The Sky Remodel Worked For Some Ship Spaces But Not All Spaces

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Sky

First let me say that it's been 3 1/2 years (b4 COVID) since we last cruised. We had a cruise scheduled in Jan 2022 (out of New Orleans) but NCL cancelled it a few days before we were scheduled to go. So this cruise was almost like going for the first time. We chose the Sky because of its size. The previous 8 cruises we took were all on mega ships (Encore, Joy, Bliss, Epic). Although the mega ...

Wonderful service and accommodating crew yet very crowded and challenging for young families

We have sailed on 5 Norwegian cruises including itineraries in the Mediterranean, Alaska, Eastern and Western Caribbean , Canada and New England. The constant theme is the wonderful service and appreciative attitudes from the employees. We just completed a week on the Escape with stops in Belize, Honduras, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Once again the employees in the restaurants and bars were so ...

Good cruise, not so good passengers

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

This was my niece's senior trip. I took her (just turned 18yo) along with her 16yo brother and my boyfriend. The staff were fabulous, our room steward was top notch (Hary) and the crew was just overall jovial. Our review of the food is limited bc the kids aren't into new foods that much. Teppenyaki was definitely a hit. I was disappointed in that there wasn't much for the 2 of them to do. ...

Cruising is back in full force.

I want to start by saying that before this cruise, we last cruised in November 2022, so right about 6 months between cruises. This cruise was definitely at full capacity. The Escape is a larger ship and you can immediately tell that every stateroom was sold out. As you walk along through the different venues it doesn’t seem very crowded but as soon as you go to the outdoor decks and pool area you ...

Passable Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Joy

Embarkation was a nightmare. We waited for quite some time even after having a 10:30 check-in time. We waited until almost 1:00 to get on the ship. Check-in was a long time then getting through the metal detectors was a long time. Other cruise lines seem to process passengers quicker and more efficiently. We had a Suite cabin on Deck 14. The cabin was great! Lots of room and the cabin was ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Joy

Whoever said NCL is having major issues on the Joy had a very different experience than my wife and I. Yes, embarkation was a little chaotic. First we were mistakenly told we’d have access to the specialty lounge (i confirmed by email b/c we had a suite, but not the Haven, and the email said yes, we could access the specialty lounge.) This was bad info sent to us by NCL, apparently. Then, after ...

Miami Port is atrocious. We came in day before and stayed at hotel in South Beach. When we left for the dock the app said 40min - it took 100min because of all the construction, lane closures, and the six other boats docked. So find your patience early. Which is helpful because this boat had over 500 more people on it than the stated website maximum. On the first and last day the boat felt like it ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Encore

This has been the only cruise line we have been on this being our fourth cruise. As with all cruise lines post-pandemic, They are cutting a few corners to increase their bottom line. less entertainment and reducing hours and variety at their buffet. That was all that I noticed. I believe every cruise line is doing that. The Panama Canal was a little boring. You are just slowly going through the ...

This cruise was my bucket list cruise. Leaving Miami cruising through the Panama Canal and ending up in Los Angeles. 15 days with 7 ports, going places I've never been. Embarkation went really well, things were very organized and it was a smooth process. The ship itself was very clean. The crew did an excellent job keeping things clean. The food was great, we did eat at the buffet most of ...

Disappointing food, OK cruise but not great

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Joy

I had read many negative reviews about NCL before embarking, and for the most part, the ship and service exceeded my expectations. However, the food was a major disappointment in the main dining rooms and buffet. We had no memorable meals. There were no prawns, salmon, lobster, or escargot. While the food was nicely presented, the taste was lacking, pretty uninspired. We were served lots of ...
