We chose the cruise for a family get together to escape the winter in the northeast. The Norwegian Encore trip was the perfect itinerary on a modern vessel. This was my first time on a Mega Ship. I was not impressed. All the food came out cold and had to be sent back many times ( Including MDR, Specialty, and even Haven). A week or so out there was a change to the itinerary, dropping the first stop in Colombia (Santa Marta), changing Panama City to Colón, and adding an extra day in Lima. I have to say Service on this cruise was pretty poor. It seemed they were extremely understaffed. When seated in the main dining room it would be 10-15 minutes before a waiter would come. Twice no one came after dinner for us to order desert, after 30 minutes we left. The bars are also understaffed at peak times, it would take 20-30 minutes of waiting to get a drink. Just cruised on the Pearl for 3 days to the Bahamas. My biggest complaint (aside from the hard to use app, which isn't really the ship's fault) is that the bed was way too firm and the pillows way too soft. Entertainment was average.
