What a nightmare! My husband and I children and grandchildren went on this cruise for a festive holiday. Instead, it was one of the worst cruises we’ve ever had. We have cruised extensively on many different lines. I have never written a review before, but felt I needed to let people know let’s start with embarkation. it was very chaotic, poorly run. No one to tell you where to go and get them ...
This was my first Norwegian cruise. We have taken 10 Carnival cruises, 1 Princess, 1 MSC and 1 Disney.
So, I am familiar with cruises. It was me, my husband and our two teens (12 and 15)
We were expecting this to be nice, so maybe that is why I was so disappointed. And, it wasn't just one of the items I am pointing out- it was just a combination of everything that really disappointed me ...
Safe and drawer under couch were both broken and unusable. Room steward was so over worked he only managed to clean our room 2 out of the 5 days we sailed. They only had one of the four slides open with very limited hours of operation. Very few activities during the day. Weird rules about not allowing food to be taken out of the main dining rooms, even if they take forever to bring the food ...
We chose this cruise based on previous reviews of other guests. We were pleasantly surprised with the cruise and I stayed at one of the Haven suites. The private restaurants and bars within the Haven were excellent and met our expectations. The bathtub overlooking the ocean in the evening was incredibly relaxing after a day of excursions. Kids had fun, adults had fun. Win win!
The rest of the ...
We did our first family cruise with our 12 year old son and 6 year old daughter. My husband and I cruised alone in 2022, so we wanted our kids to have a fun cruise experience to the Caribbean. We departed out of NOLA, where we did some non-NCL tours prior to and after the cruise. NOLA isn't kid-friendly, but we did enjoy our time there. I heard a lot of complaints about the NOLA terminal, but we ...
I sailed the 7-night April 9-16, 2023 cruise aboard the NCL Breakaway. The cruise departed from and returned to New Orleans.
POSITIVES:
*Great food in 3 main restaurants. NCL really stands out in this area. I can say this is a company-wide trait and one that influences me to keep sailing NCL.
*Water slides were great when working.
*Harvest Caye is excellent.
*The crew is ...
As I completed the survey for the cruise I as onboard last week, I felt that I needed to provide my experience as I contemplate moving forward with NCL for our vacation in August of this year. I typically chalk up small inconveniences to some having a bad day and usually don't give it a second thought, but I felt I could not let these things go as things go back to "normal".
Initially, I was ...
Some friends of ours planned to go on this cruise so we decided to try out Norwegian for the first time. We normally do Royal. Wow I had no idea what a huge step or leap down it would be. I got food poisoning on the 4th day. They didn’t go to one of the stops because it was too dangerous. Even though two other ships were parked there. The lines were insane. What I had to go through to get my son ...
Overall, I found the NCL Breakaway out of New Orleans to be a very good cruise. When you factor in all that came with the Haven I would easily put this cruise above any others we have taken before. Know that all the food we had on the ship was great and probably the best we have had on any cruise we have ever taken. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and do what they can to help ...
Overall had a nice cruise for a spring break week with lots of kids and large groups. Fam of 4. on 2nd NCL (Bliss previously) and 9th cruise overall. Spent night before at Marriott across from port and just walked over. Relaxed in Mall Food Court until check-in time and than took elevator down to street level to drop bags. Through security and in waiting room in about 15 min. Waited about another ...
