Excellent entertainment

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Star

We booked an inside cabin with a group travel company, over 300 were on our tour. We expected a small cabin, but we pleasantly surprised that the shower had a sliding door. We were in cabin 8521 near the front of the ship, and had no problem from noise in other cabins. The musical groups in the different lounges were excellent. The shows spectacular, every one! Our biggest complaint-we ...

My experience on NCL...

The main dining room is nice. The buffet upstair on the Deck 12 was so-so, few choices to pick to eat. Almost every morning, they serve the same meals. Some of my friends got food poison from the buffet. Not impressed with what they were serving compare to other cruises I had been on. One cruise's buffet was 4x bigger and had more choices. The theater seats need to be replaced! Many of them ...

Great cruise

Highly recommend this cruise: Pros. Food....meals in all dining areas were great. Most of our party are vegan and NCL went above and beyond to accommodate them. Even made special vegan meals. All restuarants are open to special requests. They have vegan patties that are not on menu. Irish Pub was a fave...they would leave chicken off fajitas. We ate there a lot. I read a lot of terrible ...

So-so

We wanted a nice holiday cruise, so found that NCL was offering beaucoup discounts and incentives to book (tips, OBC, internet package, and ultimate beverage package) with a decent price. Embarkation was fine, the ship was fine (if weirdly laid out), the cabin was fine... but there was nothing outstanding about any of it. Food was, on average, good but often was served lukewarm. Teaspoons are ...

My worst NCL cruise

6th Norwegin Cruise and most likely our last. We have enjoyed every one of our Cruises but it seems like service and food has gone down hill fast. My personal thought is way to many freebies and they are not able to accommodate all the Specialty Resturant reservations. Thankfully this not being our first rodeo I was aware of being able to book on line many days before sailing so we were able to ...

Never Again

Ship, Cabin, and Dining: By far, the worst cruise I've been on. The ship itself is old. The cabin had not been renovated and had similarities to a motel. Dining was disappointing throughout the cruise. NCL is proud of their flexibility when it comes to dining - dine when you want, where you want. They have a few complimentary dining (Aqua, Versailles, O'Sheehan, Ginza, & Buffet). Despite the ...

Specialty restaurants were great! Smooth & fast embarkation and disembarkation. Overall, not particularly impressed with anything other than steak house and Italian restaurant food quality & service. Daily newsletter wasn’t always clear about next day’s events, such as what deck or which side of ship would be used for exiting at each port. A couple times we were told announcement for something ...

Ship was nice, service not so much

This was our first experience on a smaller ship and was a bit apprehensive at first. I didn't think they took safety very seriously since the PA system was not working during the muster drill. We gathered in our station and were then dismissed without anyone going over the drill. The crew advised the PA system was having issues and the muster drill was not necessary! The entertainment ...

My first West Coast Cruise was Fabulous!

I moved this summer from PA to CA. I started a business in North Hollywood and needed a break. So, we decided to take a gamble on a West Coast Cruise out of LA. Wow, what a good decision that was! The embarkation was flawless and fast. I was amazed at how easy it was compared to New York. We drove right to the port, parked there, were met by a guy with a luggage cart before we even crossed the ...

We chose this cruise to be entertained over the Christmas Holiday. The ship itself was clean and tidy. This was my first sailing on Norwegian and I expected an upgraded experience but I could not see the difference between Norwegian and Carnival the line we usually sail. The most disappointing part of this sailing and most disappointing on the past few cruises we have taken is the service. ...
