Worst ship in the fleet?

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Joy

This was our 10th NCL cruise and the 5th ship we have sailed, Here are just some of the reasons for such a bad review: 1) no thermal spa. NCL website and app both list a thermal spa package but they do not have a thermal spa. the do have the Vibe but I have no interest in being outdoors for the hot tubs when we have a 48 MPH wind and its 63 degrees outside. 2) POT smoking neighbors on ...

Lovely ship

We chose this cruise as, being from the West Coast, LA is easier to get to than Florida. We had the "free air" perk from NCL. In hindsight, we should have paid the deviation fee to come in a day early as it would have alleviated some stress, but it worked out fine, flights were direct, well timed, and on time. Embarkation was a bit chaotic. By the time we got to the port via the NCL ...

Same food at all restaurants, no activities, boring, no areas to smoke, worst cruise

Free from casino is why we went. Every restaurant had same food every day, breakfast lunch dinner. Casino very small. No activities, what few were boring and in atrium area, even tho they have a theatre. No movies in theatre, only Bingo. 39.00 for a 3 pack. All table games are double than other cruise lines. Huge ship. To big and too many people. I would NEVER go on this ship again. Very ...

Great ship for family vacay

We had an extended family vacation with ages 4 - 70. Everyone had a great time! Lots to do for everyone. Third & fourth passengers were free so it was affordable for us to bring our kids. The ship was great because it was high energy spaces as well as low key quiet areas. The observation deck is great place to grab a snack. The Local was a great place for lunch & we loved the board games on deck ...

Why bother with a Loyalty Programme if NCL doesn't honour its benefits?

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Joy

Having cruised with NCL many times I've now reached the heady level of Platinum member of their Latitudes loyalty programme. One of the most beneficial rewards is Priority Check In. However, my last two cruises (from New Orleans and from LA) didn't have this. Not only that but NCL is trying to con their customers. By this I mean that have a number of general check-in lines (per deck ...

Superb customer service & Amazing Vacation

This was our 4th cruise, all with NCL. My husband (42) and I (37) are an active couple, traveling with no kids. I was sort of nervous for this vacation as there were a couple of norovirus outbreaks on the ship in the news. However, we did not get sick, and thought the crew did an amazing job cleaning the communal spaces of the ship. I also thought it was a great idea to have the common area ...

Norwegian Joy Doesn’t Meet Expectations

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Joy

NCL Joy failed to meet expectations based on cruising Norwegian in the past. Norwegian seems to have changed its business strategy from focusing on value to focusing on marketing. Maybe it’s the large size of the Joy, but even the nearly as large Epic was notably more enjoyable. More and more amenities that were previously included in the cost are now add-ons. Add-ons now cost more, ...

Worst cruise experience ever

We were really looking forward to this cruise to the Mexican riviera but were told while we were waiting to board the ship ( which entailed a solid two hours in a slow line)that the previous TWO cruises had an outbreak of the norovirus... we hadn’t been told in advance or given a chance to change our cruise.. so we boarded to discover that the entire ship had been doused with the most toxic ...

Service good, complimentary dining not good

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Joy

Itinerary fit our schedule. Balcony, mid ship was fine, specialty dining very nice. Menu was very repetitive in complimentary dining rooms. Over cooked beef, chicken, drink pkg was just ok. Cheap liquor maybe. Public spaces can be very crowded. Spice H2o adult space had smoking section that we had to breath if we wanted to lounge there. Never used this space due to second hand smoke. Favorite ...

It was absolutely the most disorganized cruise ever...dangerous

We took the family of 11 on a Thanksgiving Cruise. We paid $200.00 per cabin to have "priority embarkation and debarkation"...HAH! do not fall for this ruse. We were the only people that knew this...the staff didn't know this, it meant nothing to the cruise staff and in fact, it hindered us getting on board. When we tried to board, the staff said priority boarding did not apply out side of the ...
