway out of NYC is what we rebooked. They jacked the prices and we now had to ...
