Cruise To Be Forgotten

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Sun

We left on 10/4/10 from Dover, England on the Norwegian Sun as a 1st timer on this cruise line for a 12 day Trans Atlantic to Pt.Canaveral. We encountered many problems and being the Sun is an older ship from the fleet, it might be expected. Our toilet would not flush 5 different days of the trip and the worst was at 4AM with water overflowing on floor. Besides being ill with a high fever, ...

We just completed a 26 day cruise on the Norwegian Sun. This ship is going into dry dock in December so know ahead that there will be things that require updating, cleaning and repairs. We had sailed on Norwegian about 10 years ago and had terrible experience with them so we were apprehensive about this trip. We checked all the reviews on the web and were prepared for some of the issues ...

The cruise started out great. One week before the cruise, NCL called and offered to upgrade us to a mini-suite from a outside cabin with balcony for a minimal charge. It was an easy decision since we increased floor space by 50%. Embarkment was easy. The room we had was beautiful. The largest we have ever had and nicely accommodated. We had a wonderful cabin stewart, Michael When we sailed from ...

Epic number of passengers

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Epic

I agree with the previous review regarding the Epic. The entertainment venues are too small for the number of passengers and you cannot just walk in and sit down you have to wait in line until showtime and then file in. I waited for one show and almost reached the door only to be told it was full and come back in two hours for the later show at 11 p.m. Epic will have to sort out the queueing ...

St Petersburg was the highlight of a busy cruise

We're Australians in our late 50s with only 6 previous cruises with which to compare (none on this line). This was the first cruise with freestyle dining that we experienced. We had booked this cruise on the internet at a great price. Having never travelled in the Baltics, we were excited about seeing the cruise ports especially St Petersburg which we found proved to be the highlight of the ...

Tips to Tackling the Sun

We pick what cruises we go on based on the itinerary, and this itinerary (on paper) looked really great. Ultimately, the itinerary wasn't quite what we wanted, but the price for this cruise was really decent. Here I'm going to briefly talk about the good and the bad and what you can do to make the most of it. Itinerary: Looks good until we dock in Freeport instead of Langelinie in Copenhagen, ...

Great Ship for the Price!

We arrived in London a few days early and stayed in central London to see the sights. We pre-planned tours with Grayline before leaving and the tours leave right by Victoria Station and with restaurants right there everything was really convenient. We stayed at the Comfort Inn which was walking distance from the station but remember that many hotels in London do not have air conditioning so our ...

Jewel doesn't live up to her name

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

My wife and I recently returned from a Baltic Capitol cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. A jewel it was not. The line touts its freestyle cruising, but it is anything but free. They nickle and dime you to death, e.g. $10 to exchange currency, $10 to $25 cover charge per person for the opportunity to eat at an alternative restaurant rather than at the dining rooms which serve bland, tasteless meals ...

Hello Travelers, I would like to share with you our experiences on NCL Jewel Baltic Capital Cruise with a 2 day extension in London, the good, the bad and the ugly from August 1 thru August 16, 2009. NCL Jewel Baltic Cruise out of Dover May 2009 12 days

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

It's been months since I've returned, and I've needed the extra time to temper my comments. Pre-cruising was unpleasant. I had several instances to have to contact the cruise line before departure. Each time, NCL refused to deal with me directly because I hadn't booked directly with NCL, my travel agent had booked my reservation. I'm a Latitudes member and this cruise was my 4th with ...
