This was my 20th NCL cruise (I am Platinum Plus) and my 5th time on The M/S SKY.
To start, my cruise was the first since The Sky completed a rescue mission to Saint Thomas to pick up stranded passengers and I was honored to sail on a ship and with a crew that would do that and come to find out they also brought back stranded dogs and cats, so my hat is definitely off to the Officers and Crew ...
This was a short little get away, and we knew the boat was older. Overall the cruise was good....not great.
The boat is older, but everything is clean and the staff is great.
Our cabin was small, but clean and functional. Only issue was only one electric outlet in cabin.
Food was O.K.....not great.
We did not do any shore excursions mainly because there was not really ...
This was not our original Eastern Caribbean itinerary as planned to depart on 9th September 17 as this was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. We were already in Miami from the UK and to begin with were devastated when they contacted us to tell us our cruise was cancelled. On learning we were in Miami however and needed to get to safety we were offered the chance to join an 'evacuation cruise to ...
Nothing says luxury cruise like meatloaf at the carving station. I swear to whatever God you worship, the buffet had meatloaf at the carving station. It was all I could do to contain my laughter until I got to my table after watching the carver slice a quarter inch wide piece of meatloaf and deliver it to my place with the dignity of a British butler.
The free dining rooms are fairly empty. ...
Our cruise was scheduled for four days, but due to the impending Hurricane Irma, the captain wisely exercised extra caution and cut the cruise short.
Embarkation was quite easy and I was on board within 20 minutes of arrival at the pier.
The NCL Sky is an old ship and in some ways it shows. It still has some of the look when she sailed the Hawaii itineraries. However, the ship is kept up ...
Looked forward to going to Cuba for years. Because of changing regulations had to make this trip quickly. Cuba did not disappoint. Unique and wonderful experience from the beginning. We arrived as the sun came up along the Malecon illuminating the high marks of Havana in a reddish-orange glow. The statue of Jesus on the bluff, the capital building, the fort, and the docking of the ship in the 1 ...
Ship is very old and outdated. Should be taken out.
Cabin was very small. Bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen on any ship and I cruise a lot. Dinning was bad and I never complain about food. The whole set up at breakfast and lunch was very bad. There is only one dance floor on this ship. They had a very good Philippines Band on board. I have not seen any activities. I have never seen our ...
Sail NCL several times each year, first experience on the Sky (and the last)... it isn't even close to the other NCL ships in any category, surprised they've even kept it in the fleet... the food was OK, drinks OK, cabin tiny but OK, entertainment incredibly weak (almost an afterthought), staff were fine to begin with but the whole trip was put into turmoil and for us and many others absolutely ...
Due to Hurricane Irma, our cruise was interrupted and we had to stay out longer than we expected until the damage could be assessed in Florida. With that said, NCL went above and beyond sheltering passengers on the ship from both the NCL Escape and NCL Sky until all was safe and the Captain and crew worked extremely hard making passengers feel comfortable. This is more that could be said for ...
We have nothing but good things to say about the NCL Escape western Caribbean cruise. Our cruise ratings bear that out. What follows is a recount of our experiences from the very beginning, before we even booked passage, to the end when we said good-bye and headed home.
7 Days in September 2017 – Plus 4
